THE ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished cyber security engineer to join our Digital Enablement team. As we continue into the next phase of our Trust-wide transformation, cyber security will underpin all aspects of our digital acitivity. Reporting into our infrastructure architect, you will be responsible for the ongoing engineering of security solutions as our needs develop. We operate in a Microsoft environment. This will involve managing internal stakeholders and third party suppliers to deliver solutions alongside the rest of the Digital team. 

This is a Hybrid working role, where you’ll work part of your time at home and part of the time from our Head Office based in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Our Hybrid Working Policy is flexible, and the frequency of time spent in your contracted office will vary across teams and job roles.

About Cycling UK

Cycling UK works to campaign for cycling-friendly policies, advocating for cyclists’ voices on issues such as safety, active travel schemes and funding, the benefits of cycling on the environment, and much more. During the last 5 years Cycling UK has experienced significant growth and development as cycling has assumed a greater role within the active travel sector and the post-pandemic recovery. As part of the next phase of implementing a new organisational strategy with a view to further growth, Cycling UK are looking for a finance leader to support in day to day running of our finances as well as driving longer-term transformation and strategic ambitions.

The Role

Reporting into the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of Strategic Financial Planning & Control is a pivotal position within the Cycling UK team. Working as part of the leadership team within Cycling UK, this is an important role in leading the finance team and working to enhance the organisation’s longer-term strategic vision.

• Line management of the finance team members (4 reports) including supporting the development of all direct reports;
• Leading the preparation and implementation of a multi-year plan and annual budget aligned with our business  planning and programme management processes;
• Lead budget and forecast reviews at appropriate intervals in the financial year to ensure accurate and timely forecasts of income and expenditure;
• Collaborating with the Chief Operating Officer, Senior leadership team and Heads of department to develop and embed a robust finance strategy which supports the delivery of our organisational strategy and aligns with our growth aspirations;
• Develop and maintain an effective system of financial controls that ensure the safeguarding of charity assets and the reliability of the financial statements;
• Lead the preparation and production of the annual report and accounts;
• Oversight for all accounts payable and accounts receivable processes and ledgers;

Your Background:

You will be CCAB qualified or equivalent

Prior experience in the not-for-profit sector is desirable though not essential.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The primary focus of this external-facing role is to ensure that Bond’s member organisations are deeply engaged across a wide-range of Bond services and activities.

Using an account management approach, you will thrive on seeking out, building and nurturing relationships with key job roles at every level within our member organisations, offering them regular support and advice on how to get the most out of their membership of Bond. 

As the first point of contact for Bond members, you will deliver outstanding customer service with a warm, helpful, and confident demeanour, lead meetings with members to understand their needs and identify engagement opportunities, and introduce members to Bond colleagues when appropriate. A firm grasp of the Member Value Proposition is essential, as is the ability to confidently and enthusiastically speak to all aspects of it when interacting with members.

Working alongside the membership and marketing manager, you will help to develop and implement strategies to retain existing members, using data (in Salesforce, our CRM) to inform and tailor our approach including identifying members with low activity or gaps in engagement. You will gather feedback and intel from members through surveys and other mechanisms so that we better understand how and why they value Bond and to identify potential new initiatives and services they may find useful. One of your responsibilities is member renewals (which is integrated with Salesforce), in which you will work with the Salesforce Adviser to ensure that the process is optimised and efficient. You will also regularly compose member emails and newsletters and contribute to Bond reporting and Board papers.

While the role sits in the Communications and Member Services team, it is integral across the organisation. You will regularly meet and collaborate with colleagues across our policy and advocacy, sector transformation and senior leadership teams to possess a thorough understanding their work and the value-add it provides to members. Likewise, your deep comprehension of what members need from Bond will input into Bond’s strategy and membership offer. 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Member engagement and account management

• Create and implement effective strategies to engage members and keep them involved and interested in Bond’s activities and initiatives.
• Build and nurture relationships with key member audiences to better understand their needs and requirements of Bond and clearly articulate the member value proposition.
• Regularly meet members (predominantly online, but also in person) to discuss their membership and engagement opportunities.
• Ensure the contact data we hold on key member contacts is accurate.
• Coordinate the member renewals process including the communications schedule, automated reminders, reviewing fees and raising invoices.
• Work alongside the membership and marketing manager, Director of CMT and colleagues to develop and implement the member retention strategy, audience profiling work and Member Value Proposition.
• Provide regular communications and updates to member contacts using the Campaign Monitor email marketing tool.
• Contribute ideas to the improvement and development of the membership structures and systems.
• Be the first point of contact for membership queries.

