As Head of Finance, you will:

About this team:
The purpose of the Finance Department is to support the rest of Dogs Trust in achieving the strategic aims of the charity. The Role
This role will be responsible for researching and applying to small Trusts and managing an existing portfolio (up to 10K) alongside supporting larger grant applications where required. You will create and maintain a prospect list, apply for relevant opportunities and effectively steward existing funders, preparing reports and updates ensuring they meet donor guidelines. Furthermore you will support the migration of our CRM from Raisers Edge to Microsoft Dynamics.
The person
You will have Trust fundraising experience with excellent research and writing skills with ability to identify new Trusts to apply to, prepare accurate and compelling donor reports and case studies and be confident in approaching donors and promoting the work of Whizz-Kidz. You will have strong donor stewardship skills with ability to tailor approaches to the needs of the donor. We are looking for a Major Gift Development Manager with experience in building relationships with high-net-worth individuals to join our passionate and ambitious team to raise funds for our work in Scotland. It's an exciting time to join us with an ambitious £30m multi-year fundraising campaign underway featuring two major centre redevelopments taking place at our Glasgow and West Calder centres and the ambition to scale up our services across Scotland.
About this job:
As Major Gift Development Manager, you’ll:
- Manage a portfolio of existing major donors and prospects and ensure a first-class cultivation and stewardship journey with Dogs Trust to secure five and six figure gifts.
- Attend meetings with existing and new donors, developing bespoke, personalised written communications and proposals that fit with Dogs Trust’s brand.
- Manage and develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, such as other teams across Dogs Trust and VIPs.
- Support the Regional Major Gifts Team Manager in delivering the major donor elements of the fundraising strategy.
About You:
With a proven track record of personally securing major gifts from individuals and a strong understanding of philanthropy fundraising, you will be an excellent communicator capable of engaging with different audiences. Confident and credible, you will have the ability to form strong relationships with existing donors and the tenacity to build networks to find new supporters who can support our work with major gifts. You will have attention to detail and the ability to research and match criteria from donors to Dogs Trust activities and events. Driving license is also required.

As Trusts and Statutory Manager, you will play a vital role in this charity, developing and maintaining a strong pipeline of high value trusts and foundations (focusing on six-figure plus) donors, while line managing the Trusts Officer and Trusts and Stewardship Officer. You will lead and cultivate stewardship plans and exercise excellent proposal writing skills. This charity understands the importance of working flexibly and promotes a collaborative and supportive environment.
You don’t need line management experience for this role as they are willing to train people!
You will need:
- Excellent communication and writing skills to create high-quality proposals and reports
- A track record of building and managing funder relationships
- Interpersonal skills with an ability to motivate team members

Prospectus is delighted to be working with Your Place on an exciting role, Communications and Supporter Manager (Maternity Cover). Your Place's mission is to build hope and enable lasting change to end homelessness for people in east London. They are a growing charity, helping people who've lost their homes to regain their self-belief and rebuild their lives.
The Communications and Supporter Manager will provide direction and manage the team responsible for brand, communications, events and fundraising through individual giving, legacies and community and corporate partnerships. This role will also directly be responsible for Major Donor relations and income.
This role and its responsibilities are critical in the charity’s growth and delivery of strategic goals through brand development, stakeholder engagement and delivery of some key streams of fundraised income. This role will work closely with the new Head of Fundraising and Communications role which has recently been created, and with their established Trusts Fundraising Manager, to support diversification/growth of income streams.
The successful candidate will have experience of planning and delivering income growth and will have produced communications and/or fundraising plans in the charity sector. You will ideally have brand managerial experience as you will be line managing three members of a high performing team. With an ability to use your knowledge of successful supporter journeys, income generation and communications, this is a great opportunity to make an incredible difference to those who need it most.
This role has a salary of £39520 - £46800 and will be hybrid working from your home and from their office in East London.
