Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities experience some of the starkest inequalities of any groups in the UK. In this role, you will be working as part of the Policy and Public Affairs Team, to tackle the root causes of inequalities faced by Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities.

As Policy and Research Officer, you will play a key role in strengthening our policy, research and public affairs work across our priority areas: accommodation, tackling hate, financial and economic inclusion, health, and education.

The postholder will support work to influence decision-makers, amplify the voices of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities, and advocate for fairer laws and policies.

The role involves undertaking research, producing evidence-based briefings, supporting parliamentary engagement, and working with partners to promote equality and human rights.

Due to the nature of the role, the successful applicant will need to be based in our Brighton office, and we may be able to accommodate a degree of flexible working subject to successful completion of a three-month probation period.

Key Responsibilities

Policy and Research

• Undertake research, analyse data, and produce high-quality briefings and reports.
• Monitor and respond to government consultations and emerging policy issues.
• Contribute to reports and other external submissions, such as human rights treaty monitoring and select committees.

Parliamentary and Public Affairs

• Support the organisation’s role as Secretariat to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Gypsies, Travellers and Roma, including liaising with parliamentarians, drafting parliamentary questions and correspondence, and organising events.
• Work with colleagues and partners to influence decision-makers and ensure the experiences of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities are heard.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders across sectors.

Other Key Responsibilities

• Deliver on designated work streams, ensuring objectives and deadlines are met.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of project plans and track progress against agreed outcomes.
• Gather and present data for monitoring and evaluation reports to funders.
• Provide the necessary administrative support for the policy and public affairs work.

• Ensure all work complies with organisational policies on confidentiality, safeguarding, and equality.
• Undertake other duties as reasonably required.

The key aspects of this important new role are supporting membership, championing communications and impact, and overseeing youth engagement, which you will lead on at an organisational level, working closely with senior colleagues.

As a membership organisation, the role of Head of Membership & Impact is crucial to the core mission of our charity, and forms part of our core team, working closely with both our CEO and Head of Partnerships & Grants, with support from your line reports.

Membership: You will oversee our membership process of our 170 members, from new joiners to member training and networking provision. The responsibilities of membership are varied, but include

• Ensuring a rigorous membership onboarding, survey and renewal process
• Designing and facilitating a comprehensive membership and events offer that meets members’ needs and fulfills our commitments from funders;
• Maintaining strong direct relationships with members, and overseeing the work with supplementary schools  

Impact & Communications: You will lead YCF’s impactful communications and reporting. Responsibility areas will include:

• Overseeing YCF’s collection and effective use of our CRM and data, including about members
• Developing and writing effective and impactful reporting and storytelling of YCF’s work
• Embedding effective communications across YCF’s team
• Overseeing YCF’s online presence, including social media and our website

Youth engagement: Finally, you will oversee YCF’s youth engagement, via the following areas:

• Overseeing the delivery of our Young Ambassadors programme, in coordination with a leading youth social action provider, in line with best practice
• Facilitate and develop impactful opportunities for young Camdeners to have a say in decisions that impact them

You will also be a key leader at YCF and a core member of the SMT, managing two part-time staff members. You will champion the areas of membership, impact and communications and youth engagement across YCF and with external stakeholders. You will be called upon to represent the organisation in key spaces, including with Camden Council, key funders, and elsewhere.

This is a fantastic chance to join the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust, working within the Active Journeys team as our new Project Officer. 

As the Project Officer you will be required to play a dynamic role in delivering a variety of walking, wheeling, and cycling projects that make a real difference to people's lives. 

In this varied role, you will be responsible for planning and delivering practical activities for young people in schools, supporting the implementation of School Streets to create safer and healthier environments, and working closely with the National Cycle Network and Infrastructure teams on community engagement for related schemes. You will engage with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, building strong relationships to ensure the successful delivery of projects, and will also be responsible for integrating Sustrans volunteers into your work to help maximise impact and community involvement.

Our client provides free, specialist emotional and practical support to people affected by fatal and life-changing road collisions across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire. Each year, their small but dedicated team and cohort of over 70 trained volunteer Counsellors provide life-changing support to hundreds of individuals and families coping with grief, trauma, and loss.

Following a period of significant operational change, they are seeking a dynamic, highly organised Operations Manager to strengthen their internal systems, ensure compliance, and provide essential resilience to the organisation.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the organisation's day-to-day operations. Key Responsibilities

Finance Officer

• To raise sales invoices and, capture and recognise all non-invoiced income in the relevant period.
• Carry out account reconciliations relating to Credit Control in the balance sheet and income accounts including analysis of aged debtors.

• To be responsible for the accuracy of postings to the nominal ledger within given deadlines.
• To ensure payments of invoices and all other fees/income are received within the stated period.

• Assisting with the preparation of quarterly and year-to-date returns and monitoring forms to funders, and the annual external audit.

Skills and Qualifications

• A qualification in accounting/finance or significant experience working in a finance/accounting role.
• Experience using computerised accounting systems. Knowledge of Sun will be an advantage.
• A good understanding of accounting concepts including their application.
• Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to think creatively and decisively to solve problems.
• Demonstrable ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively, both internally within and across teams, and with external partners.
• A high level of proficiency using Microsoft Office, in particular use of Excel to manipulate data.

Operations Director
Oasis Community Partnerships (Youth and Community)

Permanent, full-time post, 40 hours per week, inclusive of breaks

 At an exciting and key stage in our journey we have the opportunity for an Operations Director to join the Oasis Youth and Community national leadership team supporting local Oasis community charities across the country.