Data analysis and insights

• Monitor, analyse and report on membership activity held in our CRM (Salesforce).
• Use data to understand trends and inform member engagement and service delivery.
• Work with colleagues to ensure that engagement information is logged in our CRM in an accurate and timely manner.
• Support the creation and analysis of member insight surveys.
• Work with team members to ensure that data is held in accordance with Bond’s data protection policy.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential

• Demonstrable experience in a membership focused role within a membership organisation or network.
• An innate tendency and proven track record in establishing and nurturing relationships with contacts at all levels within an organisation.
• Ability to think creatively in devising strategies to engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience of organising and leading meetings with stakeholders.
• Experience of using data to gain customer/stakeholder insight and inform strategic decision-making.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, showing a high level of competence when interacting and communicating with different audiences.
• High IT and internet proficiency, including CRM systems and databases, MS Office, Word, Excel PowerPoint etc
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines across the team.
• Solutions-focused and problem solving “can do” attitude.
• An understanding of and commitment to the values and objectives of Bond.

Desirable

• Experience of processing membership renewals.
• Experience of using integrated CRM and e-marketing systems (ie, Campaign Monitor for Salesforce).

Langdon hospital in Dawlish is the base for Devon Partnership Trust’s Inpatient Secure Mental Health Services. Advocacy has an office on site and advocates travel between the office and two on site inpatient units:

Dewans Centre (4 medium secure wards)

Chichester House (low secure ward)

The hospital supports men from South-West England who, because of their mental health needs, have had contact with the legal system and require a safe and secure environment where they can receive treatments, therapies, and care to help them recover. Sometimes people are accepted without criminal charges pending, where there is evidence of significant risk to others in the context of mental disorder.

How you will make a difference

The role focusses on a single remit of advocacy service delivery, IMHA.  At times, it may be necessary for you to carry out cases for the people you are supporting from additional remits, for example to complete a qualification portfolio or because it best suits the needs of the person to have the same advocate. However, most of your caseload will be working within your single remit, at times working collaboratively with other advocates. You will manage your own caseload, using a person-led, issue-based advocacy approach, closing cases efficiently when the work has concluded and identifying when the person you are supporting has additional advocacy needs, ensuring an appropriate referral is raised, signposting is considered, and any unmet needs are recorded.

*Appointments will be at the minimum of the band.

As Strategic Lead (Cancer & Inequalities) you’ll continue our work with GM Cancer to achieve a permanent reduction in inequalities and inequity within Greater Manchester, addressing the social, environmental, and economic determinants of health and wellbeing, with the aim of ensuring active VCSE participation.

SPANA - The Society for the Protection of Animals Abroad is the global charity for working animals in low-income countries. Since 1923, we have supported the welfare of working animals, including donkeys, horses, camels and elephants, in communities that depend on working animals for water, transport, agriculture and their very survival. The Head of Global Operations is a key member of the Global Resources Team, responsible for professional business support at both a strategic and an operational level across the organisation. Key responsibilities include providing essential operational infrastructure to the global support and country teams, encompassing office facilities, travel security, and IT and HR services.

While we classify this role as hybrid, it's worth noting that the vast majority of your work can be done from the comfort of your own home. Key responsibilities

• To provide the global support team and country teams with the necessary operational infrastructure/elements (including office facilities, travel security, risks), IT and HR services that respond to the changing ways of working for the organisation.

About you

• Proven experience in Head of Operations role or similar.
• Experience of working for an INGO or similar global nonprofit entity.

• Experience of providing strategic leadership across the broad range of operational activities.
• Business analysis skills, identifying needs and determining solutions.
• Ability to foster innovation and continuous improvement of systems, processes and infrastructure.
• Knowledge of best practice in critical operational areas – including security management, data protection, cybersecurity and contract management.

Hours: Part-time (21-28 hours per week). Additional hours may sometime be required, particularly for Trustee meetings, and can be taken as Time Off In Lieu.

The Executive Assistant (EA) to the SLT will facilitate all the charity’s governance requirements. Activities will primarily focus on Trustee meetings, Committees and Management team meetings, but will include policy administration and all other aspects of corporate governance and company secretariat. The post will also form part of newly-formed HR function within the charity.

The EA to the SLT will be a key role in giving the charity the capacity and expertise it needs to grow in a well-governed and responsible yet ambitious way.

Role Purpose

You know that the work you did as a Programme Coordinator – supporting a Programme Manager to design and deliver programmes of support, managing the day-to-day administration of programmes, and acting as the main point of contact for entrepreneur questions and requests – has empowered hundreds of underrepresented founders to imagine, launch and grow sustainable and impactful businesses.

