ABOUT THE ETHICAL PROPERTY FOUNDATION

The Ethical Property Foundation (“EPF”) is unique: the UK’s only dedicated property advice charity for the voluntary sector. (Registered Charity number 1101812 in England & Wales) Incorporated in 2003, we have supported thousands of voluntary organisations to manage their premises successfully whether rented or owned. Since 2015, we have been the lead referral partner to the Charity Commission for land & property advice and preferred supplier to the Lloyds Bank Foundation. 

Our mission is to equip voluntary organisations with the knowledge and confidence to make the most of the property they occupy and manage, for the benefit of their services and beneficiaries, without crises or compliance failures.

We are a small, dynamic, and enterprising not-for-profit. Our services comprise  free, independent property guidance and support; affordable consultancy; plus online property education. Our combined expertise and unique perspective mean we are much in demand from policymakers, and sector thought leaders. Funding comes from philanthropic donations, grants, corporate partnerships and earned income from affordable consultancy.  In 2023, we launched the voluntary sector’s first interactive online Weston Property Manual for which we were finalists in two major voluntary sector awards. In 2024 we celebrated the 21st Anniversary of our incorporation.

We employ four part-time employees: the CEO, Head of Property Services, Operations Manager, and Administrator - 2.45FTE, supported by a further nine self-employed Associates and Volunteers of whom eight are chartered surveyors. In addition, we run an expert Register of fifteen property professionals, primarily commercial property solicitors, who provide advice on a pro-bono and discounted fee basis. 

 JOB DESCRIPTION

The Head of Property Advisory is the lead member of the Property Advice Team comprising Associate Property Advisors. The team is supported by The Foundation’s Register of Property Professionals. The Property Advice Team provides advice, consultancy and educational services. This service is delivered by providing on-line information, free helpdesk guidance, training events and consultancy projects to assist organisations in making informed property decisions. The Head of Property Services will have the following key areas of activity and responsibility:

1. Developing the Affordable Consultancy  

The Head of Property Services leads on all aspects of building our affordable consultancy and delivers sales income in line with agreed targets. This will include:  

· Identifying potential clients and proactively seeking opportunities to bid for work.

· Responding to enquiries from potential clients, conducting initial meetings to ascertain support required and putting together carefully priced proposals tailored to client needs.

· Developing and maintaining relationships with key partners, including Lloyds Bank Foundation.

· Tracking of enquiries and work in progress with support from the Operations Manager; ensuring accurate records are maintained and providing information and reports to the CEO and Trustees for invoicing and fundraising purposes.

·  Developing new products for the charity sector, making the EPF relevant and providing new and growing income streams.

· Ensuring EPF communication channels appropriately promote our services.

2. Management of Property Advice Team 

The Head of Property Services directly line-manages the Associates in delivery of the Affordable Consultancy:  

·  Developing and maintaining appropriate processes and templates for development and delivery of work.  Disseminating as necessary and ensuring processes followed by team members.

·  Oversight of all support, advice and training provided by the team to ensure consistent high levels of content quality and customer care are maintained.

· Oversight of the free Property Advice Service, co-ordinating with the Property Advisors running the service and responding to enquires who may require affordable consultancy services.

· Ensuring consultancy projects are allocated to team members with appropriate knowledge, experiences and availability. 

· Developing excellent working relationships with members of our Register of Property Professionals to introduce charities for effective support. 

· Delivering excellent customer care by coordinating the Foundation’s support to charities until their project is resolved.

· Supporting the team to ensure property materials for training and online guidance are accurate and appropriate.

3. Additional duties may include:  

· Representing the Foundation and presenting at external events.

· Working proactively to ensure that the Property Advice Team remains up to date with property and charity sector knowledge.

· Develop a broad knowledge of complementary organisations and services that can provide support to enquirers to the Property Advice Service, or opportunities for partnership working or collaboration with the Foundation.

· The Foundation requires all employees to work with due regard for the Foundation’s ethos and policies including health and safety, equality and the environment.  All our team must have DBS clearance.

About Cosmic
Cosmic is a small but mighty children’s charity dedicated to supporting the incredible work of the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, and Queen Charlotte’s Hospital, Hammersmith. The Role
This role will take day-to-day ownership of key operational processes across Cosmic’s NICU and PICU support, ensuring smooth delivery, strong relationships across hospital teams, and the continual improvement of internal systems.

