Muscular Dystrophy Support Centre is a user-led charity dedicated to supporting people affected by muscular dystrophy - rare and sometimes life-limiting conditions that impact 110,000 people in the UK. We are one of only two dedicated MD therapy centres in the country and the only one in the Midlands.

We provide long-term, transformative physical therapies and community support to improve mobility, independence and quality of life. In 2025, we aim to support over 600 people through services at our Coventry HQ, satellites across the region, and online.

After a period of significant growth, we’re now focused on consolidating operations, improving systems, and preparing for the next stage in our development -guided by a new five-year strategy.

We’re looking for a compassionate, strategic and operationally-minded Chief Executive to lead us into this next phase. You’ll work closely with our Board, staff, volunteers, and service users to deliver sustainable growth, ensure operational excellence, and champion our community. About the role

This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives in a small but ambitious charity setting. As Chief Executive, you will:

• Lead the development and delivery of our strategic vision and operational plan.
• Responsible for day-to-day operations and embed robust systems for monitoring and continuous improvement.
• Ensure accurate data collection and reporting to guide effective decision-making.
• Support and develop a collaborative and values-led team culture.
• Oversee finances and income generation, including statutory funding and voluntary income.
• Act as our lead spokesperson and build strong external partnerships across the health, charity, and policy sectors.

Working closely with artists, creatives, community stakeholders and health colleagues, as Head of Arts & Wellbeing you will be leading on the design and delivery of projects and initiatives in the community with the aim to support young people’s mental health.

Main responsibilities include:

• To oversee the design and implementation of devise and structure a year round Arts & Wellbeing programme for young people that achieves the department’s objectives

• Oversee the set up, delivery and impact of the new Arts & Wellbeing programme

• Support significant stakeholder engagement, and take forward to implementation a range of south London community, arts and health partnerships

• Manage the Arts & Wellbeing budget, ensuring that projects are delivered within budget constraints and that financial reporting is accurate and timely

Key skills that would help you in this role include:

• A proven track record of designing and delivering programmes that support young people’s development, progression and health

• Passionate and committed to making a genuine difference in the lives of young people, particularly those from marginalised backgrounds

• Demonstrable understanding of youth participation best practices and safeguarding requirements.

Community Project Lead

IPSEA is the leading charity in the field of SEND law in England, and we provide free and independent legal advice and support to families of children and young people with SEND. We also provide training on the SEND legal framework, and we influence policy at both a local and national level.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Community Project Lead to join our team and lead the development of our advice services for under-served communities. This two-year, fixed-term role is a key part of our strategy to reach groups who may not traditionally engage with IPSEA’s support - including children and families with English as an additional language, cared-for children (children in care), migrant children, detained children, and Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities.

The project builds on a detailed scoping exercise we’ve recently completed, which involved working closely with a wide range of charities and organisations that support these communities. The resulting report outlines the barriers they face, and will form the foundation for this project and directly inform the work you will lead.

What you’ll do 

• Design and develop pilot advice services that are tailored to the needs of under-served communities, using findings from IPSEA’s research 

• Build and maintain strong relationships with community groups, charities and service providers to co-produce accessible services 

• Collaborate with IPSEA’s advice, legal and policy teams to address the barriers these communities face in accessing SEND legal advice 

• Contribute to and share outreach materials, training resources and toolkits to support families of under-served communities and empower local advocates 

• Plan and lead workshops, focus groups and community events to raise awareness, gather feedback and enhance service delivery 

• Monitor and report on project outcomes and impact, providing regular updates to IPSEA staff and stakeholders

The Role

This is a key role within Revitalise Trust, to help meet our fundraising targets by effectively managing a UK portfolio of existing donors and sourcing and securing new ones. Collaborating closely with the Director of Fundraising & International Partnerships, you will build strong relationships with existing funders in the UK and source and build relationships with new donors. • Significant fundraising experience, or a similar environment in raising funds to support an initiative, bringing in c. £2-3m in funds a year, including new funding.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Corporate Services, this role will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the Charity complies with relevant legislation and regulations.  The Head of Governance, Compliance & Risk will help maintain the ‘conscience of the charity’ to ensure that the Charity maintains public trust and executes its business in line with best practice. The person will: 

· Facilitate the smooth operation of the Charity’s formal decision-making governance structures (including Committees reporting to the Board), ensuring that all Board meetings and all Board Committees are properly constituted and provided with clear terms of reference.

· Ensure the Charity complies with its Articles of Association and where appropriate drafting and incorporating amendments in accordance with correct procedures, including management of any governance issues for the Charity Commission. 

· Review and monitor procedures to ensure that the Charity complies with the requirements of the Charity Commission and charity legislation alongside other company law and Company House requirements.

