Over the last five years, the Philanthropy team has gone from strength to strength, and we are now laying the foundations for long-term growth. We are building the tools, vision, and expertise to drive philanthropic income at Pancreatic Cancer UK and the Senior Philanthropy Manager is a key role in helping us deliver on our mission to double survival rates of pancreatic cancer by growing major donor income.

This role is responsible for delivering on three key areas of the major donor programme:

-Managing and growing a portfolio of major donor and high value supporters. Specifically focusing on encouraging and making the ask for long-term, multi-year 5-6 figure gifts.

-Driving major donor new business activity to build a sustainable pipeline using internal data analysis tools alongside network mapping exercises.

-Working collaboratively across the team to provide tailored stewardship journeys and experiences which build meaningful relationships with our closest supporters and demonstrate the impact of their support on our mission.

· You will have a track record of securing philanthropic donations and growing major donor pipelines.

· You will be a brilliant relationship fundraiser, able to build relationships, garner trust and inspire action.

· You will be curious about people, their motivations to support us and able to pursue and seek out new opportunities.

· You will be data-led in your approach to prospect research and have an interest in learning about new trends to apply to our programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

· Identify and maximise opportunities to raise funds from companies, trusts, foundations, and other funding bodies.

· Manage a portfolio of existing and prospective partners from across companies, trusts and foundations.

·  Research and maintain an on-going, sustainable pipeline of prospects including new trusts and foundations, companies and industry sectors.

· Plan, prepare and write compelling applications for funding.

· Build effective relationships with funders in order to secure long-term funding and support. Achieve income targets that support the delivery and fundraising goals.

· Keep accurate, relevant, timely records on our CRM and maintain regular communication with relevant teams including operations, finance, marketing and fundraising teams.

· Create inspiring reports and updates for funders that bring to life the impact of their support and demonstrate first class stewardship.

· Where appropriate, attend events to meet funders and/or promote EDT.

· Work closely with relevant teams to embed monitoring and evaluation throughout the funding process. Report on progress, results and income in a timely manner.

· Work with the Fundraising Manager with analysing trends to support the fundraising strategy.

Competencies and Attributes:

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong organisation skills - can manage workload and deadlines and proactively work to achieve timely delivery.

· Experience of securing funding from grant makers and/or companies.

· Experience of planning, preparing and writing high quality bids, funding applications and reports.

· Knowledge of managing funders' relationships. Knowledge of databases/data management, including producing reports.

· A strong team player, who can communicate effectively and engage colleagues at all levels and develop strong and productive relationships.

· Attention to detail and IT proficiency.

· Understanding of applicable legislation.

· A knowledge of the not for profit/charity sector.

· The ability to travel to locations across the UK on occasions to meet colleagues, funders and partners.

As Grants and Bids Manager, you will manage statutory funding applications of five, six and seven figure multi-year income compliant with commissioner/funder requirements and oversee the project management of applications – managing timelines, activities, delegating tasks and ensuring stakeholders meet them, support decision-making through providing relevant and informed advice and producing high quality funding proposals and applications.

• Experience of managing a trusts fundraising programme, and developing a trusts pipeline or equivalent.

• Developing networks amongst donors and prospects to promote Save the Children's work and grow opportunities for philanthropic gifts.

• Working in collaboration with other colleagues to identify, design and execute new engagement events, opportunities, and products for potential and existing donors.

To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Experience of working in a fundraising environment or similar experience where comparable skills can be used to work with potential high-level funders and supporters.

Haven House Children’s Hospice cares for children and young people who have life-limiting or life-threatening conditions across North and East London, West Essex and East Herts. Our mission is to provide the highest quality palliative and holistic care services to children and their families in our local communities.

We have recently restructured the Income Generation and Marketing team and this role sits within the High Value team, working alongside Corporate fundraising, Philanthropy and Special Events, and reporting into the Assistant Director of IGM/ Head of High Value Partnerships. The team are currently developing a new high value strategy, to underpin the organisation wide strategy and the overall IGM strategy.

