My client is a proudly independent media organisation that champions the need for integrity in journalism, ensuring everyone has access to a fair and trustworthy media. At present they are looking to appoint an interim Finance Director to guide the organisation through a critical transitional period.

Reporting directly into the Chief Executive, key responsibilities will include:

• Lead all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, audit, and risk management
• Provide strategic financial insight to support executive and Board-level decision making
• Responsibility for HR, IT, Investment and Company Secretarial matters
• Support ongoing organisational development and transformation projects

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant and have previous experience of working at board level within the charity sector. The Grants Officer will work as part of the Grants & Programmes Team to support organisations applying for funding each year through the Foundations grants programme.  The post holder manages important relationships with potential and current grantees, building trust and an understanding of their purpose and aims and supporting them to submit appropriate and high-quality applications for funding against the funds criteria and Foundation’s priorities. To contribute to wider initiatives, as directed by the Senior Grants Manager to ensure the Foundation maintain high standards and contribute to national data sharing and initiatives that strengthen the work and reach of the foundation. The Grants Officer will report to the Senior Grants Manager and will work closely with colleagues across the Foundation contributing to the delivery of the Foundation’s Strategic Plan, Vision and values.

Responsibilities
To undertake tasks associated with BLCF's grantmaking functions, including carrying out due diligence and assessments of grants applications (under the supervision of the Senior Grants Manager).

Process all applications within agreed timelines, working alongside Fund Leads to review and assess grant applications effectively. 

Work alongside members of the team and Data Officer to maximise use of our in-house CRM database for monitoring and impact reporting.  

Provide grant-making support and advice to potential and existing grantees on our funds and programmes, under the guidance of the Senior Grants Manager, to ensure open and transparent access to our programmes and proactively looking to address inequality and fairer access to opportunities the Foundation offers. 

Work closely with other members of the team to ensure that the Foundation achieves excellence in grant-making and all its operational aspects. 

Carry out other associated duties, which may arise, develop, or be assigned, in line with the scale and general nature of the post. 
 

Performance Management

Contribute to the production of delivery/donor reports as required to funders as requested by Senior Grants Manager. 

Work with Senior Grants Manager to agreed development areas in annual appraisal to ensure high levels of knowledge and expertise are developed that add value to the Foundation. 

Ensure appropriate levels of training are maintained and a good working understanding of the policies and procedures of the Foundation.

Relationship Management
Maintain and share our vision and values and help those who wish to work with us understand the processes and requirements we have. Listen and learn, and share the needs of communities back into the work of the Foundation to ensure we are always 'need led'. 

Representing the Organisation
Maintain a good working understanding of community and charity sector issues to better inform our work, ensuring information is cascaded to wider members of the team. 

Be an ambassador for the work of the Foundation by demonstrating its values in the delivery of its work. 
 

Experience
Clear understanding of the wider voluntary and charity sector in Bedfordshire.

Some experience of working in and for the charity and volunteer sectors.

Some prior experience of grant-making or similar assessment work (D). 

Skills & Abilities 
Excellent personnel skills and able to work effectively within a small team providing support across a width of areas. 

A self-starter, able to act on own initiative and to organise, plan and prioritise own workload to meet deadlines.

Job Purpose: The Senior Programme Development Officer is responsible for identifying and securing funding and managing relationships with Peace Direct’s funders

Reporting to: Programme Development Manager

Location: The position will be based at Peace Direct’s office in London.

The Role

Working within our International Partnerships, Programmes and Research (IPPR) team, the Senior Programme Development Officer will secure income for Peace Direct through research, development and management of relationships with new and existing funders. The post holder will proactively identify new funders, write proposals and reports and steward relationships to secure and maintain the funding necessary for Peace Direct to achieve its organisational goals. This includes programmatic, research, advocacy and strategic funding, working with restricted and unrestricted grants from institutional and trust and foundation funders ranging from £1,000 to £1m+. In collaboration with others, the post holder will also accompany advise and support local partners to diversify their funding.

The role is for someone with an enthusiasm for working with funders, with a strong track record of successfully securing grants from trusts, foundations and/or institutional donors. You will have strong writing skills, exceptional attention to detail and be capable of working effectively and efficiently to tight deadlines. A strong affinity with peacebuilding and an interest in challenging the way the international cooperation and peacebuilding sectors works would be beneficial, as would language skills in French, Spanish and/or Arabic.

The Mental Health Foundation is recruiting for a Database Officer to support our Public Fundraising team.

This exciting Database Officer role will support the data team with data imports, data selections and processing of income.

The Foundation has just started using a new CRM after undergoing a CRM migration from Raiser’s Edge, a very exciting time to be joining the Foundation! This role, alongside with other members of the data team, will liaise with the CRM Project Teams to support and ensure the successful outcome of the project and get us up to BAU.

What does the role involve?

• Manage data processes, imports and exports of all fundraising data including direct debits, new donors, email sign ups etc.in accordance with agreed protocols and in agreement with Database Manager.
• Ensure that the use of the Fundraising database and the capture of all data from supporters or prospects conforms to data protection guidelines including GDPR in particular relating to supporter preferences and consent.
• Support training for colleagues using the new CRM (Beacon) and help ensure all members are trained and kept up to date on new features and enhancements as they require to do their job effectively.
• Support the reconciliation of the bank statement with Beacon and ensure the Finance team know where to find information to enable accurate coding for management accounts.

