OUTLINE OF THE ROLE

Work with the Trustees to devise and lead new fundraising initiatives that fulfil the objectives of the Trust's Fundraising Strategy and annual income budget, with particular focus on regular giving across all alumni, gifts from high-net-worth individuals, and legacies. This will involve:

• Developing and delivering improved communications to build a stronger connected donor network.

KEY TASKS

• Improve communications

The Trust has a strong, growing, and engaged network of loyal alumni who already support the Trust's beneficiaries through fundraising and volunteering. However, the Trust's communications need to be improved in order to increase the numbers of donors who provide sustained financial support and inspire all donors to raise their level of donations. Continually find opportunities to engage new donors and ensure clear consistent messaging.

• Manage and maintain donor data

The Trust needs to maintain a full and accurate database of all donors and fundraising activities to support long-term tracking and inform future fundraising. This also requires networking among alumni and being vigilant to changes in alumni data.

• Research and approach alumni whose connection with the Trust has lapsed

Continue to grow the active network through researching and motivating dormant and lapsed alumni to reconnect with the Trust.

• Research untapped prospects

Research the database with a view to identifying dormant and untapped opportunities, especially regarding

high-net-worth individuals and legacies. Ensure fundraising approaches are well-targeted and informed in order to maximise the chances of success. This will expand to include non-alumni sources, including institutional sources such as foundations and other trusts.

• Ensure long-term donor connection

Communicate with all donors to demonstrate the impact they can make by showcasing the current and long-term outcome of programs. Deliver a diverse selection of communications to engage different audiences, with a clear plan for all members of the network. Ensure donors are connected to the Trust, value the Trust's activities and actively help fund opportunities.

• Reporting to the Trustees

Create an annual donor impact report to the Trustees, and other stakeholders such as alumni, that delineates donor statistics, reviews communications and events that have taken place during the past year and identifies potential prospects and events for developing in the coming year. Also provide a lower-level oral report of fundraising activities and communications to the Trustees at their quarterly meetings.

• Deliver income growth target

Acquire enough new donations to meet agreed annual income growth targets set by the Trustees.

You will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the charity and its overall objectives. For instance, organizing fund-raising specific events in different regions. This position could evolve into a full-time commitment with a support team, but at the present time, support to this role will be provided through the existing network of volunteers.

The Pepys House Charity is seeking a dynamic and highly organised Project and Operations Manager to lead the delivery of a 12-month NLHF Resilience Project: “Samuel Pepys House: Home of an English Chronicler.” This is the first professional post at Pepys House — the only surviving property owned and occupied by the 17th century diarist Samuel Pepys. This is a unique opportunity to shape the strategic future of a rare Grade I listed heritage site and to help realise its vision as a resilient, inclusive, and sustainable heritage destination. 

As the Charity’s first professional staff member, you will be central to coordinating planning, activity delivery, community consultation, strategic governance, and future sustainability. This role is both operational and strategic, requiring initiative, diplomacy, and a deep commitment to inclusive heritage engagement. Are you passionate about music, inclusion and making a real difference?  The OHMI Trust is looking for someone to lead our Instrument Development programmes.  The heart of our mission is to make music truly inclusive for people with physical impairments and in this role you will be driving forward the development and delivery of adapted musical instruments.  It is creative, purposeful work and we are looking for someone who cares deeply about the impact that music can have.

Our team is looking for someone who lives and breathes our passion as much as we do and will put the work (and the miles) into bringing our mission to life. You will do this through:

• Developing a strategic approach in how we can increase the range of instruments and supportive apparatus available, working with instrument makers and technologists where necessary. 
• Identifying potential entrants for our OHMI Competition, which is where we challenge developers and instrument makers to adapt or create instruments that can be played without the use of one hand and arm.
• Supporting our OHMI Music-makers, a project that works with partner organisations to bring music lessons to individual students or a whole class by providing adapted instruments.
• Making sure we are communicating with our funders and Board of Trustees about our progress and impact.

And as a key member of the team, you will support us in promoting our great work at various key conferences and workshops.

No two days look the same here at the OHMI Trust, but a week could look like this:

· Arranging meetings with student groups working on instrument related engineering projects.

· Joining an online meeting to develop the strategy for overcoming a specific instrument production challenge.

· Writing an application for funding towards the next instrument/piece of equipment that is needed.

Hours: 18.75 per week, but flexible. Some weekend and evening work will be expected, as circumstances and opportunities require. This post is subject to a 6-month probation period.

Location: flexible within the UK – this is a home/remote working role but there will be travel throughout the UK and there is an advantage in being located within easy commuting distance of the West Midlands, where the rest of the staff are currently based.

Our client, an independent mission-driven charity, is seeking a Senior Operations and Governance Officer to provide essential support across corporate governance and organisational planning functions. This role is central to ensuring that leadership and strategic processes run efficiently, effectively, and in alignment with good governance practices.

