Joe’s Buddy Line is seeking a new organisational leader; a hands-on Chief Officer who can build on the great work already undertaken by our Trustees to deliver high impact mental health support services to schools and Universities; currently in London and the South East, but with ambitions to grow across England and Wales.

Joe Lyons was a caring son, brother, a wonderful friend and a talented, award-winning Radio Producer. Known as “Producer Joe”, he became Senior Producer of the Roman Kemp Breakfast Show at Capital Radio. Very sadly in August 2020 Joe passed away in totally unexpected circumstances at just 31 years of age.

During Joe’s life he brought a cheeky spirit and constant laughter to all those that met him. His selflessness and commitment to helping others touched so many, and in loving memory and as a legacy to Joe, his friends and family set up Joe's Buddy Line in January 2021.

We are now looking for a resilient, driven and inspirational individual to provide energy, strategic vision and operational management for our small and growing charity.

The successful candidate will bring a track record of effectively overseeing the day to day service delivery for a small charity, prudent financial management and an innovative approach to source and secure new opportunities for the Charity.

It is essential that the post holder must also be able to help us transition from a predominantly volunteer led charity to a vibrant fully sustainable organisation with salaried staff.

Head of Fundraising & Communications

EDUCATION FOR ALL MOROCCO transforms the lives of marginalised girls, in the High Atlas mountains, enabling them to fulfil their potential, reducing social injustice and inequalities, improving the quality of life for women, and their communities.

Prior to the Al Haouz earthquake in September 2023 EFA funded six boarding houses, enabling young women to access senior school education. Five boarding houses were destroyed. Astonishingly, no girls or staff were in them at the time.

We are unashamedly ambitious to build on EFAs transformational work over the last two decades. Our Covid Recovery Strategy focussed on widening our impact, and the earthquake has just made us even more determined to deliver on our promise, because we have never been more relevant.

Due to the extraordinary generosity of donors, we have funding in place to support a major rebuilding programme. However we don't want to simply rebuild. Due to covid and the earthquake there is a lot of catching up to do.

As Head of Fundraising & Communications you will work with the trustees to deliver the strategic vision, by developing and implementing a  successful fundraising and communications strategy.  A new website is under construction and the successful applicant will play a leading role in determining its fundraising functionality, content, and messaging.

In a typical month you’ll:

-Plan, execute, fundraising events and campaigns, attend conferences, develop compelling social media stories. 

-Undertake research, identify new funding opportunities, write donor proposals, complete donor grant applications.

-Liaise with Moroccan partners, co-ordinate marketing, and fundraising activities.

-Work with donors, developing a range of benefits, events, and engagement opportunities.

-Working with trustees, prepare a monthly update report.

-Manage administrative and compliance tasks including a budget, logging donor communications into the database etc. 

-Evaluate the impact and update policies and procedures.

Location:  remote, withoccasional meetings in London. An annual strategy weekend in Marrakech in November. 

Hours: 35 hrs per week (compressed).

Salary: £40,000 £42,000 per annum.

This is a varied and integral role providing administrative support to Arthritis Action’s Finance, Executive Management, Services Teams and Trustees, working under the supervision of the Operations Manager.  

Your role will provide day to day operational assistance in our London office including: meeting and diary management, writing minutes and providing admin support across the Charity. Liaison with the landlord and office suppliers, assist with finance including processing direct debits, staff credit cards and supplier invoices and compiling monthly reports. You will also be the first port of call for incoming calls and manage incoming/outgoing post and IT administration.

• Providing admin support to the Finance, Executive Management and Services Teams

• Support CEO with scheduling meetings, database entries and diary management

Purpose of the job:To work within our busy and diverse community organisation to lead and be a first point of contact with office administration, organisation and communication through performing and updating administrative duties.

What you would do:

Oversight and day to day management of the overall business administration, including:

• Keeping well-organised files and records of business activity including HR and H&S
• Researching company data and archived reports
• Keeping computer databases up to date - Salesforce 
• Interacting with stakeholders either on the phone or in person
• Providing office support including stakeholder and employee support
• Following up on business communications, billing, and ordering
• Learning about the company's mission and available products/services
• Educating clients about what products/services are available and how to engage in them
• Building relationships with all stakeholders
• Preparing documents by uploading, printing, copying, and binding
• Writing and editing company correspondence
• Assisting with minor technical support
• Acting as a personal assistant to the Director and Board of Trustees
• Scheduling appointments and events
• Giving feedback on office efficiency and suggesting possible improvement

The ideal candidate will have a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check, experience of working within a business administration role, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, office management skills, filing, book-keeping, time management, organisation, communication, scheduling, typing, uploading, problem solving, order management, billing, multi-tasking, reporting, researching, ordering, attention to detail, invoicing, interpersonal and personal assisting skills.

An interesting and varied support role. The successful candidate will have excellent administrative skills, and be highly organised, with excellent time management skills and the ability to juggle a variety of tasks. 

The key duties and responsibilities are:

• Providing administrative support to the management team
• Ensuring information from contractors is uptodate
• Providing information to supporters about HCCN’s programmes and services 
• Updating HCCN’s Mailchimp database
• Processing new user applications and managing individual treatment waitlists
• Updating master documents 
• Filing using Google cloud based storage 
• Monitoring HCCN’s generic email accounts and responding appropriately
• Arranging Trustee and operational meetings
• Preparing agendas and papers for Trustee/operational meetings
• Taking minutes of Trustee/operational meetings

The role is hybrid. The nature of this role will require flexibility to meet work needs as they arise. The successful applicant will be required to work at our Bradbury House location when we hold operational meetings. The address is Mayfield Road, Huntingdon, PE29 1UL.  The time commitment is 10 hours per week at the rate of £20 per hour, working from home and virtually with travel across Huntingdonshire.
