Grants Fundraising Officer (job share)

Hope and Homes for Children is looking for a Funding Coordination Officer (this is the job title used internally for this role), who'll play a key supportive role in the Grants Partnerships team and Marketing, Communications and Fundraising (MCF) department, contributing directly to the Grants team income target as well as supporting fundraisers across the department to access compelling information in support of their fundraising.

You will help to drive key cross departmental initiatives including the coordination of restricted funding for our country programmes and the development of proposals and reports for our key projects and thematic work.

You will also manage our small and medium trusts and foundations portfolio (including stewardship, reporting, and proactively approaching new prospects), and occasionally support Grants team colleagues with reports, proposals and stewardship of our high value relationships.

The Role

You will be instrumental in securing the funding, which the organisation needs to continue to deliver and develop its services, across a wide range of functions and projects. You will be an entrepreneurial, knowledgeable fundraiser, adept at finding the right opportunities to fit the right projects. You will also be meticulous and organised in your approach to stewardship, maintaining contact with funders and working with colleagues to collate the information needed for reporting.

The fundraising strategy contains plans to further develop specific areas of fundraising such as individual giving, corporate partnerships and legacies, and you may be called upon to support the Head of Fundraising in putting plans together for the implementation of these, working alongside the Senior Administrator (Fundraising and Communications).

About You

You will have experience in a fundraising, philanthropy or relationship management role and a track record of success in securing at least five-figure donations from grant and trust funders.

You will have:

· Knowledge of digital fundraising approaches

· Outstanding writing and communication skills

· The ability to understand financial language and budgets

· Strong research and prospecting skills

· The capacity to build excellent relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally

ROLE SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Vice President, Partnerships based in the UK, you will work closely with the teams in our dual headquarters (Toronto, Canada and London, UK), as well as programme and fundraising teams across Africa, Asia, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. You will be responsible for coordinating a variety of functions that support Right To Play’s (RTP’s) global business development and grant management strategy, supporting proposal development for new funding opportunities and grant management for existing donor partnerships. The role will also include internal support for different fundraising offices globally, to ensure joined up approaches are undertaken to secure and manage grant funding across RTP.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

#1. Funding Identification (15% of Time)

• Lead global prospecting for new business development by tracking funding opportunities, and researching suitable new funding opportunities from governments, private organizations, and foundations in line with RTP’s theory of change and organizational priorities.
• Research and understand the current funding strategies of institutional donors and philanthropic giving organisations to support strategic decision-making on new business development. This will include a focus on regional, country, and sectoral funding trends relevant to RTP’s geographic and thematic areas.
• Monitor funding opportunities and ‘calls’, ensuring that the relevant departments globally within RTP are informed in a timely manner with tailored information.
• Act as the global focal point for the internal application approval process by ensuring documentation for go/no go and proposal processes are compliant with procedures and stored in appropriate online portals.

#2. Proposal Development and Grant Management Support (30% of Time)

• Work in conjunction with relevant departments across RTP (including Global Programs, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, and Communications departments), to lead the development of different thematic and programme funding materials that will support new donor acquisition and strong donor stewardship.
• Support programme funding personnel across the organisation in the development of specific materials to assist in new business development and equip fundraisers to seek relevant funding opportunities.
• Support the development of proposals in response to specific funding opportunities as required by the Global Partnerships team and occasionally the Country Office teams, in some cases this will be leading on certain proposals.
• Support programme funding personnel across the organisation in the development of project narrative and financial reports, to ensure high standards of reporting and donor stewardship are maintained. In some cases, this will be leading on certain reports.
• Provide additional ad-hoc support to fundraising activities, personnel and offices across the organisation globally as required across the programme funding cycle to ensure strong proposal development and grant management practices are maintained. 
• Participate in, and represent, RTP in external meetings and networks as required.

