About the role

Beat is recruiting a Helpline Advisor to support the team in responding to the significant demand from those affected by eating disorders. Beat are receiving more contacts than ever before, this is an opportunity to make a difference to the lives of each and every person that gets in touch, this includes sufferers, family, friends, supporters and more. Working as part of the Helpline team, the Helpline Advisor’s role is to ensure that incoming contacts from our beneficiaries receive high quality, timely support when they need it.

We particularly encourage applications from Welsh speakers for this role; we have received funding from the Welsh government and are looking to improve our service delivery for our Welsh-speaking beneficiaries.

Home-Start Portsmouth (HSP) supports parents from pregnancy onwards, recognising the vital role they play in their children's lives. Our expert staff and trained volunteers provide child-focused family support to help Portsmouth families thrive. 

Antenatal Results and Choices (ARC) are a UK-wide charity offering impartial information and specialist support to parents undergoing antenatal testing. ARC also partners with healthcare professionals to promote high-quality, equitable care. 

We are recruiting an ARC Project Coordinator, who will lead a project aimed at improving pregnancy aspirations and readiness in communities, particularly those less likely to engage with maternity services. The project will focus on healthy conversations, accessible and accurate information, and equitable access to interventions, helping reduce inequalities and support informed pregnancy choices. 

The coordinator will also be responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising a small team of volunteers who will help deliver some parts of the project. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities  

1. Project Delivery: 

• Lead, manage, and ensure the high-quality delivery of the ARC Project 

• Facilitate informed decision-making in pregnancy by working in partnership with ARC, our funder 

• Engage with parents less likely to access antenatal screening, offering information and support to help them understand and access available options 

• Provide education and signposting to both parents and health professionals about available support 

• Deliver person-centred relational support using evidence-based interventions and approaches 

• Normalise conversations about antenatal screening through a variety of services, including; clinics, participation in HSP’s prenatal offer, community groups, and partnerships with health services and the wider workforce 

1. Stakeholder Engagement: 

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key individuals within HIOW Healthcare NHS Trust and Portsmouth City Council 

• To work as part of an integrated approach across the Family Hub Programme delivery, including maternity services 

• Work in partnership with Family Hub Champions, Family Nurse Partnership, Families in Mind, Midwifery services and other voluntary sector partners as part of the wider Family Hub Programme workforce 

• Facilitate collaboration and networking between multiple agencies to ensure a coordinated, integrated approach 

1. Project Administration: 

• Maintain data collection and case recording systems 

• Keep up-to-date records about volunteers and their roles

• Manage project resources, including the reimbursement of volunteer expenses 

1. Monitoring and Evaluation: 

• Report to the Head of Operations on project goals 

• Gather and analyse service user feedback 

• Monitor and evaluate the project and suggest improvements where needed 

• Work collaboratively with ARC to deliver support and information in line with agreed objectives 

• Provide regular project reports to the funder 

1. Volunteer Management: 

• Work alongside colleagues to recruit and train volunteers 

• Manage any volunteers, supervising at agreed intervals and identifying any training needs 

• Escalate concerns to the Head of Operations 

• Ensure all safeguarding responsibilities are met 

1. Additional Duties: 

• Support the CEO and Head of Operations in contract renewal as required 

• Support the Head of Funding and Communications in delivering the social media schedule, newsletters, case studies and fundraising events. 

7. Post Holder Authority: 

• Make day-to-day decisions regarding families, children, and volunteers without reference to the Head of Operations, except where sign off is required 

• Escalate safeguarding concerns to the Head of Operations 

• To spend budgets for events on behalf of Home-Start Portsmouth, agreed with Head of Operations 

• In absence of Head of Operations or CEO, to make decisions regarding families, children, and volunteers alongside the HSP Management and Coordinating teams

Main purpose of post
 To provide effective administrative support across the organisation, which will
include minute taking and completion of expenses.
 Perform administrative tasks related to HR processes, to ensure the efficient
delivery of HR services and the accurate maintenance of employee records.

sensitive information with confidentiality.
 Work on administrative projects and time-limited pieces of work to help

What you do
Administration
You will support the whole organisation with a range of administrative tasks
which will include:
 Completing minutes for key meetings.
 Processing of Expenses on behalf of the Senior Leadership Team.
 Arranging room bookings both internally and externally.
 Support with co-ordinating organisation wide meetings i.e., monthly staff
meetings, away days, including booking venues and arranging catering.
 Supporting with governance committee cycles, preparing documents and
reports as required.
 Inputting data into relevant systems accurately and in a timely manner.
 Dealing with enquiries from patients, donors, supporters, service providers
and volunteers as required in a timely and effective manner.
 Provide general administrative support to the wider team as required.
 Taking donations in any of the Weston Park Cancer Charity locations.
 Support with the administration of our grants programme, including
preparing and issues letter to grant applicants as instructed, updating and
maintaining grant budget spreadsheets.
You will work on time limited ad hoc projects, which could include:
 Creating and implementing new processes, including building templates /
documentation / matrixes.
 The build-up to / during and/ or after a campaign / or event.
HR Support
You will provide support to the HR Manager which will include:
 Maintaining and update employee records.
 Assist in the recruitment processes (posting job ads, scheduling interviews,
communicating with candidates).

 Support with preparing HR documents, such as onboarding paperwork, and
employee letters.
 Coordinate new hire onboarding and offboarding processes.
 Organize training sessions and maintain training records.
 Assist with HR projects such as employee engagement programs.
Cover Support
You may be asked to provide cover on the front of desks of one of our sites:
Cancer Support Centre, Northumberland Road, our Charity Hub, Whitham Road
or Cavendish Centre, Wilkinson Street which will include:
 Meeting and greeting visitors including supporters and patients and acting as
their first point of contact for any queries.
 Dealing with telephone, email and postal enquiries across the organisation
 During cover period, you may be required to open and close the patient
spaces, as part of a wider team rota.
 Booking in and logging patients onto the relevant records and databases to
provide accurate data.
 Sending appointment reminder calls/texts/letters to clients as required.
 Co-ordinating the Transport service, including supporting and co-ordinating
the volunteer drivers.
 Managing the consumables within this patient space and ordering
replacement stock as and when required.

