GSTTKPA is going through an exciting period of change. As a result, we are seeking to recruit a new Chair to support our ambitious and innovative change programme, so we can continue to achieve the aims and objectives of the charity.
The Chair role provides leadership to the organisation and the Trustee board by ensuring that everyone remains focused on the delivery of the organisation’s charitable purposes in order to ensure that GSTTKPA moves forward and continues to benefit kidney patients in the future.
The Chair will also need to set the strategy for the charity for the next few years which is vital for ensuring that our work and goals are in line with our vision. Just as importantly, the new post holder must understand that all the Trustees have a collective responsibility. This means that the Chair and the other Trustees must always act as a group and not as individuals.
As a Trustee, the new Chair must have a commitment to equality; celebrate diversity and be responsive to the needs of different groups and individuals within GSTTKPA and the wider community. In return, the successful applicant will join a warm and friendly team that works collaboratively to support each other as well as our kidney patients.

Our board of trustees have the ultimate responsibility for our success, and as our long standing Chair is stepping down after two terms in office, we need someone new to lead this next phase.
The trustees meet on a regular basis to discuss Pause’s progress, problems and the future. They listen to, support and challenge the Chief Executive and leadership team, to make sure they stay on track and meet all their legal obligations. They also work with the Pause Advisory Group, which is made up of women who have completed the Pause Programme, to ensure that women are consulted on and involved in crucial decision-making.
Pause currently has eight trustees who all have different skills, experience and expertise. What brings them together, is their passion for improving the lives of women who’ve had children removed from their care.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our Board of Trustees for Emersons Green Village Hall; we need Trustees with a wide variety of skills and a diversity of background and experiences that they can apply to this role.
The Board of Trustees is the governing body of our charity. It is where final decisions are made. The Board’s key role is to make sure that the charity is successful in working towards its aims and objectives. The Board oversees the management of the hall and its staff and is responsible for the larger decisions, keeping an eye on the budgets and generally helping to ensure the halls continued success. This may include approving improvements to the hall, enacting policies, supporting the Hall Manager and the staff in dealing with hirers and staging community events and activities, and planning and monitoring progress.
We are looking for Trustees with a wide variety of skills and experiences. Experience in community facilities or running community projects would be helpful. We are also looking for Trustees with experience in business development and income generation. As a member of our Board of Trustees you will have the opportunity to provide leadership in helping to shape the future of the hall and strategic direction and ensure financial viability for the future.
As a team, the Trustee Board is supported by an established staff team including the Hall Manager, plus the Treasurer and Company Secretary.
We have 6 scheduled meetings a year and then usually a few ad hoc ones to look at budgets and staff meetings. These are usually in the evenings. The regular meetings tend to last about 2.5 hours.

Role Description
Objective
The Chair will hold the Board and Executive Team to account for YSS’s mission and vision, providing inclusive leadership to the Board of Trustees, ensuring that each trustee fulfils their duties and responsibilities for the effective governance of the charity. The Chair will also support, and, where appropriate, challenge the Managing Director and ensure that the Board functions as a unit and works closely with the entire Executive of the charity to achieve agreed objectives. He or she will act as an ambassador and the public face of YSS in partnership with the Managing Director.
Principal responsibilities
Strategic leadership
• Provide leadership to YSS and its Board, ensuring that the charity has maximum impact for its
service users.
• Support the Managing Director to lead and manage the organisation well, give regular feedback on performance and conduct an annual appraisal.
• Ensure that Trustees fulfil their duties and responsibilities for the effective governance of YSS.
• Ensure that the Board operates within its charitable objectives and provides a clear strategic direction for YSS.
• Ensure that the Board is able to regularly review major risks and associated opportunities and satisfy itself that systems are in place to take advantage of opportunities and manage and mitigate the risks.
• Ensure that the Board fulfils its duties to ensure sound financial health of YSS (in combination with the lead finance Trustee), with systems in place to ensure.
Governance
• Ensure that the governance arrangements are working in the most effective way for YSS and that the Board regularly reviews major risks and associated opportunities.
• Develop the knowledge and capability of the Board of Trustees.
• Encourage positive change, where appropriate address and resolve any conflicts within the Board.
• Ensure that the Board of Trustees is regularly refreshed, reflects the wider population and service users of YSS and incorporates the right balance of skills, knowledge and experience needed to govern and lead YSS effectively.
• Work within any agreed policies adopted by YSS.
External Relations
• Act as an ambassador for YSS objectives and mission.
• Act as a spokesperson for YSS when appropriate.
• Represent YSS at external functions, meetings, and events (taking into account time commitments outside of the role).
Relationship with the Managing Director and the wider management team
• To work in partnership and support the Managing Director to ensure that the charity has a clear vision, mission, and strategic direction.
• Support the Managing Director, whilst respecting the boundaries which exist between the two roles, ensuring regular contact in an open and supportive way with opportunity for professional development and external professional support when agreed.

