We are looking for a People Policy & Engagement Partner to join the National Theatre People Team.

The purpose of the role

The People Team provide advice, guidance and support to all National Theatre staff, line managers and senior leaders on people policies; terms and conditions of employment; recruitment and selection; performance management; staff engagement; diversity and inclusion; trade union and employee relations; discipline, grievance, and capability processes; and training and career development. We pride ourselves on providing a customer-focused, flexible, and agile service and aim to support and facilitate an open and inclusive culture where all staff can thrive.

The successful applicant for this role will lead on the development and review of employment policies, undertaking benchmarking and researching best practice to ensure the NT has a full range of accessible and inclusive policies. They will analyse and interpret business intelligence and workforce data to inform policy development and decision making whilst working with colleagues to develop guidance and training for managers and act as the department’s central advisory expertise. They will also lead on work related to the NT’s pay framework and policy and manage engagement surveys, developing routine reporting and analysis.

The successful candidate will have the following: 

• Experience across a range of People functions that demonstrates an ability to work autonomously across a range of functions, including generalist, policy development, reward and interpreting terms and conditions.
• Experience of analysing and presenting information both written and verbally in informal and formal settings.
• Experience of working with information, databases and ability to interrogate and analyse data.
• Experience of working in a flexible and pragmatic way to problem-solving. Able to seek and exploit opportunities to advance objectives.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively orally, digitally and in writing adapting the message for a diverse audience in an inclusive and accessible way.

Finance Manager

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations you will provide operational management of the finance department of the school, ensuring accurate financial reporting, appropriate financial controls are in place, that cash is managed prudently and that the department provides timely and relevant support to the business

Key Responsibilities include:

• Manage the finance team and the day to day running of the Finance Department to support the operation of the Prep and Senior School and subsidiary companies.
• Prepare management accounts, including balance sheet for the School and its subsidiaries each month showing the financial performance and position of each entity compared with budget, and produce a concise commentary on variances and other matters of significance and review with the DFO
• Providing information for the DFO and Finance and Council meetings as required
• With the DFO, prepare annual budgets for review
• Manage the annual audit and prepare audit files for submission by required date and manage the audit onsite field work team
• Prepare the annual Statement of Financial Activities and Balance Sheets for the School and its enterprise and international companies
• Assist DFO in preparation of annual Directors' Report
• Prepare monthly cash statements and aged debtor analyses
• Prepare cash flow statements each term
• Ensure the fixed asset register is maintained and depreciation calculated accurately
• Ensure that all intercompany transactions are properly reflected in the accounts of each company and in the consolidated financial statements of the School
• Prepare group VAT returns for the School's and subsidiaries and monitor non-VATable transactions for the Charity in respect of registration requirements
• Reverse VAT charges for overseas agents

The organisation Working with a very well-established charitable foundation, the organisation comprises of three independent schools and two state-funded academies.

They are the holding company which owns the school land and buildings and manages the endowments valued at c.£50m. The Foundation Office delivers a "head office" type finance function for the Group and a range of other services to the schools, including governance and HR.

Your role The Group Finance Manager will work within a small team and an extended team of around 15-20 finance staff in the schools. The post reports to the Group Finance Director and the finance function are assisted by a part-time Finance Officer. The core part of the role is the production of the
annual report. You will also manage the group cash treasury system, managing 20+ bank accounts.

You will manage significant investments and investment property. You will also maintain an accurate cash flow forecast for the group. The annual audit is also a major part of the work, and you will be expected to play a key part in the management of the audit and preparation of the financial information for both the Foundation, and its trading subsidiaries and charitable trusts. There are significant capital projects in the pipeline which will also require support.

• Recent experience of group consolidation and reconciliation of intercompany balances

Duties and key responsibilities

Community fundraising

• Manage and develop regional fundraising by devising a regional community fundraising strategy for income generation.
• Design and develop Sarcoma UK's calendar of annual community fundraising campaigns and events communication, including Cuppa and Cake.
• Introduce fundraising opportunities to our existing and potential supporters through a multi-channelled marketing strategy to grow levels of engagement and participation.
• Identify opportunities and recruit new community fundraisers, fundraising groups, corporate and school partners.
• Work with the Fundraising team to produce regular feedback reports and analysis on specific community products and overall revenue.
• Lead on promotion of community fundraising through digital marketing, PR, speaking engagements and on the ground fundraising.

Management

• Provide line management and day-to-day support to the Regional Fundraising Officer North, building their fundraising knowledge.

Income Generation

• Implement agreed KPIs, objectives and budget for the Regional Fundraising Team to drive support and engagement.
• Identify fundraising products, key accounts, and projects that will support income growth both locally and nationally.

Processes, administration, and reporting

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date supporter records on Sarcoma UK’s database (Raiser’s Edge).
• Ensure all recording, and stewardship processes are up to date and working across the fundraising team, wider charity and in accordance with current laws and regulations.
• Ensure necessary Community Fundraising policies are up to date.
• Follow Sarcoma UK’s processes and procedures including risk assessments to ensure a consistent approach and maintain a high level of support expected by our donors and fundraisers.
• Ensure that all activities are compliant with legislation governing fundraising including GDPR, health and safety, Institute of Fundraising, and the Fundraising Regulator Code of Conduct.

Wider fundraising

• Support company and corporate partnerships that utilise community and trade fundraising.
• Support third party fundraising and challenge event portfolio.
• Work with the Events Manager to develop merchandise and trade income opportunities.
• Support with managing merchandise supplier relationships and internal and external stock levels.

General

• The role requires some travel to events and meetings throughout the UK. Some weekend or evening work will also be required and time off in lieu will be given. Travel expenses will be reimbursed (exc. Travel to the Sarcoma UK office).
• Stay up to date with the latest knowledge in fundraising and ensure Sarcoma UK’s processes and procedures follow best practice.
• The post holder will be working in a developing environment, and they will therefore be required to undertake other appropriate duties as necessary for the efficient operation of Sarcoma UK.

We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our Finance Team in the role of Finance Assistant.

The Finance Assistant supports all aspects of the Hallé’s work at the Bridgewater Hall, the Hallé Venues and concert halls across the UK.

The Finance Assistant works in a department currently comprising Finance Director, Finance Manager, Assistant Finance Manager and Finance Assistant.

The department is responsible for all aspects of the financial affairs of the Society and its related trusts. The Finance Assistant is responsible to the Assistant Finance Manager.

They take responsibility for processing the day-to-day transactions of the company across purchase ledger, sales ledger and the cash book, and ensure the smooth operation of the office. They will also need to work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider Hallé as well as with external customers and suppliers.

The post is full-time permanent based on a 36.25-hour week. Our core office hours are 09.00-17:15, from Monday to Friday. There is an option to work up to 50% of hours from home.

The Seafarers’ Charity has been improving the lives of those who work at sea, and their families, for over 100 years. Established in 1917 as The King George’s Fund for Sailors, to support the families of seafarers lost at sea during World War One, we support seafarers throughout their seafaring careers and beyond. We are the largest independent grant funder of maritime welfare charities – with at least £2 million in funding injected into supporting the safety and welfare of seafarers each and every year

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Office Manager to join our team on a 14 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. You will be a highly organised, practical and friendly person to manage our office operations, the role is diverse and will suite an all-rounder who is proficient in multi-tasking and problem solving.

You will run a welcoming office for staff and guests and be encouraged to identify and work on new operational projects that will enhance the organisation. You will be central point of contact for H&S and Facilities management, proactively overseeing all aspects of facilities maintenance and managing contractor relationships.
