YMCA Milton Keynes & Northamptonshire is growing, and we are looking for a Trusts, Foundations & Commissioning Manager to support our ambitious plans by securing both capital and revenue funding. We already have a highly engaged trusts and foundations portfolio and we are looking for someone to join the team to both manage existing relationships and identify and develop new potential. Whereas our commissioning arm is a brand-new income stream for YMCA and this role will oversee our statutory relationships, expanding our contracted work against strategic objectives, along with reporting on funder requirements against service specifications. 

Cross team collaboration is crucial for this role, building strong relationships to be able to identify need, develop bids that meet this need and reporting against agreed outcomes. A keen interest in monitoring and evaluation would also add value. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, experienced fundraiser, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets, within the charity sector. They will be an excellent writer, strong communicator and a natural relationship builder who drives results in a fast-paced environment.

Job Title: Volunteer Support Officer

THE ROLE
The Engagement and Communications Officer (ECO) is part of an exciting new ‘Building Capacity Project’ which seeks to develop the skills and capacity of communities on the west coast of Scotland to deliver the aims of the Alliance for Scotland’s Rainforest i.e. protect and restore Scotland’s globally important temperate rainforest. The Woodland Trust has secured funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) for this project's initial two-year ‘development’ phase.

The ECO will support the Project Development Manager, project team members and local staff working in three landscape-scale project ‘hubs’ (in Argyll, Morvern and Torridon). The role will provide opportunities for audiences to connect with Scotland’s rainforest and build the skills and capacity needed to sustainably restore it. This involves working with communities, organisations and specialists to a) raise awareness of Scotland’s rainforest, b) facilitate volunteering, on-the-job training and the sharing of learning about how to restore it, and c) inspire a long-term commitment to look after it.  

The ECO will plan and deliver communications and engagement activities during the project's development phase, and support the Project Development Manager to create a comprehensive activity plan for the delivery phase.  This includes surveying audiences to benchmark attitudes; managing a launch event; using existing (or establishing new) local and regional communication channels to reach audiences and share progress; co-developing with partners a series of meaningful engagement opportunities; supporting project ‘hubs’ to develop their own communications and engagement plans and monitoring the impact of project activities.

This is an 18-month fixed-term position. Should our funding bid for the subsequent five-year ‘delivery’ phase be successful, we hope the ECO will remain in post to support the delivery of these plans. 

THE CANDIDATE
You will have experience building relationships with a range of stakeholders including community organisations and are comfortable collaborating and engaging effectively for different outcomes e.g. learning, consultation or facilitation. 

You will be able to confidently organise and deliver a range of events from online webinars to community gatherings; have working knowledge of using social media for marketing, capturing interesting content and writing engaging stories, and you’ll be happy self-managing a diverse and varied workload. 

Plus you’ll have experience working as part of a project team, supporting funding bids, budgeting for, and reporting on the impact of your activity. Oh and have a genuine interest in Scotland’s rainforest of course!

A full UK driving licence is required so you can travel across the west coast when required. Access to your own vehicle would be ideal.

This area covers prisons HMP Winchester, HMP Bullingdon, HMP Grendon, HMP Springhill, HMP Aylesbury, HMP Huntercombe, HMP Woodhill, HMP Isle of Wight and HMP Gurnsey. We are seeking proactive, committed, and enthusiastic applicants to join our team and help us continue our journey.

Working closely with people in prison, prison managers, Shannon Trust staff and volunteers you will ensure development of our criminal programmes maximising literacy and numeracy learning opportunities for people across a number of prisons and contracts in your area. 

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings, managing teams and contract performance, underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. This is a home-based role which requires regular weekly travel across the South Central area to prisons and meetings (anticipated number of travel days are 2 days per week).

Grants Fundraising Officer (job share)

Hope and Homes for Children is looking for a Funding Coordination Officer (this is the job title used internally for this role), who'll play a key supportive role in the Grants Partnerships team and Marketing, Communications and Fundraising (MCF) department, contributing directly to the Grants team income target as well as supporting fundraisers across the department to access compelling information in support of their fundraising.

The Inclusion Officer will be responsible for the management, coordination, and delivery of the Trust’s social inclusion programmes across Northamptonshire, this includes the Premier League Kicks programme and anti-crime initiatives. The Premier League Kicks programme is a flagship targeted project, which uses the power of football and sports participation, alongside personal development activities, to help hard-to-reach young people in some of the most high-need areas. 

The Inclusion Officer will be integral to the successful delivery and growth of the Kicks Programme across Northamptonshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and development of the Kicks programme, as well as other disability and inclusion projects that help to connect communities, leading a team to deliver these initiatives. In addition, the post holder will have frontline delivery responsibility, engaging with young people, leading on the delivery of youth engagement sessions, and the delivery of educational workshops in the local community.

The Communications Officer is a key supporting role within the Communications team. The post holder will research, write, and publish content across various channels, liaising with teams across the organisation to help identify content. This role is the first point of contact for journalists getting in touch with the Trussell Trust. The role is accountable for handling media enquiries; checking and responding to the press inbox; media monitoring and securing press coverage. The Press Officer will assist with media work through print, online and broadcast news to help build understanding, awareness and consideration of the organisation’s mission and goal. The Press Officer will support and advise colleagues, food banks in the network and external stakeholders to ensure they receive media coverage of strategically important projects.

THE ROLE
The Rainforest Project Officer role is based in South West England and funded by the  Species Survival Fund which National Lottery Heritage Fund are delivering on behalf of Defra. The role will include providing advice and support for landowners on the creation and management of temperate rainforests; overseeing rainforest restoration on the Woodland Trust estate; and working with the regional communications and engagement team to deliver a wide range of rainforest themed communications and engagement activities to showcase and raise awareness about the importance of the Temperate Rainforest and the work of the Woodland Trust. 

The Rainforest Project Officer will oversee, and help deliver, a diverse programme of work for the project, as well as line managing two early-career trainees to increase their knowledge and develop the skills needed to inspire a wide range of audiences to engage with this precious habitat.

This is an 18 month fixed term position.

This year is an exciting year as the Trust launches its new ten-year strategic plan. Bumblebees are in crisis and we are leading the fight to secure their future.

Guided by the latest science we carry out research, influence environmental policy and conserve and create bumblebee friendly habitats. We inspire people and organisations to take action for our precious bumblebees, working together to help them thrive.

To help deliver this mission, you will be a motivated, resilient self-starter with a can-do attitude. An excellent and engaging all-round communicator, you will enjoy a busy role developing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders; solutions-oriented; and able to deal with challenges and change.

You will have a keen eye for detail, an organised approach to your work, with ability to work to strict deadlines and an ability to enthuse people about the plight of our furry winged warriors.

Your primary role will be to work closely with the fundraising, conservation, science and engagement staff and external partners to identify and develop projects.This involves identifying and securing project funding through lottery, trusts and foundations alongside nurturing unrestricted income for the Trust’s work from grant making trusts and foundations.
