As Trusts and Foundations Manager, you will advise, develop and implement a strategy to secure income, and build a sustainable income stream, from charitable trusts, National Lottery and statutory bodies as part of the overall fundraising strategy. You will proactively prospect research to identify potential charitable trusts, National Lottery and statutory bodies funding streams with a view to securing restricted and unrestricted income for core activity and for new programmes of work. You will lead on the preparation of funding bids, planning and managing the process, working with the Director of Communications and Fundraising and/or the Head of Fundraising as appropriate. You will also be responsible for the account management of trust, lottery and statutory grants; ensuring that reporting is on-time, compliant with grant terms and conditions, professional and of high quality.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• Proven experience of writing successful and compelling proposals and applications to Trusts and Foundations and securing multi year funding
• Experience of working across an organisation to develop fundraising bids and reports
• Ability to undertake high quality research to identify potential trusts and foundation prospects
• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills; confident and personable with the ability to manage and build strong relationships with key individual donors and organisations.

This role will oversee the organisation’s fundraising activity, building on good foundations and with a number of new activities in the pipeline to take our fundraising into the next phase. The Role

The post-holder will oversee income generation from grant-making organisations and ensure timely reporting to funders.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following essential requirements:

• Drive growth of Trusts and Foundations income especially at the five- and six-figure level, with a particular view to supporting unrestricted income and major projects in the organisation’s pipeline.
• Proactively manage a personal portfolio of Trusts and Foundations, regularly meeting and engaging with prospective funders to pitch proposals and check-in around expectations.

We have been lucky enough to secure funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to undertake a two-year digital transformation, creating a more efficient and effective organisation. The Digital Transformation Manager will be pivotal in advancing the Trust’s digital transformation journey. THE ROLE
The Project Development Manager role is part of The Building Capacity Project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF), which seeks to develop the skills and capacity of communities on the west coast of Scotland to deliver the aims of the Alliance for Scotland’s Rainforest i.e. protect and restore Scotland’s globally important temperate rainforest. The Woodland Trust has secured funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) for this project's initial two-year ‘development’ phase.

The Project Development Manager will lead the development work, coordinating project partners to ensure the timely development of plans for the delivery and for the stage 2 funding bid to NLHF. They will oversee delivery of specific activities ensuring targets and timelines are adhered to and the prudent financial management of the development phase budget. They’ll produce reports and feedback to funders and the project board and steering group regarding progress as well as identifying opportunities to share best practice to maximise opportunities.

This is an 18 month fixed term position. Should our funding bid for the subsequent five-year ‘delivery’ phase be successful, we hope the PDM will remain in post to support the delivery of these plans.

THE CANDIDATE
You’ll have experience in project development, leadership and delivery in the environment, conservation or heritage sector including experience in managing contractors and consultants. You’ll have the ability to monitor, evaluate and learn from the project progress, using your excellent communication skills to report back to the funders and project board. 

You will have experience building meaningful working relationships with a range of key stakeholders, engaging effectively with them to be involved and inspired by our work and ensuring maximised potential impact of the project.  You will have a collaborative approach with experience of working with partners and multiple teams and organisations for a shared purpose.
You’ll be self-motivated and flexible having the ability to manage and organise a diverse workload.

What are we looking for?

Sue Lambert Trust are looking for a resilient and experienced  counsellor ready to take on the challenge of a leadership and management role within an organisation passionate about offering a kind, safe and supportive therapeutic service to survivors of sexual abuse and violence. In this role you would be responsible for the professional development of our team of counsellors as well as supporting both trainee and experienced counsellors in their work with us.  

Background Information:

Sue Lambert Trust provides kind, safe, supportive help for people who have experienced sexual or domestic abuse at some point in their lives.

We provide free, specialist support that enables people to recover, heal and build resilience to face the future. Our support is organized around a three-phased trauma informed approach.

Phase One Groundwork is designed to support clients with practical issues as well as providing stabilisation in preparation for counselling. Around 200 clients per year access this service.

