The Finance Business Partner will support and assist the Senior Finance Manager in providing day to day financial and management accounting for the Charity, ensuring accurate, timely and efficient delivery of the accounting services for the Charity.

This role is a job share on a part time permanent basis, 22.5 hours per week.  We require the successful candidate to work Monday and Thursday however third day is flexible.

Principal duties include:

• To provide business partner support and be the first point of contact to each of the Directorates in MMUK for all expenditure related matters. ​

• Establish regular communication with each of the Directorates to support existing business processes and provide guidance for any potential changes to business processes which have a financial impact. Communicate any relevant changes back to the wider Finance Team.​

• To prepare and analyse monthly expenditure against budget, investigating and documenting explanations for any significant variances, and liaising with directorates for review.​

• To prepare monthly management information (expenditure).​

• To lead on the preparation of the annual expenditure budget.​

• To prepare consolidated income and expenditure budget. ​

• To lead on expenditure forecasting.​

• To prepare quarterly VAT returns for submission to HMRC.​

Main responsibilities

Press and PR:  

• Manage the UK Press Office and deliver a timely, accurate and professional response to media enquiries.

A project has been established that is currently working with 33 schools and 33 churches in developing discipleship pathways for children and young people in Bolton. One key aspect of this project is the ‘Shades Project’, which focuses on racial justice and faith, supporting schools and churches in developing a culture for all children and young people, regardless of racial background, to thrive and flourish. In response to the exciting growth of the Shades Project, they are looking to appoint a Shades Project Worker to support the growing opportunities for Christian discipleship and to embed the Shades ethos in primary and secondary schools and parishes in Bolton deanery. 

The Shades Project Worker will work with the Shades team in primary and secondary schools, delivering Shades Collective Worship and Shades ‘Faith and Identity’ workshops. They will also lead Shades Ambassadors groups for those children and young people who are passionate about growing in their understanding of racial justice, the Christian faith, and becoming courageous advocates. The Shades Project Worker will also work with Bolton parishes and mission communities to promote the Christian message of God’s love for all of his children, encouraging children, young people, and adults to celebrate their God-given identities and to grow spiritually. 

The Shades Project Worker will have many opportunities for training and development, as well as the creative freedom to develop initiatives for children and young people. They will work within a highly motivated and supportive team, who are committed to prayer and to welcoming children and young people into the life of the church. 

The post holder should have experience of volunteering with children or young people in a church and/or school context. They will have a good knowledge of anti-racism and racial justice and a strong passion for a combined focus on the Christian faith and racial justice, as well as experience working with diverse communities.

We are seeking a Head of Finance to lead on the charity's finances and accounts.

The Head of Finance has lead responsibility for overseeing the finance function of the organisation.  The role reports directly to the Chief Executive, is a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and works closely with the Board of Trustees and in particular with the Treasurer.  The post holder also has responsibility for the line management of the Finance Officer and the Feeding Service Administrator (Finance Team).

Working with SMT colleagues, this role leads on all financial reporting and analysis to the team and to the Trustee Board and Finance Committee, the preparation of monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts.

The Head of Finance leads the annual audit and preparation of the annual report and accounts working closely with the Chief Executive, Treasurer and Chair of Trustees. EDUCATION FOR ALL MOROCCO transforms the lives of marginalised girls, in the High Atlas mountains, enabling them to fulfil their potential, reducing social injustice and inequalities, improving the quality of life for women, and their communities.

Prior to the Al Haouz earthquake in September 2023 EFA funded six boarding houses, enabling young women to access senior school education. Five boarding houses were destroyed. Astonishingly, no girls or staff were in them at the time.

We are unashamedly ambitious to build on EFAs transformational work over the last two decades. Our Covid Recovery Strategy focussed on widening our impact, and the earthquake has just made us even more determined to deliver on our promise, because we have never been more relevant.

Due to the extraordinary generosity of donors, we have funding in place to support a major rebuilding programme. However we don't want to simply rebuild. Due to covid and the earthquake there is a lot of catching up to do.

As Head of Fundraising & Communications you will work with the trustees to deliver the strategic vision, by developing and implementing a  successful fundraising and communications strategy.  A new website is under construction and the successful applicant will play a leading role in determining its fundraising functionality, content, and messaging.

As Finance & Operations Administrator you will have a key role to play working closely with the trustees and Head of Fundraising & Communications to co-ordinate activities,  to ensure day to day operations in the UK run smoothly.  

The role as advertised covers a broad range of activities. However there will be peaks and troughs of workload. 

This job is for you if you are:

-  A qualified accountant or bookkeeper with experience of Xero ideal (training can be provided).

- Confident working with Microsoft Office (Excel & Word) & Shared drive (eg, GoogleDocs).

-  Support the Chair of Governance ensuring Trustee and Staff Handbooks (policies and protocols), risk register, are uptodate and accessible via the website portal. About You

You will have experience of working across organisations to gather powerful and impactful stories and of building and maintaining relationships with different stakeholders. You will have a proven track record of successfully selling stories into local media and of managing stories in a database, including measuring and reporting on campaign performance.

About the Organisation

The charity seeks to share joy through live music with people receiving care or treatment in healthcare settings across the UK, including those who are vulnerable, the elderly, those with dementia and in critical care.

Skilled musicians are carefully selected through a process of audition. Director of Research (Maternity Cover)

The My Name’5 Doddie Foundation has a single, clear vision: a world free of Motor Neuron Disease (MND). In the relentless pursuit of this goal, we are committed to funding research projects to accelerate the development of meaningful treatments, focusing on the projects that are most likely to impact people with MND positively.

The Director of Research is a key position in the organisation that leads our research activities, managing a small team as we invest in a prioritised and focused research portfolio. Working alongside the CEO and senior leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing a research strategy that fits seamlessly with the Foundation’s vision, ensuring we have the expertise and resources required to support our programme and initiatives.

As someone with experience working in a scientific research role, you will have the ability to interpret, analyse and utilise research findings and developments, with a deep understanding of the drug discovery and development landscape. You will be someone who constantly seeks out new research approaches, methodologies and funding models, ensuring that the Foundation remains at the forefront with its innovative practices. Knowledge of the research grants system is essential; we’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running. You will care about the impact of our work, developing an excellent understanding of the MND field and placing those living with MND at the heart of every decision you make, while ensuring all funded projects continue to meet our goals and financial requirements.

Strong communication skills are central to this role. The successful candidate will be comfortable demonstrating our expertise and position in the MND community and communicating developments, insights and critical milestones both internally and externally. Influencing and relationship building will come naturally to you, and you’ll be the kind of person who can work with diverse personalities from a wide variety of professional backgrounds. Playing a key role in championing the Foundation, you will also lead the ambitions of the organisation. Your contribution will be integral to our success.