With accountability to the CEO the Operations Director will be responsible for three key areas of work:

1. Lead key elements of policy and systems ensuring the Youth and Community function remains safe and compliant, and that local leaders and other key staff are effectively supported (including line management of People Services).
2. Oversee the effective governance oversight for all local charities through a cycle of professional guidance and monitoring.
3. Lead the national framework for monitoring and evaluation across activities.

About the role

We are looking for an IT and Data Officer to join our central team, working in collaboration with our services which are our Independent Approved Premises (IAP). You will maintain and support our data systems and IT infrastructure across our services, responsible for managing CRM systems and supporting with first line IT queries which could include ticketing requests, troubleshooting, technical issues, and liaising with internal and external partners to ensure consistent and timely data reporting.

You will work across multiple projects to ensure performance metrics are accurately tracked and communicated, proactively identifying and addressing any data or system related issues. You will support with continuous improvement for the service and wider organisation.

About you

We're looking for someone who is passionate about IT and data, able to utilise this within a practical working environment. You will be confident in using various tools and software with transferrable skills. We're looking for someone who understands SIG and what we do as an organisation, with a judgement free mindset, and comfortable working within any of our services, able to build good professional relationships with our staff internally, our residents, and external partners. We look for:

• Skills in data input, extraction, and reporting
• Skills in online platforms and systems, ideally Power BI, Trello, Inform, and Microsoft Office
• Familiarity in externally used systems by Ministry of Justice is highly desirable
• Ability to translate and present technical knowledge and information to non-technical teams
• Ability to deliver training to staff at all levels in reference to use of systems and develop training videos/materials

Earthwatch currently has an exciting opportunity for a Fundraising Officer to join our Income Generation team. You will provide operational support to the team, help maximise revenue and deliver impactful environmental programmes. You will research funding opportunities, write applications and support individual giving campaigns.

You will provide essential operational support to the Income Generation team, contributing to analytic, administrative, research, reporting, and stewardship tasks. You will assist with specific partnership development including working with funders and landowners. This role is key to helping Earthwatch maximise revenue and deliver impactful environmental programmes.

You will research funding opportunities, write applications, support individual giving campaigns, and maintain CRM records. Responsibilities 

Research & Proposal Writing 

• Conduct research into potential trusts and foundations and corporate partners, including horizon scanning reports. 

• Update databases with funding opportunities relevant to Earthwatch’s projects. 

• Assist in writing and proofreading funding proposals and applications, alongside the Trusts and Foundations Manager and the Business Development Manager.

• Independently write smaller bids and funding requests. 

Individual Giving & Partnerships 

• Support the Individual Giving Manager with campaigns including direct debits, one-off donations, marathon fundraising, and legacies. 

• Assist the Partnership Development Manager with research and building strategic relationships with local authorities and project sites. 

CRM & Administration 

• Maintain and update contact records in our CRM system (Microsoft Dynamics 365). 

• Respond to emails in the Fundraising and Development inboxes. 

• Monitor and report on team progress against objectives and KPIs. 

• Provide general administrative support to the Income Generation team. 

Collaboration & Communication 

• Build strong relationships internally to understand Earthwatch’s work and articulate it in compelling cases for support. 

• Work with colleagues to ensure funder requirements are met. 

• Identify and promote stories and case studies that demonstrate impact.

Overview

FearFree delivers services across the Southwest for victims, children and perpetrators of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking, with the aim to break the cycle of abuse and support all to live free from fear. We provide trauma responsive support, and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders and partners experience this in our daily delivery.

The aim of the Interpersonal Trauma Service is to improve the health, wellbeing and safety of people who have been exposed to trauma arising from sexual violence and abuse and/or domestic abuse.

You will work across a specified number of GP practices, to offer support to health professionals working in practices, people who have experience of interpersonal trauma arising from sexual violence and abuse and/or domestic abuse, as well as a service for people at risk of perpetrating abuse.

You and the team will provide training to GP surgeries to improve identification, enquiry, and response for patients. You and your team will also support adults and children who have been impacted by interpersonal trauma with emotional and practical support, focusing on trauma stabilisation. The team will be responsible for facilitating timely access to further appropriate support services where needed.

FearFree is committed to flexible and hybrid working and this role will be a mix of home based and office based, alongside requiring travel to GP practices and for multi-agency meetings and other deliverables.

This role may include evening and weekend work when required.

Key Responsibilities

• To provide specialist, individual and needs-led domestic abuse and sexual violence advocacy and support to patients who are or have experienced, who are referred from participating practices or self-refer, and to provide onward referrals where appropriate. 
• Provide direct assessment, casework support, advice, information, and advocacy through telephone contact, and/or meetings at the relevant practice. 
• Provide support to increase people’s personal safety, and that of any children, and inform them of their rights and options in terms of housing, legal and welfare rights.
• To provide signposting and onward referrals to patients.
• To provide ongoing specialist advice and support around Domestic Abuse (DA) and Sexual Violence (SV) to practice teams. 
• To encourage general practice health professionals to ask patients about their experience of abuse and respond, record, safety check and refer. 
• To provide feedback on case outcomes to referring clinicians. 
• To collect and collate performance and monitoring data for reporting purposes. 
• Provide in-house training and refresher training for general practice teams on understanding, recognising, and responding to DA and SV. 
• Develop good working relationships and liaise with outside agencies where needed.
• Keep accurate records of all referrals received and of work done with or on behalf of service users. 
• Deliver DA and SV training to clinicians and non-clinical staff in participating general practices.
• Develop a good relationship with all general practice staff and work effectively as part of the practice team. 
• Contribute to monitoring and evaluation of the programme collecting required data and producing written reports as requested.
