Job Title: Housing Support Worker

Location: Warwickshire, Dispersed Accommodation (mainly based in South Warwickshire)
Salary: £25,857.12 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week. As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Housing Support Worker to provide high quality practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic abuse and their children living in our dispersed refuge accommodation in Warwickshire.

You will be joining the Warwickshire Dispersed Safe Accommodation service. This service will provide emergency safe accommodation across Warwickshire with high-quality domestic abuse support, ‘by-and-for’ services for survivors of domestic abuse and their children. Housing Support Workers will work closely with the Floating Support Workers and Child Support Workers (who provide the personal support to survivors of domestic abuse and their children) to ensure that the emergency accommodation and support meets the whole range of survivors’ needs.

The post holder will be responsible for the Health and Safety and maintenance of emergency safe accommodation units in multiple 1–3-bedroom properties across Warwickshire. This will include the practical set up and maintenance of home furnishings and utilities in each property and the management of the cleaning and replacements required between each use of the accommodation unit.

The post holder will provide support to survivors fleeing domestic abuse around accessing housing benefit for the dispersed accommodation and support survivors with exploring and accessing move on accommodation.

The Housing Support Worker (HSW) will be responsible for ensuring that the properties will maintain Refuge’s accommodation standards and comply with all Health and Safety legislation and requirements. 

As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.

Ideal candidate profile:

• Previous experience in an administrative role within a busy team, ideally within HR
• Strong IT skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with HR databases
• Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and ability to prioritise effectively
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
• Proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion
• Proactive and self-motivated, with a positive approach to work
• Experience of working in the charity or clinical sector is desirable
• Knowledge of Canva or similar design tools would be an advantage

About the Role

You will be responsible for offering infant feeding support for parents within Hackney borough community, within Family hub settings as well as in Homerton Hospital. Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

· Providing breastfeeding support to families within family hubs settings within Hackney and on the wards at Homerton            hospital.

· Support in delivering inductions for volunteer peer supporters. 

· To report any concerns or additional support needs of women to the NCT management team and/or Infant Feeding                 Lead for referral onto partner agencies as appropriate.  

· To attend regular supervision/support sessions. 

· Having a good working knowledge and understanding of the local demographics in the Hackney area and ensuring all          support is accessible and inclusive.

· Ensure that data collection and feedback is collected in a timely manner in an inclusive way.

You must have good communication skills and be able to build relationships and create a rapport with a wide range of people easily. This is a large project and covers multiple locations so you must be able to confidently prioritise your own work, be highly organised and able to work independently.

Being able to make decisions and respond appropriately to our staff, peer supporters and parents and other external stakeholders is essential, alongside good IT skills– including Outlook, Word and Excel – and you must have good attention to detail.
 
It is essential for this post that you undertake the training to become an NCT Breastfeeding Peer Supporter. This requires experience of giving breast milk. The training can be undertaken within your working hours.

The role is 21 hours per week which will be predominantly Monday to Friday within the working day, however, will include occasional evening and weekends. This role is mainly based at family hubs setting across Hackney borough as well as in Homerton Hospital.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Stores Officer to join the Procurement team. Your role is to maintain the required stock levels of essential medical and housekeeping equipment to ensure there are no stock outs.

Provision of services include processing deliveries, monitoring stock levels, assisting users with order processing in our order management system, carrying out stock takes as required.

Role Requirements

• Responsible for working with Procurement & Purchasing Officer to develop a new process for goods in, collaborating with Helpdesk, Logistics and Security to adapt and improve the goods inwards process to further support all departments.
• Responsible for maintaining stock levels in stores, ensuring accurate record keeping is developed and maintained.
• Building a new process with the support of the Procurement Lead in respect of the Shops stock management system for cleaning and stationery materials to make efficiencies
• Ensure stocks are stored and handled appropriately and correctly rotated.
• Maintain accurate records on-line of stock levels and receipting stock orders as required
• Keeping stock records and pricing updated.
• Making deliveries across site as required if Logistics are unavailable

Online Searches

In accordance with statutory safeguarding and child protection guidance, online searches will be conducted for shortlisted candidates before interview. Sales Strategy & Performance Tracking

Weddings & Corporate Events

We’re looking for a creative and hands-on communications all-rounder to support Climate Spring across digital, brand, marketing, events and general communications.

The Communications and Marketing Coordinator will work closely with the Head of Communications and Events as well as the Development and Events Coordinator, helping to deliver and evolve the organisation’s communications strategy. The post holder will also support communications and content creation for Climate Spring's Climate Fiction Prize, a new literary prize celebrating novels tackling the climate crisis.

This is a broad and varied role ideal for someone with a strong visual eye, excellent copywriting skills and experience across digital, social media, website and brand management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

‍Digital and Content:

• Maintain and update the Climate Spring website (Webflow).
• Draft, edit and publish content across a variety of channels, including website, social media, newsletters and events copy.
• Support the management of Climate Spring's social media channels and calendars; create and post content.
• Lead on compiling and gathering content for Climate Spring’s monthly community newsletter.
• Support social media output for the Climate Fiction Prize as needed.

‍Brand and Marketing:

• Act as brand guardian alongside the Head of Communications and Events, ensuring consistency across all communications outputs and materials.
• Support the design and production of assets for Climate Spring and the Climate Fiction Prize using Canva (social posts, invites, presentations, event materials).

Events Communications:

• Support the promotion and communications around Climate Spring events (in-person, online and partner-led)
• Working with the Development and Events Coordinator to manage and send out event invites, manage RSVPs and event follow-ups.
• Support the promotion and marketing for Climate Spring’s workshops and training offerings.
• Help identify and coordinate new event opportunities.
• Attend Climate Spring events (in-person and online), take photos and cover on socials as required.

Reporting and  Admin:

• Track and report on communications activities, including press coverage, social, newsletter and website analytics to optimise impact and reach.
• Assist with general communications, events and marketing planning.
• Manage and maintain mailing lists (newsletter list, press lists).
• Maintain and share the communications and events calendar.

MINIMUM ROLE CRITERIA AND SKILLS:

• Proven experience in a busy comms, digital, marketing or public affairs role (agency or in-house).
• Excellent copywriting skills across web, social and editorial.
• Strong visual eye for branding and attention to detail.
• Experience of creating engaging social media content tailored to different platforms.
• Experience with CMS management (Webflow preferred).
