The Referral, Assessment and Operational Development Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the Managing Director with new business development, coordinating and managing referrals, assessments, tenancies and transitions for our customers with learning disabilities and autism.

The working pattern for this role is:Monday - Friday 9am-5pm

What you'll do:
Referral & Assessment Coordination
* Monitor and respond to referrals from external sources and direct contacts.
* Maintain a current tracking system for referral clarity and produce regular reports.
* Analyse referral data to identify local commissioning needs and growth opportunities.
* Work with managers on person-centered assessments covering care needs, environmental suitability, risk management, and transition planning.
* Complete and submit needs assessments with costings and support package requirements.
* Coordinate the assessment process and internal referral meetings.
* Develop a responsive referral and assessment pathway aligned with best practice.
* Act as the first point of contact for stakeholders ensuring timely and responsive communication.

Day-to-day, you’ll nurture strong relationships with colleagues across the global majority and ensure every story reflects the lived realities of the communities we work with. You’ll support photography, video and story gathering commissions across Asia, Africa and Latin America, researching story leads, developing strong angles, liaising with teams worldwide and helping brief and contract photographers, videographers and journalists. You’ll move content through post-production; from translation and consent checks, to safeguarding reviews and story write ups, preparing everything for upload to our global content SharePoint. 

You’ll also help build a global network of freelance translators, editors and creative professionals, and curate strong existing stories and assets so they can be used across advocacy, fundraising, events, exhibitions and federation-wide communications. You may also support with training colleagues in best practice storytelling, contribute to internal and external meetings and help gather feedback to continually improve our processes.

When humanitarian emergencies strike, you will join the emergency communications team to help coordinate rapid content gathering. You’ll support with logistics, contracting in-country creatives, organising translation and ensuring testimonies and information are shaped into accurate, safe, timely content that reflects ActionAid’s feminist, anti-racist and decolonial principles.

We’re looking for someone with at least two years editorial, production or journalism experience, excellent research and writing skills, a sharp editorial eye and strong project management skills, as well as a commitment to telling stories with integrity, care and critical awareness.

About the Church Commissioners

Established in 1948, The Church Commissioners works to support the Church of England's ministry.

The main aspects to the work of the Church Commissioners are as follows:

Managing the endowment fund

The Investments team of c. 85 colleagues manages the Church's permanent endowment fund. This £11.1 billion fund (as at 31st December 2024) is one of the largest in the country and has its origins in Queen Anne's Bounty, which was established in 1704.

The fund represents a diverse investments portfolio, which is managed with a strong focus on responsible and ethical investments that enable the funding support for the Church of England to grow in line with agreed investment return targets.

Church-Facing Commissioner Teams

There are three Church-facing Commissioner Teams:

• The Church Buildings team of c. 35 colleagues supports dioceses and parishes with the care, conservation and development of historic church buildings, advises on permissions for changes to church buildings and provides guidance on architectural and heritage matters. It helps churches adapt for worship and community use and works with government to advise on policies that affect church buildings;
• The Mission & Pastoral Services team of c. 10 colleagues supports the creation, merger and closure of parishes and benefices. It oversees the adjustment of parish boundaries, supports dioceses on the legal framework for pastoral change, and handles the legal steps when a church building is no longer required for public worship, including finding suitable alternative uses or disposal;
• The Bishoprics & Cathedrals team of c. 40 colleagues advises on the provision of suitable housing and office accommodation for diocesan bishops and archbishops, funding bishops' working costs, and supporting cathedrals in their governance and sustainability. It also oversees , the historic library and record office of the Archbishops of Canterbury and the main archive for the documentary history of the Church of England.

Central Support and Governance

Overall, there are c. 10 colleagues in the Central support and governance team:

• The Commissioners' Secretariat team supports the Chief Executive, senior trustees and Board in all aspects of their governance;
• The Engagement Manager is responsible for working closely with a wide variety of Commissioners' teams to help ensure that the Church Commissioners has effective engagement with a wide variety of Stakeholders;
• The Strategic Programme management team varies in size depending on the strategic projects currently underway (see below for further details).

Church of England Central Services (ChECS)

The Church Commissioners is supported by a number of key enabling teams which are part of the Church of England Central Services. This NCI consists of Finance, Assurance, Technology, Data, Project Management, Communications and Legal teams. The ChECS team is c. 150 colleagues.

The Church Commissioners is accountable to Parliament, General Synod and, as a registered charity, to the Charity Commission. The Archbishop of Canterbury is the Commissioners' Chair and the current Deputy Chair is the Bishop of Salisbury. Three of the Commissioners' trustees are known as Church Estates Commissioners (CECs), who will be key stakeholders for this role. The First CEC chairs the Assets (investment) Committee and the Second CEC is an MP who helps exercise accountability to Parliament. Both are appointed by HM The King on the advice of the Prime Minister. The Third CEC chairs committees that oversee the work of the Church-facing Commissioner Teams and is appointed by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

The Director of Strategy and Engagement has direct responsibility for Central Support and Governance, comprising the Commissioners' Secretariat (4 colleagues), the Engagement Manager and the Strategic Programme Management team (c. 5 colleagues). Additional Strategic Programme team members may be added as further strategic projects are commissioned.

