Climate and nature are urgent, motivating issues, so we attract great volunteers. We want to fulfil our potential by making sure we get the best out of our fantastic people and all the future ones we attract by keeping them happy and active. That is the role.
What will you be doing?
EcoCounts is a group of volunteers working together to embody EcoCore’s approach to the climate crisis. EcoCore covers a lot of ground because the climate and biodiversity crisis is so all-encompassing, which means we have a lot of varied and different volunteer tasks available, ranging from carbon footprint data collection, setting up sub-teams of friends or colleagues or doing social media or running workshops.
Your responsibilities would be to create volunteer tasks from our work streams, which would include things like:
-
creating a role description for each volunteer task to give a good outline of everything required and expected
-
keeping track of what volunteers are active on
-
encouraging and inspiring volunteers to deliver on commitments
-
creating an incentives or rewards framework for volunteers, potentially working with supporting businesses to agree on gift vouchers, tokens etc
-
managing a small budget
-
building up a social network with events, collaborations and other inputs
-
using our social media accounts to advertise, to celebrate achievements etc
-
help other directors, trustees & secretary keep reporting, stats, and feedback on activities up-to-date
Goals
-
Our 2025 target is 100 people doing their carbon footprints
-
We’re looking for 20 coordinators
-
We have about a dozen volunteering roles to fill beyond the two above
What are we looking for?
-
You should be a people-person with experience of managing people. You should be happy to put in the time and effort communicating with the volunteers both all-together and individually in a way that gets the best results from them.
-
Personal change is only one of the five ways that we can change society - we don't focus on personal change alone, we want to change our community, our local businesses and our local government.
-
You should check out our manifesto on the About page to make sure you agree with the ways we advocate for the way forward in the climate crisis – are you happy what we suggest is one of the best approaches?
What difference will you make?
Society has got itself into a dangerous situation with the climate crisis and EcoCounts aims to create a way out. We need all sorts of different people, not just climate nerds and sustainability fanatics, although of course that doesn't hurt. The person we need right now is someone who knows what people need to keep them happy and effective as a volunteer for us.
Being a volunteer-based organisation at this stage still, that might make the volunteer chief of staff the most important person we have. Of course we all consider each other equal. Being small and dynamic means EcoCounts can offer the flexibility for you to do an excellent and fulfilling job.
Rewards
Once you have found your feet, we can offer references, recommendations or certifications on any of the public platforms that we use, like Linkedin and Reach Volunteer. We are also building a social network and plans for regular events, so we hope you will also find our group socially rewarding.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.

This includes defining our brand colours, typography, imagery style (including photography and illustration direction), logo usage, and overall design principles to ensure a cohesive, youthful and impactful look.
-
Designing Core Communication Materials: Creating templates and initial designs for:
-
Social media posts: Engaging graphics for Instagram.
-
Information booklets: Designing layouts for programme information, volunteer guides, or impact reports.
-
Presentation templates: Creating professional and appealing templates for pitches to funders and partners.
-
-
Ensuring Brand Consistency: Helping to apply the new brand identity across all our communications, ensuring everything we produce feels distinctly REMIX.
-
Visual Storytelling: Translating REMIX's mission and impact into compelling visual narratives that resonate with our audiences.
WHAT WE OFFER:
-
The unique chance to define the visual brand of a brand-new charity, directly shaping how we are perceived by thousands.
-
An incredible opportunity to apply your design expertise to a profound social cause, seeing your work directly attract young people, inspire volunteers, and secure vital support.
-
High levels of creative input and ownership in a dynamic start-up environment.
-
Collaboration with a passionate and strategic Board of Trustees and the founding team.
-
The deep satisfaction of knowing your designs will help "remix young lives" and build a brighter future for London.
This is a voluntary role to help us establish our core brand identity and initial materials. We are flexible and can work around your availability, including the hours you can support us with. We're also ok if you're only able to support us with only one of these items.
READY TO DESIGN A BRIGHTER FUTURE WITH REMIX?
If you are a talented and passionate graphic designer eager to leave your creative mark on a transformative cause, we'd love to hear from you.
Help us design the visual identity that will inspire and empower us to "remix young lives" across London!