The Operations Executive plays a central role in keeping Cosmic running smoothly across both hospital sites and Cosmic HQ. This is a hands-on and varied position, combining operational coordination, ownership of key processes, and direct support to Cosmic’s Senior Leadership Team. This role will be pivotal in connecting Cosmic with the families we support and our NHS units across both hospital sites, by supporting our service delivery and fostering continuous engagement.
You will be responsible for maintaining high operational standards across our service delivery programmes, ensuring our units are well-stocked and supported, coordinating fulfilment activities, improving our internal systems, and helping strengthen Cosmic’s visibility within the hospitals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Coordination Across PICU and NICU
• Act as a consistent and trusted operational contact for unit staff across St Mary’s and Queen Charlotte’s.
• Enhance Cosmic’s visibility in the units, ensuring noticeboards, communications and information materials are up to date and on brand.
• Lead end-to-end coordination of operational tasks across both sites, ensuring high standards and reliable follow-through.

2. Nutri-Care Campaign  
• Coordinate Nutri-Care food deliveries to Cosmic HQ and our units.
• Distribute food items to NICU and PICU units at St. Mary’s Hospital and NICU at Queen Charlotte’s.
• Oversee stock storage at St Mary’s, Cosmic House, and Queen Charlotte’s, maintaining clear logs and ensuring resources never run low.
• Review family and staff feedback from the Nutri-Care surveys and share themes with the Service Delivery Manager to support service improvement.

3. NICU Welcome Bags & Corporate Volunteering
• Take ownership of stock levels for NICU Welcome Bags across both units, ensuring they are always ready for families.
• Work with NICU teams to develop practical solutions that ensure every family receives a Welcome Bag within 24 hours of arrival on the units, monitoring consistency and resolving any barriers.
• Prepare materials and coordinate logistics for corporate volunteer packing sessions, acting as the Cosmic lead on the day.

4. Stock & Supplies Management 
• Maintain regular routines to check, restock and record Cosmic items on PICU and NICU units.
• Oversee stock of cereals, tea, coffee and other essential items that support families and staff.
• Maintain accurate inventory logs and recommend improvements to stock processes.

5. Office & Systems Management
• Manage routine supplier relationships and monitor service standards.
• Process and code invoices for approval and support compliance tasks such as health and safety checks, first aid and fire safety.
• Maintain organised shared drives and digital filing systems, ensuring they are up to date and easy to navigate.
• Ensure all Cosmic office equipment is functional and well-maintained.
• Coordinating diary bookings and logistics for meetings, events, and training.
• Overseeing health and safety compliance (first aid, fire safety checks).
• Support onboarding and leaver processes for new staff and volunteers.
• Manage Cosmic’s relationship with the NHS Post Room, overseeing all incoming and outgoing mail.
• Coordinate logistics for meetings, events and staff activities, ensuring information flows efficiently.

6. Support to the Senior Leadership Team
• Provide high-quality executive support including diary management, meeting coordination and travel arrangements.
• Prepare briefing and meeting notes, collate information for internal or trustee papers, and support follow-up on key actions.
• Undertake small operational projects or research tasks with minimal supervision.

7. Continuous Improvement
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, stock processes and internal systems across the charity.
• Recommend changes to the CEO, COO and support implementation.
• Champion consistency and high standards across Cosmic’s operations.

The Finance and Administrative Assistant will provide essential support across three main areas: finances, events and training. Essential Experience & Skills

 At F&W and Burnage Foodbanks we share a vision of a future where there is no need for people to attend foodbanks. We are working towards this ambition and are continually looking at ways to assist our foodbank users to achieve this. Meanwhile, until we reach our objective, there is still a need for emergency food assistance across our communities. This is an exciting opportunity to proactively lead and grow fundraising across both F&W and Burnage Foodbank, to help us continue to meet the emergency food needs of those most impoverished in our communities.

● Through this new organisational role, you will proactively create and grow fundraising income opportunities with individuals, community groups, local businesses and grant giving trusts and foundations. You will be at the heart of our local community, bringing our cause to life and building lasting donor relationships.

● Through your fundraising expertise, you will have a proven track record of building relationships with individuals, community groups, local businesses, trusts and foundations and other donors to achieve and exceed annual income targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). You will have the capacity to create and deliver compelling fundraising activities, communications, proposals and appeals that successfully engage and attract donations from new and existing supporters.

● This role will be employed and managed by F&W Foodbank, but it will equally support fundraising income growth across both F&W Foodbank and Burnage Foodbank.

● This role will be remote but there will be an expectation that the successful candidate will meet regularly in person with both foodbanks as well as local partners and stakeholders. Some evening and weekend working may be required to fulfil the role e.g. promotion of the Foodbank, community events.

Key Responsibilities:

● Through excellent, comprehensive and considered research, you will identify and prioritise a pool of potential local Trusts and Foundations funders. Working with colleagues, you will develop authentic, compelling, creative and winning funding bids that can successfully engage new and existing Trusts and Foundations funders.  

● Through the creation and delivery of engaging and compelling fundraising activities, appeals and communications, you will grow our income and pool of individual supporters making one off or monthly donations. You will explore and implement ways of promoting our Foodbanks across the community to successfully attract an ever-greater number of individual donors.

