We are looking for a self-motivated Data Integrations Support and Projects Officer to support and develop data integrations across our digital platforms including CRM and websites.
You will have excellent customer care and problem-solving skills and a desire to put your abilities to good use for an organisation that is working to combat the climate and nature emergency.
Working for us you will be part of the IT team supporting colleagues from across the federation with their data integration requirements This role can be fully remote or hybrid homeworking with up to 3 days per week working from our main Newark premises.
You will have practical experience of working in an IT support environment with knowledge or experience of troubleshooting data integrations and will have experience of working with APIs in a business process automation context. You will be comfortable working across a broad range of cloud and digital platforms and providing support to end users. As well as a solid technical background, you will be an adept communicator with the ability to explain complex information in simple, clear terms to non-IT colleagues. You will be an analytical thinker, with problem solving skills with up-to-date technical knowledge across a broad range of platforms. Most importantly you will be self-motivated with a willingness to develop new skills and make use of new technologies. You will have excellent customer care skills and the ability to manage and prioritise workloads to ensure the best outcomes for the organisation and our IT service users.

At Oak, data analysis isn’t just about understanding outcomes, it’s about enabling impact. You’ll work at the heart of a mission-driven, fully remote organisation that takes pride in the clarity, fairness, and transparency of its financial management.
You’ll work with people across Oak to help them to track, measure and understand the impact of their work using data analysis, data visualisation, and communication skills.
This is a hands-on role with opportunities to work across the data life-cycle, from data collection, cleaning and transformation, analysis, and presentation. You'll have the opportunity to hone both your technical and interpersonal skills in the exciting Ed-Tech field.
�� What You’ll Be Doing

Provides support for ensuring data and analytics drive knowledge, insights and shared context for the organisation.

Drives the continuous improvement and quality of Oak’s insight generation tools, ensuring the organisation is supported to draw insight from Oak’s data.

Produce and maintain high-quality visualisations that support both internal and third party educational research and insights.

�� What We’re Looking For

Demonstrable experience and understanding of conducting data analysis, generating insights and visualising data.

Comfortable working with stakeholders from non-analytical backgrounds, gathering requirements, and translating them into structured analytical questions and approaches.

Highly data literate with a good working knowledge of data types, the use of basic descriptive statistics (e.g. mean, standard deviation), and how to use data visualisation tools and techniques effectively to communicate insight.

Ability to logically structure approaches to data transformation and analysis (e.g. sequentially / modularly) coupled with a strong understanding of how analytical programming languages (e.g. SQL, Python, R etc) can be used to support this..

You will be comfortable working at pace, with a range of digital systems (including proprietary ones as required) and you will continuously look at ways that the team can keep getting better. You will be excellent at working as part of a remote team, building relationships and managing your time effectively.

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our Product and Engineering team.
Oak engineers have a range of specialities and interests covering web application development, APIs, databases, serverless computing, GraphQL, React, and component-led UI. If you have experience in any of these areas, we'd love to hear from you.
We work together in product squads alongside designers, researchers and education experts, regularly releasing new features and improvements to give teachers and their pupils quick and easy access to the highest quality learning resources.

Development of highly performant ed-tech applications that are secure, scalable, highly available and accessible to the widest number of users that meet Government Digital Service standards

Lead the team on specific areas of the system, infrastructure, or code base

About the role
You will be home based and will need to travel in the UK, Eire, Europe and further afield as the role develops.

The role will be mainly remote working so your experience and motivation will be key in this role so that we can achieve tangible results.
Who we need?
You will be an excellent communicator, face to face, online, phone or email. You know the importance of listening, and you are the sort of person that brings focus and calm to difficult situations. Prioritising your workload is second nature. Perhaps most importantly of all, you’re energised and driven by a passion for learning and making life better for those with a long term and/or serious illness.
A degree is not essential, but a communication and fundraising skills qualification is desirable. It is important that you have a high standard of writing, and that you are on good terms with your computer, particularly MS office, email and maybe even Mailchimp, Zoom, Sage Accounting, Spreadsheets etc.
