The Finance department provides the complete finance function which includes payroll to the whole organisation overseeing all the 165 services across England, addressing all issues and processing payments to meet the demands of staff and external agencies.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will be responsible for the ongoing development and implementation of the new itrent payroll system, configurations are as per the requirements of the organisation and ensuring that the project is completed on time and goes live successfully. You will be a confident communicator and comfortable working in a small team environment where priorities can change at short notice. 

Main Responsibilities:

• To work closely with MHR, HR Team and consultants to ensure that tasks are scheduled and completed to meet project timelines.
• To co-ordinate work with HR and Payroll colleagues to ensure all relevant payroll processes are captured, reviewed, and, where necessary or appropriate, changed to ensure they are fit for purpose with the new system.
• To be responsible and manage the configuration of the new modules, working with HR and Payroll colleagues, MHR and other consultants to ensure that it is configured to Family Action’s requirements and that the rationale and effects of our chosen configuration is clearly documented.
• To work alongside the HR Systems and Operation Managers to ensure that the HR and Payroll teams are trained and supported in the effective use of the system as pertains to their roles.
• To be responsible and manage user testing of the new system and any parallel runs as part of the implementation process.
• To act as the Payroll System Administrator for iTrent, taking the lead on technical functionality and expertise and liaising with MHR as required for technical solutions.
• To support the Payroll team with other ad hoc duties, as may be required for running an effective and efficient payroll system.

Main Requirements (for details check the job description and person specification):

• CIPP qualified or significant experience working in Payroll in a Payroll  Manager or payroll system development and implementation role
• Significant experience using and administrating itrent payroll systems, including liaison with system providers.
• Experience of implementing payroll system(s).
• Experience configuring systems in accordance with specific and complex requirements.
• Experience leading on projects.
• An excellent in-depth knowledge and understanding of HR and payroll processes.
• Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to think creatively and decisively to solve problems.
• Demonstrable ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively, both internally within and across teams, and with external partners.
• An excellent understanding of payroll and related legislation, including pension, absences etc regulations
• A high level of proficiency using Microsoft Office, in particular use of Excel to manipulate data.

Based in Surrey, the Orpheus Centre is an independent specialist college and charity that focuses on developing independence skills through performing and visual arts and makes dramatic improvements to young disabled adults’ lives.  We are currently looking for a driven and pro-active Events Fundraiser to develop, coordinate and deliver the charity’s fundraising events and orchestrate experiences from initial concept to post event analysis. We are recruiting for an Admissions and Assessment Coordinator to join our Specialist Family Residential Service in Sheffield. The service provides drug and alcohol recovery support for parents and their children in a residential setting.

The hours are full time, Monday to Friday 9-5, based at the Sheffield Family Residential Service, and you will be expected to take part in a on call rota to support the staff and service delivery. Flexible working can be considered.

The service is based close to Eccelsall Road/Sheffield Hallam Collegiate Campus area of Sheffield, it is easily accessible. Situated in a large Victorian Building, fully refurbished in 2022, there is free on-site parking as well and is also easily access by multiple bus routes.

The Role

We need someone who can work in a team within a residential family setting and be empowering and passionate in supporting families to make positive changes in their drug and alcohol lifestyle choices. Your role would include the following:

• To manage all enquiries and referrals made to the service, undertake comprehensive needs assessments and risk assessment for individuals.
• Liaise with Residential Manager to make placement decisions about the suitability of individuals with multiple needs.
• Welcome new residents into the service and ensure all needs of the individuals are met upon arrival.
• Be responsible for data management of referrals, assessments, ensuring all admissions are managed safely and report data in line with processes in place.
• Liaise with referrers and stakeholders to ensure promotion of new relationships and existing relationships are maintained

Whilst the service is 24/7, this role is Monday to Friday with flexible working opportunities.  

About You

• Experience of working with people and families with multiple and varying needs including addiction and have a working knowledge of residential rehabilitation and strengthening recovery capital.
• Experienced in working with multiple stakeholders and nurturing relationships, you will be able to confidently provide guidance and support to individuals, families, and stake holders in relation to accessing and developing residential rehabilitation pathways into the service.
• Experience of completing robust assessments and risk management plans.

Overall Duties of the Administration Officer will include:

• Using Excel, Word, and an in-house database to record and monitor information

Youth Engagement Officer  

Location: Hybrid. Expected to be in our London office in Victoria at least one day per week. You can be remote every other day or come into the office. Your office days are flexible and can be agreed with your manager, other than for monthly team days where you must be in person. Some nationwide travel expected for Youth Steering Group training days, events and conferences. After passing probation, up to six weeks ‘super remote’ working per year, where you can work anywhere in the world as long as you’re online for four hours of the UK workday.

Ensure the Fair Education Youth Summit is a success and remains truly youth-led  

Our Youth Steering Group design and run the annual Fair Education Youth Summit. The event is led by young people for young people and brings together young changemakers from across our membership and the wider education and youth sectors to develop their youth leadership skills, collaborate on campaigns, and engage directly with decision makers. You will support the young people to design sessions, secure speakers, embed past feedback and plan the event structure. You will also support with the event logistics, guestlist management, participant communications and collecting attendee feedback.

Support our members to improve their youth engagement practice  

Our Youth Engagement Working Group supports FEA members and other sector organsiations to increase and improve their own youth engagement practice. You will support the management of logistics, promote the workshops, and communicate with working group members. Role - Responsible for the development and implementation of the service communication strategy and plan, including the production and distribution of information, oversight of our online presence and development of work around AI for the benefit of the VCSE sector. Background (Summary)

Enhance is the newly funded VCSE infrastructure support service in Redcar and Cleveland made possible through the collaboration of a number of funders to fill a gap in local provision. 

Lloyds Bank Foundation, Rank Foundation, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, Tees Foundation and the Woodsmith Foundation have provided three years of funding and commissioned MVDA to develop and deliver a VCSE infrastructure service (Enhance) in Redcar and Cleveland.

Enhance will provide practical support to VCSE organisations based in the Redcar and Cleveland area who deliver services to local people and communities. 

The service model for Enhance is based on three key areas:

Improvement – Providing practical support through an information and advice service.  This will include for example advice on governance, funding, policy and practice

Growth - The development and delivery of a comprehensive training programme for all VCSEs in Redcar and Cleveland

Influence - Work to support the building and development of relationships; collaborative work across the VCSE sector and cross-sector partnerships

The service will be based in Redcar and Cleveland and will provide an outreach service in the more rural areas of the borough to ensure the services are accessible to all local VCSEs.

Key Responsibilities

Relationship Management

• Provide tailored, high-quality stewardship to a range of large and medium-sized Trusts & Foundations.