Terms of Appointment
Remuneration
The role of Chair is not accompanied by any financial remuneration, although reasonable out of
pocket expenses can be claimed.
Location
YSS operates across Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, and Warwickshire. Our offices are in Blackpole, Worcester.
Time commitment
Between 2 and 3 days per month. The YSS Board currently meet 6 times a year and holds 2 Audit & Risk committee meetings and up to 2 strategy planning days per year. The Chair is also expected to have regular meetings with the Managing Director and may, subject to an individual’s time commitments, represent YSS at essential events. All board members are encouraged to attend YSS events, including visits from our charity Patron and are welcome to make occasional visits to projects to see first-hand the work of YSS, the people supported, staff and volunteers.
The charity’s Chair (and board members) will be elected for an initial term of one year, after which they may be eligible for re-appointment for additional three-year terms, for a maximum of 10-year term.

Job Title: Trustee
We are working in partnership with the Kent Wildlife Trust (KWT), one of the largest of the 46 Wildlife Trusts, which together make up The Wildlife Trusts Partnership. KWT is a parent charity supported by three income-generating subsidiaries (an ecological consultancy, a high-integrity carbon offset scheme and a trading arm), which together with the charity make up the Kent Wildlife Trust Group (KWTG). Their Wilder Kent 2030 strategy was launched in 2023, with a vision for creating a nature-rich, climate-resilient Kent, and in acknowledgement that we must act now at scale to recover nature across Kent, and the entire UK.
An exciting opportunity has now arisen for a new Trustee to join KWTG’s Board of Trustees. The new Trustee will support the governance and strategic leadership of KWTG, and alongside standard commitments, the new Trustee will bring specific knowledge and professional expertise in regard to UK nature, conservation and/or natural resource and climate challenges, and with direct experience of using political and/or economic levers to influence this agenda.
Candidates with experience of the green/carbon finance markets, sustainability and ESG, environmental departments/agencies, and conservation impact measurement are actively sought.
Successful candidates must also be able to demonstrate:
- Professional alignment to KWTG’s mission and approach to addressing the climate and nature crisis through action and innovation.

Trustees serve for an initial term of three years and will have the opportunity to be re-appointed for two further terms (maximum of nine years). The Board of Trustees (Council) meets at least four times a year at their headquarters in Maidstone. As a minimum commitment, Trustees are expected to attend Council and be available for regular consultation and input on a range of issues between meetings, usually via email. Trustees are also expected to attend the AGM, at least one All Trust Day and participate on sub-committees or subsidiary company boards as required and according to their skill set.

Sepsis is a life-threatening condition that affects 245,000 people in the UK every year. At least 48,000 of those people lose their lives to the condition. We believe that earlier diagnosis and treatment across the UK would save thousands more lives a year.

The UK Sepsis Trust has ambitious plans to increase awareness, educate wider networks beyond direct care health professionals and provide support to an ever-increasing population of survivors and bereaved. The Barbara Bus Fund is recruiting for a new Chairperson.
The Barbara Bus Fund is a registered charity, which was set up in 1968 to help people who cannot get out or use public transport or an ordinary car, because they have a disability that necessitates full-time use of a wheelchair.
Today the BBF operates a fleet of 15 specially converted vehicles from Stanmore, Aylesbury and North Wales. The BBF is operated by a combination of paid and volunteer staff with head office at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore.
The role of Chair is a voluntary position with the requirement to commit to one to two days per month, attend online meetings every 6-8 weeks and the AGM. The Chair will lead the Board of Trustees, chair committee meetings and the AGM.
Previous trustee / charity experience is required and the commitment to Nolan’s seven principles of public life: selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty and leadership. Previous experience within the health / care / transport sectors will be a distinct advantage however, other relevant experience and the right attributes will also be considered.

CHEM Trust seeks new Trustees to guide the charity in the next exciting stage of its growth
CHEM Trust focuses its work on preventing this pollution. We bring together science and policy to identify the chemicals that need to be controlled and the best way to do this. We collaborate closely with other environmental and health groups to drive this positive change for people and nature.
Our main area of attention is at the EU level. Even though many improvements are needed, the EU is the region that has the most effective chemicals policy system and EU regulations shape other regulatory systems around the world. We do this work in association with our German partner, CHEM Trust Europe eV, as well as EU-wide groups such as the European Environment Bureau.
We also work in the UK, to keep us closely aligned with the EU system. At the global level we work to deliver improvements to global chemicals management, inspired and informed by the work already done at the EU level.
Since 2007, we have shaped chemicals policies, and are seen as trusted partners. We have a good reputation with experts, scientists, other charities, and industry. Many of our wonderful funders recognise the unique and vital work that we do and support us year in and year out.
We have grown considerably in recent years and now employ an amazing team of 12 people in the UK and a group of experts within the EU.