· This position is home-based but with extensive travel across England and Wales.

· A full driving license and access to a car is essential for the role.

The Role

About the role

We are looking for an IT and Data Officer to join our central team, working in collaboration with our services which are our Independent Approved Premises (IAP). You will maintain and support our data systems and IT infrastructure across our services, responsible for managing CRM systems and supporting with first line IT queries which could include ticketing requests, troubleshooting, technical issues, and liaising with internal and external partners to ensure consistent and timely data reporting.

You will work across multiple projects to ensure performance metrics are accurately tracked and communicated, proactively identifying and addressing any data or system related issues. You will support with continuous improvement for the service and wider organisation.

What is the role?

Working Arrangements

• This part time role 21 hour per week.  Ideally working Wed and Friday and one other day to be negotiated.

LGBT Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) Birmingham & West Midlands.

 ·Provide independent advocacy and support to LGBT survivors of domestic violence.

·Work with survivors from the point of crisis and offer intensive support to help ensure short-term and long-term safety.

·Maintain multi-agency links and partnerships through protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors of domestic violence.

·Empower service users by providing them with emotional and practical support, thus enabling them to access their rights, empowering them to make decisions and increasing their life options.

·Inform survivors of full range of civil, criminal and practical options that might increase their safety.

Casework Management

·To advise and support LGBT survivors of domestic violence.

·To undertake advocacy casework, working with survivors following an initial assessment of their needs, working within a structured key-working relationship.

·To provide one-to-one-emotional, practical, legal and advocacy support to survivors through the development of an individual support plan, including risk assessments, safety planning and assistance in accessing other relevant services such as the police, counselling, housing, and legal services.

·To support LGBT survivors of domestic violence who are going through the criminal justice system.

·To develop and maintain good working relationships and links with other agencies, referring service users to appropriate specialist agencies where necessary as part of a support plan and in consultation with them.

·To ensure that any issues in relation to child or adult protection concerns are responded to in line with Birmingham LGBT’s policies and are brought to the immediate attention of the line manager.

·To deliver training on LGBT domestic violence.

·To work within Birmingham LGBT’s policies and procedures.

Monitoring, Evaluation and Information Management

·To participate in the collection and maintenance of information on relevant referral agencies and local services.

·To ensure high quality and effective statistical monitoring is undertaken at all times in accordance with Birmingham LGBT’s procedures.

·To produce monitoring reports as requested by the Office of the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner.

·To maintain accurate, confidential service-user records of contact details and interventions, ensuring that personal information is up-to-date and that it is kept secure and confidential at all times in compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and Birmingham LGBT’s procedures.

·To ensure that feedback from service users and agencies is actively sought to inform the continuous improvement and development of the service.

Professional Development and Training

·To keep up-to-date with developments in legislation, policy and local and national government initiatives that address domestic violence.

·To attend and prepare for regular meetings with the line manager and to participate in individual appraisals in accordance with Birmingham LGBT’s policies and procedures.

·To attend internal or external training events, meetings or forums, as requested by the line manager and in line with the post-holder’s professional development plan.

·To attend regular team meetings.

·To carry out other duties as may from time to time be reasonably required by the line manager.

·To support colleagues with general duties at the Birmingham LGBT Centre.

Whether assisting students and residents on a daily basis, supporting weekend residentials, conferences and events, or working with the team which delivers our annual Foundation Celebration, this role is at the heart of providing a welcoming campus environment.

The Campus Accommodation and Hospitality Manager will lead a team of reception and housekeeping staff to deliver and administer a full range of campus services. As well as providing an efficient and welcoming reception service, this includes the management of meeting rooms, accommodation booking, achieving and maintaining high standards of housekeeping, and overseeing contracted catering and refreshment services. The postholder will be part of a committed staff team, giving and receiving support to deliver the operational needs of the Foundation in a way which reflects our ethos of hospitality, care and community. 

This is a full-time role, with some evening and weekend work during weekend residentials and other events. The postholder will also participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota.

Key responsibilities

1. To manage the delivery of accommodation and hospitality operations.

• Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors from diverse backgrounds and denominations.
• Oversee the day-to-day running of hospitality services including accommodation, catering and menus, and support for conferences and events.
• Represent the staff team on hospitality matters at the Foundation’s residents’ and community forum meetings
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service across all facilities
• Liaise with Facilities Manager regarding maintenance needs arising in meeting rooms and accommodation 

2. To manage a team of hospitality staff.

• Draw up duty rotas for the Hospitality team based on varying operational need.
• Provide ongoing support, training, and development for team members.
• Carry out line management responsibilities in line with the Foundation’s HR policies and procedures

3. To manage the delivery of events and conferences.

• Generate quotes for events and conferences in consultation with internal and external organisers
• Support marketing for events, conferences, and other campus activities
• Oversee the Hospitality team to ensure effective administration for the smooth delivery of hospitality for teaching, residentials, events and conferences.
• Oversee room bookings, check-ins/outs, ensuring smooth turnaround of all accommodations between occupancy.

4. Procurement

• Manage procurement for hospitality goods and services in consultation with the Management Accountant and the Director of Operations.
• Monitor costs and implement efficiencies while maintaining quality.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Head of Programme Management to lead the delivery of two flagship initiatives, Inside Job and Choirs Beating Time. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality, consistent delivery across prisons and the community.
