Job description

Westway Trust is seeking an organised, proactive and people-focused HR Administrator to join its HR team on a 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover). This varied generalist role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality administrative support across the employee lifecycle, while playing a key role in delivering an efficient, responsive and customer-focused HR service.

As the first point of contact for HR enquiries, you will provide timely and professional support to employees, managers and external stakeholders. Working closely with the wider HR team, you will support a range of day-to-day HR activities, helping to ensure people processes are delivered accurately, efficiently and in compliance with employment legislation, GDPR and organisational policies.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administration experience who is looking to build a career in HR.

This will be an office based role, initially.

Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:K

  • First point of contact for handling HR administrative enquiries.
  • Provide full administrative support to the recruitment and on-boarding of new starters.
  • Assist with the off-boarding process of employees.
  • Prepare various HR documents, including probation and employment offer letters.
  • Work closely with the Senior HR Managers on managing the staff appraisal process.
  • Maintain employee records and HR database in line with the GDPR guidelines.
  • Creating templates, forms and documents using excel and Microsoft applications.
  • Responsible for updating and managing staff training records and booking staff training.
  • Provide administration support on employee benefits related matters.
  • Assist the HR team with project administration.

Knowledge & Experience:
• At least one year’s experience as an Administrator.
• Good standard of written and spoken English.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deal tactfully with colleagues.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good organisational, prioritising and problem-solving skills, with the resilience to work effectively under pressure.
• Commitment to always maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications, and good knowledge of Excel.
• Knowledge of HRIS systems (desirable)