#3. Data Management, System Compliance and Coordination (40% of Time)

• Track funding applications, pipelines and reports across all fundraising departments globally, using RTP’s Client Relationship Management (CRM) platform and other tracking tools as required.
• Work closely with fundraising offices across the organisation to ensure timely and accurate use of RTP’s CRM platform so accurate fundraising data is maintained in the system.
• Support quarterly reporting and analysis of global funding progress, funding pipelines, funding priorities, tracking against targets/objectives, and disseminate the information globally to all relevant staff.
• Support the preparation of materials (including presentations) on organisational funding performance for the senior Executive Management Teams.
• Manage internal information databases and Microsoft SharePoint sites ensuring documents related to proposals, donor reports, fundraising materials etc. are stored according to agreed protocols and disseminated across the fundraising and program delivery offices.
• Work closely with the Global Fundraising Operations Manager and Global Business Analyst to ensure the platform remains an accurate and effective database of donor information and responding to ad-hoc tasks as necessary.
• Lead on the preparation and coordination of various monthly procedures as required.

#4. Global Partnerships Team Support (10% of Time)

• Contribute to strategic discussions within the team to support planning and priorities.
• Support the planning and implementation of internal meetings and/or conferences.
• Keep up to date with the major issues pertaining to children, child rights and development, as well as the donor environment and developments within RTP.
• Additional tasks as requested by the members of the Global Partnerships Team.
• Undertake general office administrative tasks as needed.

INTRODUCTION TO THE ROLE

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Development and Outreach Officer to play a key role in mobilising resources, expanding the network, and raising awareness about child marriage globally. The Development and Outreach Officer will work within the Development and Outreach Team to develop and implement fundraising strategies, cultivate donor relationships, lead the development of grant proposals and reporting processes, and support with outreach events.
 

We are looking for a passionate fundraiser with previous experience in a similar role in the not-for-profit sector, international/intergovernmental organisation or social enterprise. You will have a proven track record of writing funding proposals for trusts and foundations, excellent relationship management and impeccable written communication skills.
 

Job location

London, UK (hybrid with up to three days on site per week). May include international travel.

Development and Outreach Manager

Salary range

£32,600 rising on an annual incremental basis. Girls Not Brides also offers a generous 10% pension.

Contract

This is a permanent full-time role. The successful candidate must have the right to work in the United Kingdom at the time of applying.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Proposal development, grant management and reporting

•  Develop concept notes and proposals, collaborating with relevant teams to ensure alignment with Girls Not Brides’ priorities and with donor requirements.
• Coordinate the preparation of budgets, work plans, and other supporting materials for grant applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with donor guidelines.
• Support in monitoring grant timelines, deliverables, and reporting requirements to ensure compliance and accountability.
• Prepare timely and accurate donor reports and updates.
   

Donor cultivation and stewardship

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and prospective donors to expand Girls Not Brides’ network and strengthen collaborations. 
   

Fundraising strategy

• Contribute to the development and implementation of fundraising strategies to diversify and increase Girls Not Brides’ funding base, in alignment with organisational goals and priorities.
• Research and identify potential funding opportunities from diverse sources, including trusts and foundations, governments and corporates.
• Collaborate with Girls Not Brides’ internal teams (regional, finance, communications, learning and impact teams) to maximise fundraising opportunities.
   

Outreach events

•  Support the team in the planning and implementation of events and outreach work throughout the year, working with other teams in the Secretariat, our members and partners.
•  Represent Girls Not Brides at meetings, conferences, and events to network with existing and potential donors, to promote the organisation's mission and impact.

Essential experience

• Significant professional experience in a similar level role in the not-for-profit sector, an international/intergovernmental organisation, a social movement, research centre or social enterprise.
• Proven track record of successfully securing grants and donations from diverse sources, with experience in proposal writing, donor cultivation, and grant management.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Role:The Senior Development Officer ​plays an integral role within the Development Team at Forces Employment Charity (FEC). You will work with the Head of Development to produce high quality, bespoke proposals, and reports to demonstrate impact and outcomes to help drive the delivery of FEC across the UK. You will also work within the team to research and identify new fundraising opportunities from trusts, foundations and companies and convert these into long term business relationships.

Principle Responsibilities:

• To work closely with the Head of Development to research and identify new opportunities.