● You will engage with local community groups, associations, events, schools and businesses to grow our fundraising reach and income.

● You will develop, establish and manage a fundraising portfolio capable of generating in excess of £150k per annum. This will include establishing and leading supporter relationships and, where appropriate, to support other senior stakeholders in leading such relationships.

● You will establish a fundraising pipeline for both F&W Foodbank and Burnage Foodbank, incorporating a range of KPI’s that can be tracked and that will enable you to make informed projections regarding future income.

● You will review and finalise the KPIs to be set by the managers of F&W Foodbank and Burnage Foodbank.

● Every fortnight you will meet to report on progress on an operational level, and  every quarter you will meet with representatives of both trustee boards to review progress against the fundraising project objectives outputs and KPIs. These may be in the evenings to accommodate trustee availability. Every 6 months you will input to a report for the Trussell Trust network.

● You will forge strong relationships with colleagues across the wider Trussell Trust network, sharing best practice and learning from other charities across the network. You will proactively take advantage of any fundraising training and skills development opportunities and engage with any joint fundraising opportunities.

Skills

● You will have proven and substantial fundraising experience, covering at least two of these areas: trusts fundraising, fundraising with local businesses, fundraising with individuals and community groups. 

● With excellent written and verbal communication and relationship management skills, you will inspire and motivate existing and prospective supporters, providing excellent stewardship and crafting compelling and winning funding proposals and appeals.

● You will have experience of setting, managing and reporting against fundraising KPI’s.

· Be directly responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient day-to-day functioning of the centre including the management of the Brazelton Centre UK premises and IT, where applicable.

· Understand the legal and reporting obligations of the Brazelton Centre UK as a registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and be responsible for ensuring the Centre meets these obligations including for example filing of annual accounts.

· Work with the Board of Trustees, Director, fundraising colleagues and partner organisations to increase voluntary income to the Centre to fund and trial innovative new services and research opportunities in line with our strategy

Support the planning and further development of the Brazelton Centre UK, working to continually extend the reach of our existing NBO and NBAS courses.

 General

• Produce accurate and timely, monthly management accounts including detailed insightful commentary and ad hoc financial reporting and analysis as required

• Work with the Head of Finance to produce long-term financial analysis to inform strategy

Are you a strategic leader with a passion for driving organisational impact? We're looking for an experienced professional to join us as Head of Strategy Implementation (Interim). This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering our current Strategy and Theory of Change, ensuring momentum and alignment across the charity.

This role is fixed term until September 2026, working 29 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to attend meetings at least once a week as needed in central London and to attend meetings in other locations across the UK with reasonable notice.

Interviews will be held either in person in central London or virtually on Monday 22nd December. We appreciate this is a busy time of year and not all candidates will be able to travel. There may be a second, in person, interview in the New Year as part of the process.

What you'll do:

· Lead the implementation of our Strategy and Theory of Change, embedding cross-departmental collaboration through Thematic Oversight Groups.

· Oversee progress on strategic priorities, on behalf of the Chief Executive.

· Undertake engagement in preparation for a limited review and refresh of the Theory of Change which is due to take place in Q3-Q4 2026-2027.

· Provide senior leadership oversight of our Policy & Public Affairs function and support integrated working across the Strategy & External Affairs Department.

· Prepare reports for the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Trustees.

· Oversee data-led quarterly reporting via a dashboard, driving quality assurance and continual improvement.

What we're looking for:

· A seasoned leader with at least 10 years' professional experience, including 5+ years working in a leadership role at a large organisation, working closely with the Chief Executive.

· At least 5 years' experience working on strategy implementation.

· Expertise in policy/public affairs.

· Experience of matrix programme management.

· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to influence at all levels.

· Strategic thinker with creativity, adaptability, and a collaborative approach.

This is an exciting opportunity to take an active role in supporting the implementation of our fundraising strategy at Groundwork UK.

The Fundraising Assistant will play a key role in supporting Groundwork’s fundraising efforts and helping us achieve income goals. They will assist the fundraising team in developing relationships with supporters and donors and help secure unrestricted voluntary income.

Primary responsibilities will include processing and thanking donations, maintaining database records, building relationships with donors and fundraisers, and generating digital communications, alongside other administrative tasks.

This is an exciting time to be joining Groundwork, as we expand our fundraising team and continue to develop our strategy. As a growing team with varying responsibilities, focus and targets will change from time to time, so a flexible working attitude is required.

It is a great role for someone who has experience in a fundraising environment or has admin experience elsewhere and is looking to break into the sector. Groundwork is in the process of implementing Raiser’s Edge, so experience of using this or a similar CRM system would be valuable.