An independent charity, The Centre for Sustainable Healthcare (CSH) has been leading efforts to incorporate the values of environmental sustainability into the health sector since its establishment in 2008. Our work is underpinned by CSH’s Principles of Sustainable Clinical Practice: prevention; patient empowerment; lean care systems; low carbon alternatives.
CSH has a particular focus on:
- engaging those on the front line of patient care and promoting the concept of ‘sustainable clinical practice’

Artemis Studios Performing Arts Schools Limited is a Charity only Registered in March 2022, while our not-for-personal-profit organisation has been providing similar services in Bracknell since at least August 2014 and our roots go back locally to 2007. If you can think strategically and plan long-term, you have what our trustees primarily need; you’ll also need to work collectively with other Board members. Support from our paid employees is always available, under the leadership of our CEO, who works closely with the Board to develop and implement our strategic and operational plans.
We are a charity not a business, but we apply business principles to governing our organisation. We are looking for people from a variety of backgrounds to join our charity. The focus of a trustee role is strategic, and trustees will not be expected to get involved in the organisation’s operations on a day-to-day basis; however, contact and liaison with other trustees and employees is expected.

All Trustees are expected to make an active and dynamic contribution to the Board, the organisation and to supporting our work. Trustees have wide-ranging skills, knowledge, and experience appropriate to governance and strategy.
The overall role of the Treasurer is to maintain an overview of the Charity’s affairs, our strategic planning and to provide guidance to help ensure financial viability and support the requirements underpinning proper financial governance and procedures.
This key role will provide assurance to the Board that the financial resources of YMCA Humber meet its present and future needs, working with the CEO to ensure the Charity complies with relevant legislations, through efficient administration and best practice in good governance.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Strategic vision, and a solid understanding and acceptance of the legal responsibilities of Trusteeship.
- Financial or accountancy experience.
- Good independent judgment, and a high level of credibility within the community.
- Strong leadership skills and a commitment to the work of the Charity.
- Open and transparent approach.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
- Knowledge of Charity finance or housing association finance.
- Skills to analyse proposals and examine the financial consequences.

The Association for Palliative Medicine of Great Britain and Ireland (APM) is one of the world's largest representative bodies of medical/healthcare professionals practicing or interested in palliative care, with a growing membership of over 1,400. Most members are doctors, and supporting them is the core focus of the APM. APM members support patients with life threatening illnesses to live and die as well as possible. It is the APM's mission to promote, facilitate, advance and develop excellence for the benefit of every individual patient and those important to them. As part of a wider governance review, the APM is making some exciting changes to it's organisational structures. The current Board will become the APM Council with a focus on professional matters and the creation of a new Board of Trustees will oversee the administration of the APM as a professional membership body and hold elected Officers to account.
About the APM:
The APM is a registered charity, and so it has a Board of Trustees acting as its governing body. The Board of Trustees is responsible for agreeing the APM business plan and monitoring the progress of APM affairs. Trustees also act as the custodians of the APM, ensuring effective management and administration and are registered as APM Directors with Companies House.
About the Lay Trustee Role:
As a Lay Trustee, you will have the opportunity to work closely with fellow Trustees to shape the future of the APM. You will note that a medical background is not a pre-requisite of the role. As part of the Board of Trustees you will use your expertise in either a) financial management or b) equity, diversity and inclusion to ensure the APM is solvent, well-run, and delivering on its charitable objective.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Be willing to act as a Trustee of the organisation and accept ultimate responsibility for directing the affairs of a charity, and ensuring that it is solvent, well-run, and delivering the charitable outcomes for which it has been set up.
- Ensure that the Board operates within the APM's charitable objective, its governing document and provides clear strategic direction to the APM.
- Fulfil Trustee duties to ensure sound financial health of the charity, with systems in place to ensure financial accountability.
- Support the Chair of the Board of Trustees, President and Board Officers whilst respecting the boundaries of those roles.
Time commitment
The APM Board of Trustees will normally hold four meetings per year (likely to be a mixture of in-person and hybrid meetings). On average, it is estimated that the time commitment will equate to half a day per month, spread irregularly over a 12-month period. Trustees will serve a three-year term. Individual tenure may be extended by up to a maximum of a further three-year term to ensure orderly succession planning, subject to the agreement of the membership.
