About the role:

Join us in shaping the future of People and Culture at the British Museum, as we procure a new best-in-class HR and Recruitment System (HRIS).

As our HRIS technical lead, you'll play a key role in improving how we manage and use people data, ensuring our systems are accurate, efficient, and aligned with the Museum's evolving needs. You'll be the go-to expert for HRIS support, data analysis, and system enhancements, helping us deliver a high-quality service to our teams.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a forward-thinking transformation programme, working closely with our People Systems and Payroll Manager, and Head of People Transformation.

Key areas of responsibility:

• Be the technical expert for the HRIS providing support and coaching to colleagues and new users, reporting any required fixes, testing and support continuous development of the HRIS.
• Provide project support with the delivery of the HRIS project, including but not limited to the design, procurement and implementation of a modern and future-focussed HRIS.
• Ensure data integrity through the use and creation of validation reports to identify and correct issues, errors and anomalies in relation to post, employee, pay and reporting lines.
• Cleanse, prepare and analyse people related data to support the production of the People Management Reports on a monthly and quarterly basis.

BACKGROUND

Join us as we define a new era for The Alan Turing Institute. We are seeking a commercial, ambitious and inspirational Head of Culture and Learning to drive forward the developmental people aspects and initiatives required for the organisation to achieve its strategic objectives.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The Head of Culture and Learning will report directly to the Director of People. They will foster a positive work environment in order to develop a strong organisational culture. You will have evidential understanding of Professional Development, EDI and people practices and will balance creativity with pragmatism.

The ideal candidate will be CIPD qualified or have senior level learning and development experience qualified by practice. They will be able to influence senior management  and have experience of developing coaching, mentoring and feedback skills programmes that positively impact people outcomes.

MAIN DUTIES

•  Translate the Institute’s strategic objectives into actionable learning and development and cultural strategies, with clear, ambitious measurable goals and targets
• Lead, coach and mentor across the People Directorate to align with organisational goals
• Coach the management team on people, culture and development processes
• Work collaboratively with the other departmental People Heads to develop and implement learning and cultural strategies to support business objectives
• Advise executive leadership on professional development and organisational culture related matters
• Be propositional and proactive in suggesting developmental solutions to people challenges
• Lead on succession planning and talent management
• Lead on the creation and implementation of performance management processes and development planning
• Champion and embed the Institute’s EDI strategy within learning, leadership, and cultural initiatives, working in close partnership with the EDI Strategic Lead.
• Act as a senior advocate for inclusive culture, aligning learning and organisational development efforts with EDI objectives.

Terms and Conditions

This full time post is offered on a permanent basis at an annual salary of £80,000 - £85,000 plus excellent benefits, including flexible working and family friendly policies.

The Alan Turing Institute is based at the British Library, in the heart of London’s Knowledge Quarter. We expect staff to come to our office at least 4 days per month. Some roles may require more days in the office; the hiring manager will be able to confirm this during the interview.

The Highlands and Islands Students’ Association (HISA) is the democratic voice for student across the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI), representing learners at every level of study—from further education and apprenticeships through to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Our representation spans the full breadth of the UHI partnership, working closely with ten Academic Partners to ensure students are supported, included, and empowered wherever

The role of the Chief Executive Officer is to provide strategic support to the student officers within our student-led organisation, and to provide support and leadership to the senior leadership team and our Board of Trustees.

The post-holder is required to provide an interface between the Trustee Board and the leadership team, and between other key decision-making bodies within the Students’ Association, converting policy and strategy into action.

Our CEO will be a source of continuity within the Students’ Association, providing vision and expertise to drive the Association forward towards organisational goals whilst ensuring that the Association is structured to facilitate Student Officers’ work towards organisational objectives.
As a key contact and partner with UHI stakeholders, the CEO is required to work towards aligning the Students’ Associations' progression into the UHI’s strategy. The CEO should also ensure that all aspects of organisational risk are identified, monitored and managed.
