We have been founder-led since 1996 and now, with CEO Carolyn Hassan’s retirement in March 2024, we are entering a new chapter; one that will both celebrate KWMC’s legacy of community led change-making and evolve to embrace new possibilities.
We are looking for a co-leader who works with generosity and care to make amazing things happen. We hope to welcome someone who brings extensive experience of developing innovative financial, business and operational models for mission and values-led organisations. You will work alongside Creative Co-Director, Martha King, to co-lead KWMC through a process of refocusing and on into the future.

Our Reach
Currently the work is predominantly in Leicestershire, providing a work experience and careers guidance service to schools and colleges. We also operate in Rutland, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire, offering STEM Ambassadors the opportunity to link with schools and colleges to inform young people of STEM careers and the importance of STEM to the economy. Main responsibilities include:

The Gatehouse offers a free café (six evenings a week), therapeutic workshops, and a bespoke one-to-one support service (over two evenings and one afternoon a week). The project also delivers an outreach service, an independent counselling service, and supports the Lived Experience Advisory Forum (LEAF). The Holocaust Educational Trust’s mission is to ensure that people from every background are educated about the Holocaust and the important lessons to be learned for today.
They are seeking an experienced, strategic accounting professional to work with the Treasurer, Chief Executive and Managing Director, to devise and implement the Trust’s finance strategy, to ensure they have the resources they need to deliver their charitable objectives. The Finance Director will be responsible for ensuring an effective finance function; leading on the financial management of the Trust; overseeing financial compliance and governance; and the development and oversight of our Financial Strategy.

HET work to make sure that the millions who were murdered in this dark period of history are remembered, and honour those who survived and continue to tell the world of their experiences. Since 1988, the Holocaust Educational Trust has worked with schools, universities and communities around the UK to raise awareness and understanding of the Holocaust.
Through their flagship programme, the Lessons from Auschwitz Project, tens of thousands of young people have had the opportunity to see for themselves the site of the former Nazi concentration and death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau. They return inspired and passionate about ensuring that the legacy of the Holocaust continues for generations to come.
The key duties of the Director of Finance are as follows:
- Support the CEO and Senior Leadership Team in developing HET's organisational strategy and plans, ensuring they are financially sustainable.
- Play a key role in the senior management team and attend and present at various Committee and Board meetings.
- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial data and supporting narrative including strategic plans, budgets, management accounts, and live forecasts, updated monthly or as required.
- Support in the creation of, and challenging on, departmental budgets; presenting budget to Board and budget holders.
- Lead on the financial side of grant and contract reporting and applications.
- Work with the wider team to ensure procurement procedures are getting value for money and contracts are financially sound.
- Maintaining a high standard of strict internal controls.

- Effectively line manage the Finance Manager and support their, and the wider Finance team’s, development.
- Support the Finance team in the implementation and use of the new Finance System.
The successful candidate will have:
- A recognised accounting qualification.
- Significant strategic and business planning experience, scenario planning and investment management.
- Expert knowledge of financial control procedures, SORP and charity accounting.
- Experience of presenting complex financial information to Trustees and Board of Management as well as to non-finance managers.
- Proven leadership skills and management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including sound report writing and presentation skills.

The Consortium for Street Children (CSC) is the only global organisation dedicated solely to achieving positive change for street children worldwide, working with 200+ members in 111 countries. With 30 years’ experience and a global network, CSC has unparalleled knowledge and expertise on street children, their lives, and the solutions to the problems they face. Together with its members and partners, CSC advocates for the rights of street children from the streets to the corridors of power. It works to transform children’s lives on the streets through strengthening street social work practice, while also working with States and communities so that they meet their legal obligations to street-connected children as set out in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and the authoritative guidance provided in the CRC General Comment 21.
CSC is dedicated to ensuring that global policy commitments are translated into local action, leading to sustainable positive change for children in street situations. CSC is regarded as an expert in the sector and is judged to ‘punch above its weight’ relative to its size.
Purpose of role
CSC is seeking to recruit a new CEO who will lead, empower, and mobilise the organisation and its support to its network members, whilst securing sustainable funding and investment so CSC can deliver its mission. The CEO will be supported by a passionate and talented team of staff, an experienced Senior Management Team, and a fully supportive, engaged, and inspired Board of Trustees.
Primary responsibilities
The job holder will have the following key responsibilities:
Strategic planning and priority setting
· Provide leadership and guidance in the delivery of CSC’s 2024-2029 Strategy, defining priorities to secure sustainable funding and implement the organisation’s goals.
Resource mobilisation and sustainability
- As ‘chief fundraiser’ for the organisation, take the lead in strengthening the organisation’s fundraising strategy and income generation. Be actively involved in working with the staff team to bring in new income (restricted and unrestricted) by conceptualising the presentation of programme, advocacy, policy, and research work and developing customised approaches to donors. Ensure sustainable and diverse sources of income in the face of the current challenging fundraising environment.
- Work with our Development Board and other Trustees to engage with philanthropic and corporate foundations and high net worth individuals globally, attracting new donors and continuing to grow the organisation’s partnership base and international networks.
- Develop and maintain strong positive relationships with donors (United Nations agencies, foundations, multi-laterals, bi-laterals, corporate sector, and individuals) and partners to cultivate support for CSC through appropriate presence and communication.
Building CSC’s profile
- Protect and further strengthen CSC’s external brand, profile, and credibility as a thought leader in the field of child rights and child protection in relation to street connected children.
- Act as a champion and advocate for the organisation by representing the work of CSC and its positions at the highest levels externally and across the political spectrum and globally, including with the United Nations entities and agencies, regional bodies, national governments, and partners.
- Act as CSC’s key spokesperson publicly by writing, speaking and social media posting on issues related to the rights of street connected children.
- Support the ongoing development and implementation of a communication strategy to raise the profile of CSC as the global major leader on issues related to street connected children.

The Role:
The Chief Officer will lead and manage Citizens Advice St Helens (CASH) while developing and implementing strategic and operational plans. Responsible for delivering strategic development through the effective management and development of services, the Chief Officer will build strong and sustainable relationships with key stakeholders at a strategic, national, regional, and local level.
They will work collaboratively with the staff team and board to ensure there is an inclusive, rights-based approach to work that also conforms with the requirements of the Charity Commission, Companies House and HMRC.