Strategic focus

• Support the Chief Executive and Board with the development, articulation and delivery of the Commissioners' strategic business plan to enable it to support the mission and ministry of the Church of England, engaging widely and authentically in so doing;
• Act as a close adviser and sounding board for the Chief Executive and leadership team, ensuring the provision of accurate and timely advice, briefings and presentations;
• Assist in developing and delivering plans and projects to give life to the business plan.

Communications and stakeholder engagement

• Advise on, and support, stakeholder engagement. Develop and implement engagement and communications strategies for key stakeholders and leaders, e.g., bishops, parliamentarians, dioceses and General Synod (the Church's legislative and deliberative body). This includes major projects and programmes of work and liaison with the Communications team;

Leadership and wider context

• Keep up to date with current events, trends and concerns which might affect the work of the Commissioners, NCIs and the wider Church;
• Support the wider Church as a senior leader, contributing to the development of the NCIs. Draw connections between operational activities in different teams, and with other NCI activities where appropriate.

• A salary of c.£95,000 plus age-related pension contributions between 8-15% of salary. We will also match any pension contributions you make up to an additional 3% of your salary.

Job Purpose

Within the National Influencing & Networks team, the Digital Communications Officer is responsible for delivering core communications functions. The postholder will work directly with the Director of National Influencing and Networks to plan communications activity in line with organisational objectives, and to deliver planned, regular and ad-hoc outputs. They will also work closely with the Area Engagement and Partnerships Team. It is desirable for the postholder to bring innovative video editing and production expertise, along with strong digital content creation skills, to enhance Clinks’ communications reach and impact.

Duties and key responsibilities

· Contribute to the continued development of communications outputs of relevance to the voluntary sector working in criminal justice

· Deliver Clinks’ communications functions to ensure our work and the voluntary sector is promoted in an accurate and timely manner.

· Contribute to Clinks’ communications outputs through oversight of the organisational communications planner, supporting the development of timelines and executing as appropriate

· Responsible for publication and design of organisational policy reports, e-bulletins, newsletters, blog posts, ad-hoc publications and other relevant digital outputs

· Responsible for the collation and distribution of Clinks’ Light Lunch on a weekly basis as well as newsflashes, women’s network updates and art alliance updates

· Provide communications and digital expertise to all Clinks staff, including planning of social media, publications or key deliverables including Clinks’ annual State of the sector research

As a Support Worker you will be expected to undertake duties and work as part of the staff team to support customers with daily support to achieve personal goals by using person centred approach.

What you'll do:
* Work proactively with the team to handle the service caseload and support an effective team approach to meeting each customer's identified needs.

About the opportunity
Action Tutoring is the largest tutoring charity in the country. At the heart of our work is closing the attainment gap for pupils facing disadvantage in the UK by harnessing the power of tutoring. We are seeking an inspiring and strategic Interim Chief Executive Officer (maternity cover) to lead our growing charity, ensuring the charity continues to achieve benchmark-beating results for the pupils we support. In 2025-26, our work will reach 7,000 pupils supported by more than 80 staff and 2,500 volunteer tutors.  This role would suit someone with experience of interim senior leadership roles, wanting to make a difference in an area with proven impact on outcomes for children and young people.

The charity is rapidly scaling up, recently doubling its annual support to £6 million. Degrees has partnered with leading climate change funders and research partners including the Quadrature Climate Foundation, Open Philanthropy, Crankstart, Navigation Fund, Outlier Projects, LAD Climate Fund and UK Advanced Research and Invention Agency (ARIA). Transparency of funding is essential to our work. We do not accept support from anonymous donors or funding from the fossil fuel industry. Fundraising for the organisation has been led by the Founder and CEO, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Chief of Staff, and the Chair of the Trustees with the support of an experienced Senior Philanthropy Advisor.

We now seek a full-time team member to build on this base. Reporting to the COO, and working closely with senior staff and the Chair, the Development Manager will support high‑performing fundraising that secures multi‑year, diversified funding. He / she will also introduce robust processes for pipeline management and donor stewardship and manage the complete donor lifecycle (from identification to cultivation to solicitation and stewardship) of a portfolio of top prospects. We are seeking a proactive, confident, and relationship-driven Partnerships & Growth Officer to contribute to Bridging the Bar’s external income and growth activities. As the cycle progresses, you will be responsible for outreach and renewals, onboarding, benefit delivery, and ongoing relationship management.

As Partnerships & Growth Officer, you will be responsible for:

• Researching and identifying potential major sponsors, and conducting proactive outreach to engage organisations aligned with our programmes and new initiatives

In addition to established activities, Bridging the Bar pursues new and emerging initiatives to support long-term financial sustainability, programme expansion, and reputational growth. This includes in our current development phase; a Chambers focused accreditation scheme, high-value individual giving, and crowdfunding campaigns. Future expansion has the scope to include other opportunities whether identified by the organisation or by you. You will help develop, test, and implement these initiatives as they evolve.