Communicating with founders

• Acting as the main point of contact for entrepreneurs on a cohort, ensuring they all have the information they need to get the most out of programmes
• Communicating with founders individually and as a cohort including via phone, email, zoom
• Leading on administrative matters, including calendar invitations, permissions, photographs, and communications 

Programme delivery and support

• Ensuring that workshops, events, and sessions run smoothly and deliver a great experience for everyone involved 
• Providing technological support with tools including Zoom breakout rooms, Circle etc.
• Producing materials to support founders’ learning, including PDFs, slides, and spreadsheets
• Supporting the programme manager with the recruitment of founders which sometimes includes; Interviewing, shortlisting, and selection during recruitment cycles. 

Working with external freelancers and volunteers

• Briefing and training skilled volunteers, experts and facilitators to ensure high-quality delivery of support sessions
• Coordinating 1:1 support for founders with skilled volunteers/experts on the programmes
• Ensuring the right contracts with founders, facilitators and expert speakers are in place
• Helping maintain our database of expert speakers, freelancers and volunteers
• Identifying and onboarding new freelancers and volunteers by networking, researching, and attending external events
• Keeping track of and processing invoices from freelancers

Monitoring and evaluation

• Gathering feedback from entrepreneurs and sharing insights and areas of improvement
• Interviewing founders and creating case studies from their written and verbal feedback
• Collaborating with the Marketing and Communications team to share stories from our founders on our social channels

Systems and Administration

• Maintaining KPI tracking system to record event attendees, feedback and learning outcomes through our work management system Monday
• Suggesting and creating improvements to systems as needed

Other 

• Representing Hatch externally at speaking opportunities (optional)
• Other duties that may be required from time to time as part of a small, dynamic team

Salary: £52,915.20 per annum

Location: Hybrid - Remote working with requirement to regularly work from HQ in Exeter or any other Devon Air Ambulance premises.

The Role

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced marketing and communications leader to join the Devon Air Ambulance team and help us tell our story.

Supported by a team of six, and working across the charity, the role will design and deliver marketing and communications strategies to support our mission, vision and strategic aims.

From developing our digital marketing across social media and a new website, to implementing a new visual identity, to underpinning our fundraising activities with creative and compelling communications, the breadth of this role provides a unique opportunity for someone to make a significant contribution to our ongoing success.

The Candidate

We’re looking for an outstanding marketing and communications leader who is strategically minded and delivery focused. They will be able to lead and develop an existing team and be adept at building and maintaining productive working relationships. They will seek out new opportunities to add value to existing activity and develop new ventures in collaboration with colleagues from a diverse range of different disciplines across the organisation. The ideal candidate will bring experience from a charity background and be used to supporting a broad portfolio of income generating activities. The Finance, Procurement, Strategic Planning and Analytics directorate, led by the Chief Financial Officer / VP (Finance), comprises c.150 roles located across our campuses in central London.  The Finance department of c.100 roles provides various accounting, assurance, advisory, decision support and financial processing functions for the whole university.

The Director of Finance Business Partnering (Operations) is a critical role within the Financial Strategy, Planning & Performance division that will lead, develop and deliver high quality finance business partnering and decision support to all the central services of the university, including providing financial planning, reporting and insight across revenue and capital funded activity. 

You will support the senior Director of the Financial Strategy, Planning & Performance function in development and improvement projects. Examples include the development of a professional competencies framework to support career progression and performance at all levels, supported by learning and development opportunities, improving key processes, resource allocation and financial planning methodologies, and reporting on financial performance.

As part of the function’s senior management team, this role will lead a team of finance business partners who will provide outstanding partnering services to our central services including large functions such as Estates and Facilities, IT, Students & Education, Research Management and on other crucial ‘head office’ activities. Working closely with the corporate reporting team on the provision of management accounts, you will lead on financial performance support in-year and across our three-year financial planning framework. You will also undertake and provide professional support to your team on business partnering skills, financial modelling, business case development and financial appraisals. You will play a wider role as a senior member of the finance leadership team on cross-college initiatives and be asked to deputise for the senior Director of the division or their peers.

It is an exciting time to join the university as we are making a step change in our support and advice, particularly to directorate heads and our Senior Vice Principal (Operations), and onwards through the leadership roles across the central service directorates where financial and operational decisions are made.

This is a full time post (36 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract. We work in a hybrid way and there is an expectation of being able to work at least three days a week in our offices to help facilitate a collaborative working culture.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

CENTRE ADMINISTRATOR

The Centre Administrator role at the Vassall Centre in our Oldbury Court Hub is a pivotal role in the provision of warm welcome and effective administration for our tenants, customers and community users. The postholder will be the face of the charity at the site and will lead on the provision of a safe, secure and welcoming environment for all users of the Vassall Centre site.