· Maintain the following registers and respond to appropriate requests concerning information they contain: Members of the Board of Trustees, Trustees’ interests, Gifts and hospitality accepted and refused, Persons with significant control register and Governance of the Donors register (adherence to GDPR).

· Be responsible for facilitating the proper induction of Trustees into their role, advising and assisting them in their duties and responsibilities.

· Update and review governance policies and procedures and ensure their effective implementation.

· Design and develop mechanisms to ensure that there is a robust framework for compliance with legislative, regulatory and policy requirements and that this is in line with best practice.

· Provide advice to staff on compliance with legislation, regulation and policies. This includes researching and investigating matters, challenging existing practice and agreeing new ways of working where required.

· Lead on the Charity’s whistleblowing arrangements and support the ‘Freedom to Speak Up Champion’ in the investigation and management of whistleblowing matters.

· Design and maintain key registers and declarations in line with internal and external requirements. This will include the development of other key internal compliance registers, including those relating to contracts, complaints and policies.

· Manage the Governance, Compliance and Risk Officer to support the operation and logistics of the governance, compliance and risk related work. 

· Contribute, as a member of the Charity’s management team, to the wider strategic projects and developments. 

· Work flexibly to support any governance, compliance, risk and legal responsibilities or other duties commensurate with the post.

The successful candidate will have:

· Qualification in corporate governance or relevant experience. 

· Experience of servicing and supporting Boards and committees and advising on complex governance matters. 

· Detailed knowledge of corporate governance practices, standards and methodologies, and proven experience of their application. 

· Working knowledge of data protection legislation and its application.

· Outstanding communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills with the proven ability to build strong relationships and influence others.

Hammersmith & Fulham Foodbank is looking for a compassionate and proactive Client Support Worker to support our Tackling Destitution Together project, in partnership with Citizens Advice H&F.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new, one-year pilot focused on addressing the factors which prevent effective early intervention in the borough and lead to high numbers of disabled people reaching crisis and destitution.

You will work directly with individuals referred by local agencies, taking time to understand their situation, identify root causes, and build personalised plans that connect them to the right support. This role involves ‘handholding’ – a flexible and responsive approach that adapts to each person’s needs to help them move towards long-term stability and independence.

You’ll be part of a small, committed project team aiming to strengthen early intervention in the borough. Your role will include working closely with referring partners, signposting to services, and contributing to data and research to help us understand what works and why.

Your experience will show a strong ability to build trust, navigate complex systems, and work in partnership with other organisations. You’ll be a clear communicator, well-organised, and motivated by making a meaningful difference in people’s lives before crisis hits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one support to clients, carrying out assessments and continued casework support, connecting clients to the right services.
• Deliver practical, personalised help to prevent crisis and support long-term stability.
• Manage referrals, record casework, and track outcomes using AdvicePro.

What You’ll Bring:

• A good understanding of the issues and the systems affecting those at risk of poverty. We do not expect advice-level experience, and this is not an adviser role.
• Experience of working on a 121 basis with disadvantaged, vulnerable or excluded people and have knowledge of local/national advice.
• Experience of working with a variety of stakeholders, preferably within the voluntary sector, including having worked within a team of staff and volunteers.

About the Service

Our Nightlight Service is proud to provide urgent support, crisis intervention and emotional support to people experiencing a mental health crisis in Hertfordshire as an alternative to statutory pathways.

We provide support to adults across Hertfordshire 7 days a week, 365 days a year through our helpline, crisis centres, crisis cafes and a weekend Crisis House. We aim to provide a safe space for people in crisis to talk and feel supported, be listened to without judgement, access relevant support with problem solving and facilitate access to external services when necessary. As a member of our team you will work closely with service users in crisis by using a person-centred approach as to ensure that each individual is supported with dignity and respect.

The objectives of Hertfordshire Mind Network’s (HMN) Nightlight Mental Health Crisis Services are:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health crisis in Hertfordshire.
• To increase early access to help for people experiencing mental health crisis in Hertfordshire, by providing a clear and effective pathway to services provided by Herts Mind Network and other third sector and statutory providers.
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To provide an alternative pathway to people in distress and crisis to support better outcomes and reduce the demand on statutory crisis services and emergency services.

At the Crisis Cafes we promote and enable people to access support in a way that suits them, whether that’s through talking to someone or simply by providing a safe space to have time alone or engage with trained staff.

About the Role

The Crisis Team Leader will be a key member of the Crisis Services management team, providing effective operational leadership delivering the Nightlight Café and Helpline services.