What skills, knowledge and experience are we looking for?

• Demonstrable relevant experience working in Fundraising, or a Charity database team role using Beacon, Raiser’s Edge or any database similar, with experience of CRMs in general.
• Evidenced experience of managing high volumes of personal data using a large and complex supporter/CRM database.
• Evidenced ability to think analytically and deliver the most effective and accurate solutions for data capture, manipulation and reporting.

Single Friendly Church Network is a young charity which encourages churches to welcome and value single people at every stage of life and of all types of singleness. Our work and influence are growing across a wide range of denominations. We want to reach more churches across the UK who could benefit from our resources and training, with the vision that all single Christians will be able to find a welcoming Single Friendly Church in their local area where they can flourish.

We achieved charitable status in 2023 (before that we were a Community Interest Company) and have a newly refined purpose and identity set out in a new website and other digital media (including in our promotional film ‘Inspiring Change’ available on YouTube). We have developed ‘5 Steps‘ towards becoming a Single Friendly Church.

We now aim to expand our impact across the UK and deepen our engagement with churches from a wide range of Christian denominations, in accordance with our strategy.

After 3 years our existing Executive Director is stepping down from the role and we are seeking a new person to take the next steps forward.

• Significant experience delivering homelessness, housing, addiction recovery or therapeutic services.

As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Services will help shape SCT’s strategy and build sustainable partnerships to maximise impact and long-term success.

About: All Ways Network (AWN) is a second-tier support organisation dedicated to empowering charities/not-for-profits (NFPs) that work with Muslim communities across the UK to become more fundable. We aim to enhance their capacity, sustainability, and impact through tailored support, resources, and strategic partnerships. 

Position Overview: The Funder & Engagement Officer will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between funders and the charities we support. This position is responsible for enhancing funding awareness, establishing and nurturing strategic partnerships, and providing comprehensive support to our network of organisations. As this is a new position at AWN, we encourage applications from individuals who are confident in navigating new ground and keen to help define the role’s impact.

Key Responsibilities: 

Fundraising Support: 

• Provide personalised consultations to charities/NFPs we work with to develop and refine their grants and trusts strategies. 

• Assist charities in identifying funding opportunities and preparing compelling grant applications. 

• Organise and conduct workshops and training sessions on fundraising best practices, funder engagement, monitoring and evaluation, and grant writing. 

Relationship Building: 

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of grant funders 

• Facilitate strategic partnerships between member charities, infrastructure groups, and funders. 

• Represent AWN at relevant networking events, conferences, and meetings to promote the interests of our member organisations.

Resource Development: 

• Create and disseminate practical resources, toolkits, and guides to support charities. 

• Develop materials that highlight successful case studies and best practices within the sector. 

Monitoring and Evaluation: 

• Implement a robust monitoring and evaluation framework to assess the effectiveness of fundraising efforts and support provided. 

• Collect and analyse data to track progress and make informed recommendations for improvement. 

Communication and Reporting: 

• Prepare regular reports on activities, outcomes, and impacts for internal and external stakeholders. 

• Maintain clear and consistent communication with a network of service users/charities to ensure their needs are met and feedback is integrated.

Qualifications and Experience: 

• At least 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, grant management or not-for-profit management. 

• Proven track record or strong knowledge of successful grant writing and fundraising initiatives. 

• Strong understanding of the funding landscape and the unique challenges faced by charities serving Muslim communities. 

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders. 

• Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver effective training and capacity-building programs. 

• Proficiency in using digital tools for remote work and virtual collaboration. 

• Commitment to AWN’s mission and values, with a proactive and results-oriented approach. 

• Excellent written skills. 

• Comfortable in public speaking. 

• Proactive in creating and developing this role. Can confidently work independently. 

• Ideally the person should live in or the surrounding areas of London. We currently don't have an office space but we are forming a London team.

Senior Fundraising and Corporate Sponsorship Officer

Job Purpose:

We are looking for an experienced fundraising and corporate sponsorship officer to lead our small and friendly fundraising team and be responsible for creating a fundraising strategy, that will diversify and grow our income, in order to meet the fundraising targets set by our Board and thereby support the vital services we deliver to people affected by domestic abuse across Norfolk and Suffolk.

Essential requirements:

Relevant management qualification at level 3 or above and/or proven experience of managing staff.

Proven experience of income generation for not-for-profit organisations, through individual giving, corporate partnerships, grants, and community fundraising, and organising and running events.

Proven experience of planning and executing fundraising campaigns with a focus on corporate relationships.

A strong social purpose with a proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with donors, businesses and funders.

Active networking links within the Counties of Norfolk and Suffolk.

Great at stakeholder engagement and management.

Ability to give presentations to large groups of people and engage with people on a 1:1 basis.

Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, able to interact professionally at all levels.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and able to always respond calmly and professionally.

Good organisational and project management skills.
