Regional Manager, North East & Cumbria (0.8 FTE)

We are pleased to offer a fixed-term opportunity within the Lloyds Bank Foundation due to the current Regional Manager taking a secondment.

This is a part-time (4 days per week) position, working from home, with regular travel across North East & Cumbria and to London. The post holder must live in the North East or Cumbria.

As Manager for North East & Cumbria, you’ll:

• Build trusted relationships with local charities, helping them grow stronger and more resilient.
• Support organisations to identify and overcome challenges, connecting them with resources and opportunities.
• Champion community-led change and ensure our work is shaped by the communities we serve.
• Collaborate with partners, stakeholders, and colleagues to maximise the impact of our investments.

About you

You’ll have extensive knowledge of the voluntary sector, experience supporting local charities, and excellent relationship-building and organisational skills. You’ll be proactive, collaborative, and comfortable navigating change.

You’ll be responsible for managing a portfolio of relationships with charitable partners and collaborating with other charities.You will support our charity partners in becoming more resilient and stronger, enabling them to thrive beyond the duration of their relationship with us.  You will do this by building trusted relationships with them, supporting them to identify their most pressing organisational challenges; and help them overcome the challenges by building the knowledge, skills and capabilities of staff and trustees.  You will work with charities, CICs, and partnerships to identify the most appropriate form of support to respond to the identified priorities.  Further information about LBFEW and our approach to supporting charity partners can be found on our website under the 'Development' section. 

You’ll be the face of the Foundation in the area, able to build strong and trusting relationships and be an advocate for community organisations across the patch. You’ll have a good understanding of the operating environment in the North East & Cumbria with well-established networks across the patch. You will also play a pivotal role in sharing learning, intelligence and insights to ensure the Foundations’ strategy development, delivery and relationship with the Lloyds Banking Group considers regional needs and the operating context of our funded partners.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Professional Practice

• Provide highly visible, credible leadership to nursing and care teams across the organisation.
• Act as a key delegate and deputy for the Director of Nursing and Quality / Registered Manager.

Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance

• Assist in the continued development, implementation, and maintenance of an effective organisation-wide clinical governance framework.

 Patient Safety, Clinical Risk and Incident Management

• Lead a culture of transparency, learning, and continuous improvement within the Nursing and Care directorate.
• Implement and oversee the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) and annual associated plan alongside the Head of Clinical Governance.
• Ensure timely review and oversight of incident reporting, risk assessments, serious incident investigations, and associated actions.

• Communicate themes and learning from incidents across the organisation.

Workforce Leadership, Development and Management

• Provide professional leadership to nursing, care, safeguarding, respiratory, pharmacy, clinical governance and clinical education teams.
• Line manage: Business Support Manager, Senior Clinical Lead, Lead Respiratory Nurse and three house managers, and associated teams.
• Ensure robust workforce planning, including appropriate skill mix and safe staffing.

• Ensure regular, high-quality clinical supervision, appraisal, and professional development opportunities.
• Oversee NMC revalidation processes and compliance with professional standards.

Nursing and Care Leadership

• Provide strategic leadership for the nursing and care education team and line manager this through the Senior Clinical Lead.

Safeguarding

• Ensure strong collaboration with safeguarding professionals ensuring safeguarding governance, policy implementation, training compliance, and multi-agency collaboration.
• Provide senior oversight of safeguarding concerns, investigations, and learning in conjunction with the Director of Nursing and Quality, and wider safeguarding team.

Infection Prevention and Control (IPC)

• Provide leadership for infection prevention and control, ensuring compliance with national guidelines.

Documentation, Information Management and Digital Systems

• Ensure safe, accurate and secure medical and care records, with regular audit for compliance.

Resource, Budget and Performance Management

• Hold delegated responsibility for staffing and non-staffing budgets across nursing, care, and residential services.

Gilgal Birmingham is a specialist domestic abuse charity providing refuge accommodation and community-based support for women and children at risk of, or experiencing, domestic abuse. We are seeking a Grants and Trusts Manager to secure and manage the funding that enables this vital work. This is a key strategic role leading our grants, trusts, statutory funding and corporate income pipeline, working closely with the CEO and Senior Management Team. You will be responsible for prospect research, high-quality bid writing, reporting, and building strong relationships with funders and partners. Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Planning

• Work with the CEO to implement Gilgal’s Fundraising and Income Generation Strategy.

• Develop and maintain a pipeline of funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, statutory bodies, and corporate partners.