Phase Two Counselling is the core provision and is delivered by 50+ trained counsellor volunteers working with around 300 clients weekly.

Phase Three aims to build resilience and includes interventions such as self-help groups.

We are funded by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioners Office, Ministry of Justice, National Lottery and several local and national Trusts and Foundations.

With the launch of a new strategy to guide us through to 2026 it is an opportune time to be joining an organization that is ambitious in its support for its clients.

Job Title:Counselling Support and Development Manager

Responsible to: Head of Counselling

Job purpose:

1. To ensure that all counsellors and staff are provided with the skills and knowledge to deliver and develop Sue Lambert Trust services.
2. To support the Head of Counselling to manage a team of staff and counsellors in delivering effective, safe and quality counselling and other appropriate therapeutic services.           
3. To support the Head of Counselling in the development of clinical services, and work collaboratively with the Service Support and Development Manager to implement Trauma Informed Practices (TIP)
4. To support the Head of Counselling in creating a safeguarding culture throughout the organisation.

Main responsibilities:

Operational Delivery

1. To develop and lead a needs-based plan for the learning and development of the counselling team aligned with Sue Lambert Trust strategy.

2. To organise and manage trainee counsellor placements, working in partnership with counsellor training providers to support and develop trainees in their ongoing training.

3. To act as the Senior Counselling Lead for all trainee counsellors, undertaking case management monthly

4. To work collaboratively to develop and support the implementation of consistent working practices across our sites with a focus on our Great Yarmouth office.

5. To lead on the development and training of a dedicated team of EMDR practitioners.

6. To act as one of the designated safeguarding leads within the organisation, providing support to Senior Counselling Leads and counsellors

7. To deputise for the Head of Counselling as and when required

Service Delivery

1. To provide one to one counselling and other therapeutic services as appropriate in line with the policies and requirements of the organisation

2. To ensure a skilled clinical team can deliver initial assessments, review and top-up calls, effective allocations, and any other services as directed.

3. To line manage the Senior Counselling Leads based in Great Yarmouth

4. To lead on best practice in clinical service delivery as outlined by BACP guidelines and statutory and regulatory requirements throughout the organisation.

5. To liaise where necessary and appropriate with external supervisors to support counsellors and clients.

Service Development

1. To ensure the clinical team collect client outcome measures and experience of service feedback to inform the ongoing development of the organisation.

2. To lead on recruiting, interviewing, inducting, and training new volunteers and trainees

3. To lead on clinical development within the counselling management team working alongside the Service Support and Development Manager to ensure quality of policies and procedures is client centred and trauma aware.

PERSON SPECIFICATION – Counselling Support and Development Manager

Qualifications:

1. Minimum Diploma level qualification in counselling

2. Minimum 450 hours clinically supervised counselling experience

3. Achieved or working towards BACP accreditation.

Skills/knowledge required:

1. Experience of planning and implementing a needs-based training and development programme for a team

2. Experience of working and understanding the needs of trainee’s and volunteers within a service

3. Experience of working in a client focussed multi disciplinary service

4. Experience of implementing quality standards and training across teams of staff, volunteers and trainees.

Purpose of Role

The Community Engagement Manager is a pivotal new role in the delivery of our refreshed strategy. Too many of the people who would benefit most from walking outdoors face significant barriers – they are under-represented in the Ramblers and the outdoors community. Ramblers has several projects at different stages of development and delivery to begin to address this, but we are aware there is a considerable body of theory and practice in public and charity sectors on outreach to excluded communities that could help us achieve our goals. 

We are looking for a professional with considerable experience in this area who can help us create a common approach to our outreach and engagement work that builds on our existing experience and incorporates wider best practice.

