About the RSS and this role
The Royal Statistical Society (RSS) is one of the world’s leading organisations advocating for the importance of statistics and data, which have never been more vital. We’re looking for an exceptional, experienced business development professional who can help us increase our impact.
The main purpose of this role is to create and manage a pipeline of customers, from initial research, through to strong leads, and ultimately sales. Working closely with teams within the Society to research, follow up and develop strong leads, you will participate in events and marketing activities as needed, and develop and maintain a working database of contacts within our CRM system, to enable effective logging and tracking of potential customers.
The Society offers a diverse range of products from training, sponsorship and professional accreditation and you will be expected to understand these business models and work with teams to maximise their revenue generating potential.
As this is a new role, you’ll have the unique opportunity to build the role around you, with flexibility to play to your strengths and manage your own projects independently. You will be required to act as an ambassador of the charity in everything you do; we are looking for someone who is going to embody the charities ethos and who will keep the charity at the heart of all the decisions that are made.
We are particularly keen to hear from individuals who really want to work for a charity or not for profit organisation. While not essential, some familiarity with developments within data science, statistics, machine learning, AI and related subject areas would be an advantage.
Our Head of Business Development will:
- Work with wider RSS staff to develop our understanding of the preferences and needs of key internal and external markets to ensure our services align with those preferences and needs.
- Monitor emerging trends in statistics/data science/AI and keep track of competitors to ensure RSS services remain relevant and current.
- Understand key policy and strategy objectives of the RSS and develop, plan and where appropriate implement sales strategies to support those objectives, working closely with other colleagues as required.
- Understand the range of products delivered by the Society and create business development strategies and plans to maximise their commercial value.

The Fundraising and Business Development Team Administrator will form part of a five-strong team led by our Head of Fundraising and Business Development. Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities are:
Corporate Fundraising
- Support corporate fundraising by completing due diligences on potential partners (you will be trained how to do this), organising corporate visits, volunteering days, supporting corporate fundraising events, keeping corporate partners up to date with our news etc and organising meetings.
Trusts and Foundations
- Support trusts and foundations fundraising by supporting on funder research (again you will be fully trained how to do this) and contributing to a constant pipeline of potential funders for the team to approach.

Events
- Support the team by recording and sending fundraising materials to those raising money for us through events and challenge event.

General
- To be the first point of contact for all fundraising enquiries that come in by telephone, email, and post.

We are keen to employ THREE part-time Practitioners – TWO working daytime shifts (8am to 8.30pm) and ONE Practitioner working night shifts. (8pm to 8.30am).
Children & Young People’s Residential Practitioners

Part-time Practitioners work two 12-hr shifts per week. One shift Monday to Friday plus either a Saturday or a Sunday shift. You will also need to be available for meetings, training, and group thinking space – these take place on Fridays from 9.30am to 12.30pm. The total number of working hours is 27hrs per week.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Fundraising professional to join our team. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for fundraising and knowledge of the non-profit sector. Previous experience in a senior role in telephone fundraising, team leadership and account management will be essential. They will be a great communicator and team player, leading the Client Services team and the wider Purity team in delivering fundraising campaigns for amazing causes. You will be fully supported by the CEO and the wider Senior Leadership team. You will continue to develop the strong relationships we have built with our charity partners, evolving their telemarketing programmes, whilst growing and innovating to support their needs and organisation growth. The role encompasses all communication channels, working with the Digital Campaign Manager to develop digital and supporting communications.

About the Role
Reporting to the Director of People, a key focus of this role will be to provide hands-on management to an experienced People consisting of a People Support Manager and Talent Acquisition Coordinator.
However, it is much wider than team management; it is about relationships. Relationships with internal colleagues, relationships with Network contacts, and relationships with third party suppliers. Arts for Dementia is a small charity but a leader in our field. We work with artists, galleries, museums and community spaces to offer inspiring arts programmes for people in the early stages of dementia and their companions. We train facilitators from around the country in early stage dementia awareness and how to deliver effective arts-based activities for people living with dementia. Working with and supporting the Programmes and Communications Manager, alongside the Charity Administrator, to deliver creative programmes for people affected by dementia, including:

This position will lead the design, development and delivery of our strategic EDI learning program, supporting the needs of our whole workforce, including our volunteers. The successful candidate will develop close relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across the organisation, working collaboratively to support the transformation in behaviours and skills required to make the RSPB a more inclusive, diverse, and welcoming place for all. You’ll be a leader in the EDI space, with opportunities for creativity, innovation and thinking differently to how we engage and embed learning on inclusion, in an accessible, inspiring way.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a strategic EDI learning plan, to build the RSPB’s capability on a creating a more inclusive workplace culture.
- Align with L&OD team on creating consistency of learning approaches and key messages across the organisation’s learning offer.
- Build expert knowledge and skill within the organisation on EDI, prioritising any current programme key themes.
- Identify skills gaps and future learning requirements, keeping abreast of latest learning and development products and approaches. This would include a keen understanding and application of accessibility, neurodiversity and different learning needs, to support and upskill the EDI team and other colleagues.
- Curate, develop and design EDI learning content, including online, and assess relevant EDI learning and development options. Including workshops, action learning sets and peer support sessions.
- Working with EDI specialists to consider and incorporate a range of approaches and best practice to the EDI learning offers.
- Co-ordinate the logistics of training programmes and identify external training partners.
- Embed solid evaluation processes across learning interventions, analyse and provide reports on key recommendations and findings to stakeholders including programme board.

About Furthering Talent
Furthering Talent helps musicians from the earliest stage in their musical journey. The programme is specifically designed to help young people from low income families sustain their musical learning after initial state-funded whole-class lessons end, so they can keep on progressing and playing music well into their teens and beyond. The programme aims to effect significant change in how the musical potential of young people from low-income families is identified and supported.
Place of work: Home-based and other locations as required. An ability to travel, often nationally, is essential to carry out this role. All reasonable travel expenses can be reclaimed.
The role
You will be the first point of contact and support for the team of Connectors in your Hubs, attending Teachers’ Forums and Get Togethers where possible and helping with the coordination of data gathering and management. You will help drive the promotion of the Connector role and handle any incoming Connector enquiries via the Young Sounds website, allocating them to the appropriate Connector. You will oversee the mentoring and youth voice offer in each Hub. You will be a champion for Young Sounds’ musically inclusive approach throughout the sector and will support the promotion of Young Sounds’ CPD and learning resources, especially the Charanga hosted Individual Learning Plan.