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating the full cycle of Trustee and Committee meetings, including scheduling, agenda planning, and paper distribution
• Taking high-quality and accurate minutes and tracking actions to ensure follow-up
• Supporting governance and compliance processes, including maintaining the risk register and statutory records
• Contributing to the planning, monitoring, and reporting of strategic and project delivery across the organisation
• Supporting ad hoc projects and events, including staff conferences and trustee engagement activities
• Acting as a point of contact for trustee-related queries and supporting induction and development processes

 
We are looking for someone with:

• Significant experience supporting board and committee governance
• Proven ability to take and manage high-quality minutes and meeting outputs
• Experience working with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership and trustees
• Excellent organisation, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Strong communication skills and confidence using Microsoft Office and CRM tools (such as Salesforce)

Hours of work: 37.5 hours, full time. The role is contracted until 31 March 2026, due to government funding.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the promotion of Bikeability, the Government’s national cycle training programme, as a key member of the management team.

The Head of Marketing and Communications is responsible for the creation, development and delivery of marketing and communications activity with both internal and external audiences, including the Bikeability industry, schools, parents, the general public, media, and key stakeholders.

You will head up a team of talented communication experts, as part of the Strategy team, ensuring the delivery of all communications activity, including marketing campaigns, social media, press relations, industry engagement, and communications support to our public affairs strategy.

You will have excellent experience of delivering outstanding marketing and communications campaigns to increase brand awareness and drive service demand. You will have a collaborative approach and enjoy working as part of a team.  You will report to the Director of Strategy and be actively engaged in advising the executive team and trustees. 

Responsibilities:  

Lead the Promotions and Communications team to: 

• Develop and deliver The Bikeability Trust’s marketing, communications and media activities, including campaigns and project communications

• Manage relevant contracts with external agencies, including website management and graphic design

• Deliver the Bikeability social media programme to key audiences including parents, schools, internal Bikeability industry, and general public for wider awareness 

• Deliver communications support for Bikeability industry through a programme of regular communications 

• Work collaboratively with teams across the organisation to deliver effective project communication deliverables 

• Effectively manage team budget 

• Use media monitoring and brand tracking to evaluate impact and manage brand reputation

• Ensure evaluation and impact of communications work is collated and learning shared.

Enhance and improve strategic stakeholders’ engagement, including joint campaigns, cross-promotion and/or specific project activity to: 

• Ensure the Department for Transport and Active Travel England are fully engaged in any communications activity, working with them to amplify messaging 

• Work with cycling and active travel organisations on joint campaigns and promotions 

• Suport our Fundraising team to generate engagement and income from individual donors and corporate partners 

• Work with our agency partner to provide communications support to public affairs strategy 

• Ensure equality, diversity and inclusion are considered, and the Bikeability industry voice is at the centre, in all research projects and programmes. 

Provide communications leadership across The Bikeability Trust: 

• Champion and advocate the brand, supporting and motivating teams across the organisation to adopt our tone of voice and messaging 

• Track communications performance management and make recommendations for improvement 

• Deputise for the Director of Strategy in reporting to Board and attending Board meetings. 

Essential Skills and Experience 

• Minimum of 2 years leadership experience in communications, PR or marketing, including management of a small team.

• Experience of communications and marketing, including promotional campaigns 

• Experience of website management 

• Strong leadership and collaborative working style 

• Self-motivated with positive mindset 

• Excellent communication and analytical skills

Governance Officer

Hours: 21.5 hours a week

About Us

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Governance Officer to join our team and help ensure strong, effective governance across the organisation. This role is key to supporting the charity’s trustees and senior leadership team to meet their legal and regulatory responsibilities, and to uphold the highest standards of accountability and transparency.

Key Responsibilities

Board and Committee Support

• Coordinate meetings of the Board of Trustees and sub-committees, including scheduling, agenda planning, and circulation of papers.
• Take accurate and timely minutes and ensure appropriate follow-up actions are tracked and completed.
• Support trustee recruitment, induction, training, annual board effectiveness survey and skills review.
• Maintain trustees register of interests updating it annually or as and when needed, whichever is soonest.
• Monitor board members tenure periods and associated actions for re-appointment or termination.

Compliance and Regulation

• Ensure the charity complies with statutory and regulatory requirements (e.g. Charity Commission, Companies House, Office for the Scottish Charity Regulator, GDPR, Fundraising Regulator).
• Maintain accurate records including the statutory registers, governance documents, and trustee declarations.
• Write the statutory annual report sourcing content from relevant teams and updating all sections.
• Submit annual returns to the Charity Commission, Companies House and Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator.
• Support the COO in working towards and maintaining compliance with the Charity Governance code.

Governance Best Practice

• Draft new, review and update existing policies and procedures in line with current legislation and best practice ensuring they are on a rolling timetable for review.
• Monitor developments in charity law, governance codes, and relevant regulations, advising colleagues and trustees accordingly.
• Support risk management and contribute to the maintenance of the organisation’s risk register.
• Maintain the register of Leukaemia Care’s contracts with external suppliers and funders.

Organisational Support

• Work collaboratively across teams to ensure governance is embedded in the culture and operations of the charity.
• Support internal audits and the implementation of recommendations.
• Provide guidance on good governance practices across the charity.

General