• Prepare a rolling income generation plan with timelines and bid targets.

• Support the CEO in identifying opportunities for partnership bids and collaborative tenders.

Grants and Trusts

• Research and identify suitable funding opportunities aligned with Gilgal’s priorities.

• Develop strong, evidence-based funding proposals with clear outcomes and robust budgets.

• Coordinate with service leads and finance staff to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Manage the full bid lifecycle, from identification through to submission, monitoring, and evaluation.

• Maintain a funding tracker with deadlines, progress updates, and reporting requirements.

Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, trusts, commissioners, and partners.

• Provide ongoing updates to funders to strengthen long-term partnerships.

• Attend relevant meetings, events, and briefings.

Reporting and Monitoring

• Produce clear, impact-focused reports for funders and stakeholders.

• Work with colleagues to collect and analyse outcomes data to inform bids and reporting.

The Role: Senior Manager, Global Development

• Fundraising Strategy and Pipeline Management: Contribute to the design of an ambitious global grant fundraising strategy and manage its implementation. A good telephone manner is essential, together with excellent literacy, verbal analytical and IT skills, coupled with the ability to work to tight deadlines, often under pressure. To be able to show initiative and a ‘can do’ attitude at all times.

You will have worked in the charity sector at a senior level for a number of years and have the experience of managing a large teams is essential. Ideally, you will have a background in managing volunteers and have up to date knowledge of best practices, risk assessments and guidelines.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

v. Allocate CT admin enquiries and OOHs office voicemails daily.

vi. To Support The Community Service Manager with interviews for new members of the co ordinating team.

vii. In the absence of The Community Service Manager to deal with any difficult situations or complaints and to follow our complaints policies, guidelines and procedures.

viii. To communicate effectively with team members, respond promptly to staff and operational enquiries. Provide feedback and support as well as addressing any issues or concerns and where necessary make a referral to the Head of Department.

ix. Work with The Community Service Manager to ensure that the whole team work well together.

x. To work closely with the Community Support team.

xi. To help answer incoming calls and general queries relating to your team and relay messages where appropriate.

xii. Throughout the course of your work to ensure you record your responses on each individual case on our database.

xiii. Throughout the course of your work, to identify possible good stories to enable us to approach and persuade all individuals involved to submit an article for the newsletter.

• Contribute to the development of the charity’s wider fundraising strategy, ensuring trusts and foundations income complements individual giving, corporate partnerships, and community events. 
• Work with the Education and Comms team to ensure the right impact data and case studies are available to strengthen proposals and reports and contribute to organisation’s marketing work 
• Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of applications, grants, and funder communications in the CRM system. 
• Monitor sector trends and share insights on funding opportunities and best practice. 

The Quintin Hogg Trust (QHT) is seeking a highly organised and detail-driven Business and Governance Manager to support the smooth running of our governance, grant management, and operational functions. This role is central to ensuring strong regulatory compliance, effective Board and Committee administration, and robust coordination across our charity and its stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Governance & Board Support
• Prepare agendas and papers for Trustee and Committee meetings, liaising with the Chair and Deputy Chair.

• Produce accurate meeting minutes, record decisions and actions, and track progress for follow-up reporting.

• Ensure meetings are properly convened, quorate, and compliant with the governing document.

• Maintain key governance records, policies, and documents through the electronic library (DecisionTime).

• Manage the Trust’s risk register and conflicts of interest register.

• Organise trustee induction and ongoing training.

Operational & Administrative Support
• Coordinate with trustees, committee chairs, and advisers to ensure compliance with charity law and reporting requirements.

• Handle correspondence, collate information, and draft reports as needed.

• Manage insurance matters, including renewals.

• Enter into supplier contracts on behalf of the Trust.

• Support financial administration, including approving invoices and working with the accountant/bookkeeper.

• Assist in preparing the Annual Report and Accounts.

University Liaison
• Serve as the first administrative point of contact with the University of Westminster, ensuring decisions are communicated effectively.

Skills & Experience

Essential
• Experience working in a grant-giving charity, ideally within higher education.

• Understanding of financial processes relating to grants and experience auditing or reviewing grant recipients.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Advanced Excel skills or proficiency with grant-management software.

• Strong financial analytical skills and high attention to detail.

• Experience in effective negotiation.

Desirable
• Familiarity with charity governance frameworks
• Experience supporting Boards or Committees
• Ability to manage complex documentation and multi-stakeholder coordination