Here at Youth4Youth, we have grown a strong, tight-knit community of individuals who are passionate about making a difference and improving the lives of young people across the UK. Our growing team of volunteers all contribute, significantly, to the impact that we have as a charity on our direct beneficiaries, regardless of the department that they work in of the level of time that they are able to commit. Our services primarily offer a peer-support network to young people right across the UK, allowing them to access a peer mentor who is of a similar age to them and somebody that they feel more comfortable speaking with.
If successful, you will be joining a growing team of diverse, but likeminded individuals, collaborating to increase the reach of the Charity and improve support provisions available to young people. All of our volunteers and employees are remote workers, but that doesn't stop us keeping in touch and maintaining a strong positive culture amongst our whole team.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Executive Leadership Team here at Youth4Youth to drive positive change in all things volunteer engagement. As an entirely volunteer run organisation, positive engagement with volunteers is absolutely fundamental in allowing Youth4Youth to achieve its mission. It is so fundamental that one of our overarching strategic goals is to ensure that all volunteers have a positive and meaningful volunteering experience when working with us. The Volunteer Experience Director will play a critical role in setting strategy and executing solutions to improve the overall volunteer experience.
Responsibilities
Short term objectives:
- Define the volunteering proposition for the Charity, helping new and existing volunteers to understand the impact of working with Youth4Youth
- Manage a project to understand gaps in volunteer engagement and experience, generating recommendations back to the ELT
- Develop a volunteer experience strategy that improves engagement and the overall volunteering experience of all involved with Youth4Youth
Overall objectives and responsibilities:
- Lead a team of volunteers who are involved in supporting a positive volunteering experience with the charity
- Develop and execute a volunteer experience strategy that seeks to attract, engage and retain high-quality volunteers into all teams across the charity
- Partner effectively with the broader charity leadership team to understand engagement challenges and implement solutions to close engagement gaps
- Report to the CEO and the Board of Trustees on any strategic progress made around improving volunteer engagement
Skills
- Ability to manage complex projects, including the direct and indirect management and coordination of people resources
- Ability to understand complex problems and articulate solutions in a clear, concise and understandable manner
- Demonstrable blue-sky thinking that encourages the implementation of new solutions that may not have been considered before
- Ability to influence both with and without authority to drive positive and meaningful change at all levels and across all departments
Our mission is to continue to grow towards becoming one of the best charities in the UK. Our aim is to do this by building a diverse team, rich with different backgrounds and perspectives. Therefore, even if you feel you only are a 75% match, we would still love to hear from you. Skills can be learned, but diversity cannot.
Benefits of volunteering with Youth4Youth
We recognise that you will be joining us and giving your time as an 'in-kind' donation, but there must be benefits for you too. When joining our team, you will be open to the following benefits:
- Professional and personal development opportunities in a variety of skill areas through volunteering in real roles. This may be general development or tailored to your specific needs or ambitions
- Becoming a member of a strong network of likeminded individuals, spread across the UK, who you can connect with and collaborate with both within and outside of the Charity
- Access to bespoke discounts, specifically designed for non-profit workers and Youth4Youth volunteers
- Opportunities to truly shape the future of the Charity, having a direct influence over the impact that Youth4Youth has on its direct beneficiaries

About It’s Time:
It’s Time is a charity created by and for young adults who have experienced the death of a parent. Founded by people who know this grief first-hand, the charity ensures no one aged 18–35 has to navigate such loss alone. Through peer-led support, events, free group therapy, and tailored resources, It’s Time offers connection and understanding during an often isolating time. The charity also partners with universities, workplaces, and families to promote better bereavement support - recognising that grief doesn’t follow a timeline, and the help offered to young adults shouldn’t either.
The charity was founded in 2021 and we now run local peer support groups throughout England, have a year long waiting list for our group therapy and supports around 500 people in the online community. We recognise that as we grow our needs and those of our community are changing and are looking for someone skilled in charity growth to steer us into the next phase of our development.
