About the role:

We are looking to appoint an experienced Philanthropy Manager to proactively lead the cultivation and stewardship of potential and existing major donors, trusts and statutory bodies, with a particular focus on driving significant income growth.

Reporting to the Director of Fundraising and Engagement, the Philanthropy Manager will drive the growth of a portfolio of existing supporters and new prospects giving at the five and six figure gift level, with a particular focus on generating major gifts from new donors. The postholder will think strategically to develop inspiring fundraising cases of support, and impact reporting working closely with Care service colleagues, the finance team and the wider fundraising and engagement team.

This role has line management responsibility for three experienced fundraisers who manage their own portfolios of Major Donors, Trusts, and Foundations.

Our Youth and Play Workers will play a pivotal role in the Children, Young People and Families team, working as a core team of practitioners to ensure the smooth running of our programmes and services. The Dalit Solidarity Network UK is looking out for a 3-day a week (21 hours) part time Programme Officer. This role is to facilitate the work of DSN-UK ensuring delivery of key project administration, advocacy work and the smooth running of the office and taking on ad-hoc tasks where necessary. The Programme Officer will report to the Director. This role will occasionally involve some travel, evening or weekend work.  

Responsible for:

Everyday Casteism programme

Assisting the Director to implement the Everyday Casteism programme, including:

• Leading on community-based outreach and data collection and processing
• Development of advocacy strategies
• Supporting network development
• Supporting activities related to Business and Human Rights

Communication, networking & membership

• Liaising with DSN-UK members
• Leading on social media communications for DSN-UK

Administration

• Organising quarterly board meetings and AGM and taking minutes/preparing relevant papers

• Preparing management accounts and arranging payment of invoices
• Managing Gift Aid Submissions
• Managing receipts and petty cash

Person specification:

Required:

• Experience of supporting and managing stakeholder relations
• Experience of delivering projects
• Ability to work on own initiative and sometimes unsupervised
• Experience of working in an office, including the ability to use e-mail and maintain a website
• Ability to work as a member of a very small team
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work to deadlines
• Familiarity with social media tools, such as Twitter

Desirable:

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant field
• Previous experience of advocacy to achieve policy change
• Demonstrated knowledge of caste-based discrimination

We are currently recruiting an IT Support Officer to support our client with they project. In this role, you will provide comprehensive IT services to staff and volunteers, including the setup and maintenance of hardware, software, networks, and telephone systems, as well as ensuring their security and efficiency. You will also support with the development of an IT manual for the organisation.
 
Your day-to-day duties will include:

• Implementing change requests.
• IT Documentation: Creation and maintenance of IT department processes, procedures, site documentation, and user guides.
• Technical Skills: Experience with Intune, SharePoint, and Windows 11. (ITIL and project management experience are desirable.)
• Device Setup: Configuration of laptops and mobile phones (with provided instructions).
• Physical Tasks: Occasional light manual handling (primarily laptops and network equipment).
• Travel: travel to various UK office locations.

 
Essential Skills: 

• Technologies: Proficiency in Azure, Intune and SharePoint.
• Documentation Skills: Experience creating and maintaining IT documentation (processes, procedures, user guides).
• Communication & Customer Service: Effective communication skills with demonstrable customer service experience.
• Technical & Administrative Proficiency: Demonstrable IT and administrative skills, including MS Office 365 and understanding of IT networks/infrastructure.
• Organisational & Time Management Skills: Excellent organization, planning, and time management skills.

We are delighted to be supporting Hand in Hand in their search for an ambitious, confident Partnerships and Philanthropy Officer to join their award-winning fundraising team. You will join a team of eight, including a Head of Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships, three Philanthropy Partnerships Managers, two Philanthropy Officers and a Philanthropy and Corporate Assistant.

This is a Trusts and Foundations-focused Philanthropy & Partnerships Officer role with a mix of responsibilities across family Trusts and Foundations, Corporate Foundations, Wealth Management firms, and HNWIs. It’s a programme-led role and suits someone who is both personable and detail-oriented, excited by co-developing impact with donors through tailored projects.

As Partnerships and Philanthropy Officer, you will:

• Manage and grow a portfolio of family Trusts and Foundations, Wealth Management firms, and HNWIs
• Manage accounts worth $215,000 and drive new business worth $175,000
• Contribute to the team target of $7.1 million
• Develop detailed, programme-specific funding proposals
• Steward existing donors and develop new partnerships
• Build strong relationships with donors based on detailed programme insight

Ideal skills and experience:

• At least 1 year in a fundraising role ideally Trusts and Foundations or Major Donor
• Proven track record of securing gifts of c.$20,000+
• Ability to own relationships and manage a donor portfolio
• Methodical, detail-oriented, confident, and persuasive
• Strong sales and relationship-building skills
• Open to candidates from Corporate or Major Donor backgrounds who enjoy proposal development

Robertson Bell is exclusively partnering with the British Medical Association (BMA) in their search for a Group VAT Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. The BMA is the trade union and professional body for doctors in the UK.  They represent, support and negotiate on behalf of all UK doctors and medical students.

Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, the Group VAT Accountant will be responsible for ensuring that the BMA Group (BMA and BMJPG) properly accounts for VAT and meets their statutory return, including overseas equivalents. You will proactively ensure that the finance systems and internal processes across the group are compliant and will manage relationships with external advisors and HMRC, as the organisation’s VAT Subject Matter Expert.

The key duties of the role are as follows:

• Responsible for submission of accurate and timely statutory VAT returns (and international equivalents) for the Group.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations on a regular basis that supports the VAT return submission.
• Undertake annual reviews of the VAT position, including any exemptions applied during the year.
• Proactively ensure that the finance systems and internal processes across the Group are compliant with the required tax legislation and remain alert to any future changes.
• Proactively manage the relationship with external advisors and HMRC.
• Liaise with Group Auditors, providing support and information for financial audits, preparation of financial statements and other requests.
• Compile and communicate appropriate tax guidance and training wherever needed within the group, liaising with external advisors as necessary.
• Provide non-finance managers with insight, creativity and support whilst new business proposals are developed for proposed new income streams

To be successful as a Group VAT Accountant you'll ideally have:

• Accounting Qualification (CCAB) (essential)
• Significant experience in VAT within a commercial organisation (essential)
• Previous experience of working in a VAT compliance role (essential)
• Knowledge of applying VAT law and how it affects corporations.
• Knowledge and understanding of UK, EU and global VAT compliance issues
• Good relationship building and management skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail, accuracy and data analysis skills

This is a key position within NCG and will play a vital role in supporting our advice team to deliver an efficient, effective, and holistic support service tailored to the complex needs of asylum seekers and refugees.

• An understanding of available resources and services that support asylum seekers and how to access them

• Fluency in a community language is an advantage