As Partnerships & Growth Officer, you will be responsible for:

• Overseeing the pilot of the accreditation scheme including; conducting meetings with pilot chambers, co-ordinating with consultants, ensuring deliverable are met, assisting with evaluation and refinement, supporting materials production

• Overseeing the initial stages of our high value individual giving work stream including; identifying potential givers, conducting relevant meetings, co-ordinating with suppliers, dispatching thank you gifts, and supporting materials production and distribution 

• Developing crowd funding and fundraising initiatives including; innovating themes for targeted campaigns, overseeing campaign delivery, co-ordinating with volunteer fundraisers, administering recurring donations, and supporting materials production and distribution

Other Duties 

Beyond core responsibilities, you will also support wider organisational activities as needed. This may involve assisting with the BarNav newsletter, representing Bridging the Bar at events, and completing additional tasks that contribute to the charity’s overall effectiveness.

• Overseeing production of the BarNav newsletter including; brainstorming issues themes, co-ordinating contributions from partners, sponsors, staff, and/or candidates, compiling contributions and drafting final issue in Canva, and collaborating with the programmes team to ensure distribution of each issue.

• Providing support to the Head of Operations and programmes where needed including; taking meeting minutes, supporting production of financial reports, and assisting with presenting to the Board 

• Collaborating with operations and programmes departments to support cross-functional delivery

• Representing BTB at BTB hosted events, relevant sector events, award ceremonies, or grant briefings where required

Main Responsibilities:

Our FOOD (Food On Our Doorstep) programme aims to: provide regular access to a sustainable supply of food to people at risk of food insecurity; encourage families to access local support services and be signposted to other agencies; increase disposable income for local families to improve life chances and wellbeing; reduce the amount of food being sent to landfill in the UK by utilising surplus food.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

1. Supporting all aspects of the day-to-day running of the programme to ensure the clubs have high standards of service delivery.

2. Supporting the FOOD Club Coordinator to carry out regular compliance checks to ensure the quality and safety of the service, in order to protect service users and Family Action.

3. Ensuring all aspects of the role are carried out in line with food safety/hygiene standards.

4. Ensure volunteers are using up-to-date allergies forms to prevent any risk to service users.

5. Support the FOOD Club Coordinator with financial checks, stock control, recruitment, induction and training of volunteers.

6. Recording accurate data to enable the FOOD Club Coordinator to report on KPIs, including uptake of the scheme, service user income, and the positive financial impact on families.

7. Encourage regular attendance at FOOD Clubs to ensure income is maintained and to prevent food wastage.

8. Provide regular feedback to the FOOD Club Coordinator on the quality of food and resources from suppliers.

About the role 

The Head of Marketing will play a pivotal role in strengthening the financial sustainability and social impact of our organisation. This 12-month position—open to both employees and consultants—will lead on the continued design and the implementation our marketing strategy across our three social businesses: our women’s-only gym and studio, our community café, and our meeting room hire service.

The gym embodies our commitment to preventative health and creates an inclusive community where women of all ages and backgrounds can focus on their strength, resilience, and self-care. As a cornerstone of our trading model, it sustains our mission while directly advancing it.

The gym has seen significant growth in both membership and the breadth of its offer, establishing itself as a trusted and empowering space for women’s health and wellbeing. With excellent member retention rates and a strong reputation for inclusivity, safety, and quality, the gym is now well positioned for its next stage of development. The Café – Nourishing Food, Nurturing Community

Our café is the social heart of The Bridge — a welcoming, accessible, and inclusive space where everyone can connect, share, and feel at home. Serving seasonal, plant-based meals prepared in-house, the café champions women-led enterprises and affordable, healthy food. It hosts many of our wellbeing and creative programmes, and through initiatives like the Pay-What-You-Can Supper Club, supports emerging women chefs and builds everyday acts of care and solidarity. The café has the opportunity to not only advances our mission of improving women’s health and wellbeing but also generates vital trading income and partnership opportunities.

While it currently operates at a deficit, it plays a vital role in advancing our wellbeing and community objectives. We are now focused on realising its full commercial potential. A feasibility study is underway to explore a range of operational and business models that will transition the café into a sustainable, profit-making enterprise. Plans include expanding income-generating opportunities through hosting more events, developing an external catering offer, and maximising use of the space for private hire and functions during weekends. This work will ensure the café continues to embody our values while contributing significantly to the financial sustainability of The Bridge

Room Hire – Spaces that Enable Collaboration and Impact

Our professional meeting and event spaces are used by charities, community groups, and corporate partners for workshops, training, and strategic planning. With over 500 bookings a year and a 89% return rate, these rooms are known for their quality, warmth, and service. The income they generate supports our wider mission, while also acting as a catalyst for new partnerships and collaborations.

We now aim to build on this success by increasing utilisation on our most popular days (Tuesday to Thursday) and attracting new clients to fill capacity on Mondays, Fridays, evenings, and weekends. Plans include developing loyalty packages for regular clients and introducing new offers such as team wellbeing days that align with our health and wellbeing ethos. This approach will not only maximise income potential but also strengthen The Bridge’s role as a space where organisations connect, collaborate, and thrive.
