Kitchen Assistants x 2 – Day Care Centres
Age UK Camden Day Care Centres are looking to recruit two Kitchen Assistants across our two Day Care Centres based in Kings Cross and Hampstead. (Staff are expected to be able to work at both locations as required)
We have a dedicated, specialist team supporting people with care needs, including those living with mild - moderate dementia and complex needs.
Our Centres provide a wide range of activities as well as being a specialist Day Care Centres caring for older people with complex needs. The Day Care Centres also provide a hot lunch which enjoyed by our clients.
The successful candidate will:

Support the Chef and other Day Centre staff in food service delivery during lunch time periods

Support the Chef and other Day Centre staff in the preparation of food and drink

Be responsible for keeping kitchen areas clean, tidy and sanitized

Be responsible for washing up of all dirty dishes, cooking utensils and other cooking equipment

Supervise kitchen trainees in appropriate skills. (when applicable)

Ensure that the kitchen is clean, orderly and managed to the highest standards of food hygiene and safety at all times.
Salary: £13.15 ph London Living Wage
Hours: 10 hours a week across Monday to Friday 11.30 am to 1.30 pm
Contract Type: Permanent

Since 2003, we have been harnessing the power of skiing & snowboarding to break down barriers, broaden horizons and address the biggest social issues facing underserved young people today.
Our accredited programmes are unique and attractive to young people who are less likely to engage with mainstream provision. Taking them from beginner to qualified snowsports instructors in just one year with volunteering and apprenticeship progression routes available at the end. Alongside learning to ski or snowboard, young people also have access to wellbeing support with the emphasis on improving young people’s mental health and wellbeing.
This is a really exciting opportunity to play a key role in Snow Camp’s development in London, with programmes running from The Snow Centre, Hemel Hempsted. So, if you love working with young people and have solid experience delivering youth programmes, combined with a passion for snowsports – and if you are looking for a challenging and rewarding role working with a committed team of staff at Snow Camp and some amazing young people – this job could be the job for you!
Experience of working successfully with underserved young people in a range of settings will be essential to the post. Furthermore, experience within a snowsports field and passion for supporting young people generally will be a huge advantage!
Project management, logistical skills, relationship management, communication and presentation skills will all make up the job. Along with youth work experience to deliver life-skills or group workshops to motivate young people to work towards meaningful goals – these will all make up the job.
This is a key post requiring at least 2 years’ experience involving the above skills, together with proven project management and budgeting experience.

Salary: £30,000 per annum plus 10% bonus (£3000) paid in July each year = £33,000 total.

You’ll have an active role providing LGBTQ+ affirmative support for LGBTQ+ children and young people.
This is an exciting job opportunity to join a dynamic and committed team in a front-line role to support and deliver the activities and services of elop’s LGBTQ+ Children & Young People’s Service.
In this role you will have opportunity to design and deliver innovative youth support programmes, groups & other activities; provide LGBTQ+ affirmative support, guidance and mentoring on a one- to- one basis; work with our wider family work programme, support families with LGBTQ+ children and deliver work in schools to students & teaching staff.
You will have lead responsibility for our LGBTQ+ Young Peoples Service, including promotion, & administration, along with the induction, support & supervision of sessional staff & volunteers.
Initially you will be working remotely via home-based working whilst elop relocates its offices & centre transitioning back to fulltime in-person working & service provision during 2024. Some services are in person in East London.
Full Time: 37 hours per week
You must be available to work Tuesday evenings & once a month on a Sunday afternoon. There will be other evenings and occasional other weekend working required.