As project manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operation and delivery of this vital  service, using your experience to develop the team, sharing best practice and seeking creative opportunities to continually improve the support we offer unpaid carers. You’ll develop trusted partnerships with local stakeholders, practitioners, businesses and services to promote and embed the service in the local area, supporting the development of a positive ‘carer friendly’ culture in Lewisham.

This role will suit a people person who can quickly develop relationships, lead a team, and work closely in a supportive role with Adult Carers, Young Adult Carers and Young Carers. You’ll have overall responsibility for the Carer’s hub, where carers can drop in for advice and support, manage a small caseload, and support the delivery of the service’s range of activities as required, including respite activities, online groups, face-to-face sessions.

We are looking for a great motivator with excellent communication and organisational skills. Applicants should have relevant team or project management experience in social care, health, education or the voluntary and community sector. You will have experience of working with vulnerable adults and/or children and operational knowledge of multi-agency working. A practical understanding of barriers faced by unpaid carers, and an awareness of cultural differences will be key in this role.

This is a full-time role and the postholder can either be based in the community in Lewisham or our New Ash Green office, with travel to the other area/ office 2 days a week. The postholder must have access to their own ULEZ compliant car.

Dyscover is a small, specialist charity providing long term support and opportunities to adults with aphasia, a complex language disability. We are looking for an experienced Business Manager with a strong Fundraising and Marketing background to join our team.

What’s the job?

We need someone with high quality research and data analysis skills to join us as our Research and Evidence Manager. You will work with us to plan, design and deliver projects with cross-sector stakeholders, as well as developing reports and other ways to share our findings with members and the wider sector. We need someone who has solid research skills, is a natural collaborator, and can collate and present research in different ways to help us achieve the change that’s needed for Londoners.

This role is crucial in ensuring that we deliver on our ambition to drive a learning culture, where shared data, intelligence and insight leads to better decision-making. This role is initially fixed term for one year, and may be subject to renewal. It reflects our growing commitment to ensuring our work is relevant and responsive to the diverse needs of our members and communities. As this is a newly developed post, we are also looking for someone who can work flexibly and bring ideas to help shape the role, so that it has a lasting impact on the way London Funders works.

So, what sort of work will you be doing? We’ve just committed to a really exciting and crucial piece of research taking place over the next year, where we will work with funders and equity partners to map the current state of funding for equity and justice infrastructure. This will initially focus on London, before we take the approach to cover England and Wales. The work will be used to inform discussions with funders on the strategic development of funding approaches in this critical space. You’ll be leading on the research and developing the workplan in a collaborative approach with our partners.

Alongside this project, your work will explore other aspects of the funding landscape in London and gather insights from across our membership. You’ll work on reports to support our range of thematic networks, and generate new evidence to help inform the work of funders and our partners across sectors. We’re looking for someone who thrives working as part of a small team, as well as working independently, who will suggest solutions to challenges and use their initiative. Someone who wants to help build a better London by taking action on what matters to our city and our communities.

Who are we looking for?

Our ideal candidate would be someone who has experience of running multiple research projects at once with strong project management skills, and direct experience designing and leading both qualitative and quantitative projects. You’ll also need to be able to work with different stakeholders to both co-design research approaches as well as facilitate their engagement in helping us learn from and make sense of the findings.  As such you will need a track record of building relationships in a range of contexts and producing and communicating research outputs in a range of different and accessible formats, including presenting to external audiences.

Whilst we are a small team, we share an office with our friends at Trust for London. There is flexibility about the hours for this role, so it would be available on a part-time or full-time basis (with a minimum of 24 hours per week, or 0.75 FTE). The skills, experience, insights and inspiration you will bring to the role are more important to us, so we'll do what we can to accommodate your preferred working pattern.

The salary is £36,400 per year (or pro rata if you choose part-time) and is a fixed term contract for one year, with the possibility of becoming permanent.