The role

1. To bring into the Ramblers expertise and best practice on approaches to community outreach and engagement from across the voluntary and public sectors.
2. To establish and deepen relationships with excluded communities, particularly lower IMD communities in existing and future pilot areas.
3. To support and advise project leaders within the Ramblers across GB who are engaging a range of excluded groups and audiences including refugees and asylum seekers, global majority communities, lower IMD communities, LGBTQI communities and people who are neurodivergent or have disabilities.
4. To collaborate with other project leads working with excluded communities within the Ramblers, to build consensus about a common approach or toolkit and to help develop, document, and implement this approach.
5. To help initiate and support partnerships with other national organisations working with excluded groups, including lower IMD communities – particularly those organisations looking to boost physical activity, involvement in the outdoors or the appreciation of nature.
6. To support funder relationships by contributing to bid development and reporting, including for Sport England and the National Lottery Community Fund.
7. To support efforts to build wider awareness across staff and volunteers at the Ramblers about what successful outreach and engagement with excluded groups looks like.

The person 

Knowledge and Experience 

• Good knowledge of the theoretical underpinnings of outreach/engagement with excluded communities.
• Experience of best practice in the delivery of community outreach/engagement, ideally in a variety of settings including lower IMD neighbourhoods.

• Experience of delivering public health, sport and physical activity, or nature-connectedness programmes in partnership with local communities and organisations.
• Experience of working with the voluntary sector, volunteers and ideally membership organisations.
• Experience of assessing and managing risk in relation to physical activities, or a willingness to learn.

Skills and Leadership 

• Experience of working with others in a leadership or co-ordination role to develop and implement new ways of working.
• Strong facilitation and training skills.
• Ability to lead group walks in a way that is enjoyable, engaging and safe for all participants.

Qualification [desirable]

• Walk Leadership qualification (e.g. Lowland Leader or Hill and Moorland Leader) – or ability to work towards one.
• Outdoor first aid qualification – or ability to work towards one.

As Fundraising Executive (Trusts), you will drive and accelerate income predominantly from charitable trusts and deliver an unrivalled supporter experience. You will assist with researching grant making organisations (e.g. charitable trusts, lottery and statutory organisations) to match identified funding needs, including essential core costs. You will be responsible for a charitable trust/statutory funding portfolio agreed with line manager. You will also write and lead on high quality funding proposals including assisting with project budgets.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• Experience of researching, drafting and submitting successful bids to charitable-trusts and/or statutory funders for >£10k
• Excellent written communication skills; (e.g. drafting formal letters/fundraising applications/ fundraising materials/social media or similar)
• Proven diverse formal & informal verbal communication skills including ability to engage and inspire supporters to fundraise (e.g. leading meetings/giving presentations to a range of stakeholders/motivating fundraisers or transferable skills)

About this Role

Together with the Director of Fundraising, the Philanthropy Manager will develop and deliver the Philanthropy Strategy, with the support of the Philanthropy Assistant.  This is a significant part of the organisation’s overall Supporter Engagement Strategy which focuses specifically on unrestricted income generation.  This role will raise unrestricted income through the development of Amref UK’s Major Gifts programme - the Mbele Movement - by identifying and cultivating new high net worth supporters, and inspiring them to make unrestricted, multi-year major gifts, in line with the Philanthropy Strategy. The Philanthropy Manager is also responsible for nurturing and growing our existing portfolio of philanthropists and philanthropic organisations by building strong relationships and securing unrestricted income in line with the Supporter Engagement Strategy.

Job description

• To work closely with the Head of Fundraising and Deputy Head of Fundraising to contribute to the development of strategy, budgets and plans across the department.
• To be collectively responsible with other Fundraising Managers for progress against strategy, budgets and plans.
• To proactively develop a culture of collaborative working in the department by effectively leading and managing a number of key fundraising projects.
• To ensure an informed Direct Mail program is delivered, maximising income through effective data segmentation, use of emotive case studies, powerful propositions and asks and appropriate donor pathways.
• To develop and lead a new approach for legacy fundraising, integrating the pathways to pledging a gift in a will through from first engagement with the charity and beyond.
• There is an option for this role to be 30 – 37.5 hour per week, rather than just full time.