Purpose of Post

• Ensuring the delivery and development of quality crisis support services and instilling Hertfordshire Mind Network’s values throughout the provision.
• Provide management support to Café and Helpline Coordinators and support the Crisis Manager in ensuring practice within the service is safe, effective and person centred, as well as supporting the implementation of strategic service plans.
• Provide emotional support, advice, signposting, assessing risk, support planning for clients in mental health crisis often where risks are significant.
• Overseeing and ensuring the delivery of appropriate needs and risk assessments and support planning for clients.
• Liaison with statutory agencies to ensure appropriate intervention is obtained.
• Ensuring staff and volunteers feel supported, safe, trusted and valued and excel in their roles.

Location: Hybrid – NASP have an office space at London's Southbank Centre which can be used by staff at any time. The role will be expected to work up to 2 days per week in the office with the remainder at home. There may also be additional occasional travel required for staff days and other events.

Purpose of This Role: 

This is a new, pivotal strategic role to shape future policy and practice in how faith communities support social prescribing for the benefit of local communities. Building on the emerging body of research around the connection between faith and health, this role will take the lead at a national level influencing, shaping and convening partners to unlock and unleash the significant resources of faith groups in contributing towards holistic healthcare delivered within the community.

The purpose of this role is to lead and co-ordinate NASP’s national work on social prescribing with partners across the faith sector and enable a better understanding of how to work effectively with faith communities through social prescribing, and the role that faith and belief plays in supporting good health and wellbeing. The role will work to improve accessibility of community support through social prescribing. The role would have a particular emphasis on access and health inequalities due to faith groups’ reach into deprived communities and ethnic minority communities.

The role sits in the National Leads team and will work alongside colleagues leading on the key areas of the natural environment, physical activity, historic environment, arts and culture, children and young people and older people.

Person Specification: 

Role Overview: 

• Act as the faith lead within NASP, being the point of contact and key advocate for faith communities’ involvement in social prescribing

• Represent and develop faith groups’ engagement in NASP’s existing activities, programmes and events in a similar capacity to the other area leads

• Have a specific focus on connecting social prescribing and the health inequality agenda through faith communities 

Experience & Knowledge: 

• Excellent knowledge of the VCFSE (Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise) sector, and ideally the health sector or social prescribing

• Experience of working at a senior level in the faith sector. Experience of working within the health sector as well would be highly desirable.

• Understanding/experience of health policy and working with local communities/faith communities

• Excellent partnership building and interpersonal skills with experience of building trusting long-term relationships with partners and experience of inspiring, convening and supporting organisations to work in partnership.

• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, both internally with peers and senior management, and externally with partners and stakeholders.

• Understands the pressures that faith organisations, health and care agencies, VCFSE organisations and community groups face and where resources have been stretched.  

• Great planner and project manager, able to produce project plans and budgets and co-produce delivery plans with partners, identifying risks and managing them together.  

• Ability to write funding applications and develop new donor relationships to secure new funds.

Responsibilities: 

• Lead and co-ordinate NASP’s national work on social prescribing with partners across the faith sector.

• Build understanding and awareness within NASP and across other sectors of what is required to support the effective provision of services, activities and information in the faith sector to promote health and wellbeing through social prescribing.

• Liaise with and support new and existing initiatives to build an evidence base for faith-based social prescribing.

• Build a community of practice of health-engaged faith leaders to help consult on the workstream and to act as ambassadors for faith-based social prescribing.

• Ensure engagement of faith communities themselves in developing social prescribing strategy and policy, working with relevant partners.

• Provide high quality advice and insight on faith activity and services in support of NASP’s strategy development, communications and external briefings and meetings. and to enable NASP’s healthcare integration team to support the strategic development of faith SP at Integrated Care System level and secure place-based investment. 

• Map current tools, resources, guides and evidence and publish a ‘one stop shop’ online to enable better commissioning and delivery.

• Build consensus on the key policies required for the scale and spread of social prescribing for faith communities across stakeholders; a joint vision of ‘good faith-based SP’. 

• Identify and shape partnership opportunities to secure additional funding and resources to help build capacity to enable future social prescribing activity to better support people’s health and wellbeing outcomes.

• Enable awareness raising, shared learning, training and best practice within the faith sector and with other key social prescribing sectors.

• Budget Management - including day to day management, raising and processing payments and reporting.

Job requirements

What we're looking for:

• ACCA/ACA/CIMA or other chartered accounting qualification (or Finalist).

• Proven experience in a finance function in a hands-on role, including working proactively to improve and/or set up and manage effective financial processes.

• Extensive technical knowledge of accounting principles and best practice, with particular reference to specific UK charity accounting rules and regulations.

• Substantial experience of management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and reporting, plus involvement in financial year-end and annual statutory audit.

• Knowledge of SUNv6 and Infor Q&A or similar finance system, plus Excel analysis and data functions, working with large and variable datasets – and ideally knowledge of Proactis or similar.

• Proven experience of delivering a business partnering focused service and providing in depth insight, analysis, guidance and support to budget-holders.
