You will lead a high-performing Legacy Marketing team to design and deliver intelligent, insight led supporter journeys that feel personal even at scale. This role is offered on a permanent basis, on a full/part time or flexible basis. The salary is £29,000–£40,000, depending on experience. The role is hybrid, with staff attending the Woking office on Mondays and working remotely on other days (with occasional evening/weekend commitments for events, with time off in lieu).

As Fund Development Manager, you will play a key role in growing philanthropy and supporting communities across Surrey. Working closely with donors, fund holders and partners, you will develop and manage a portfolio of funds, helping donors maximise their impact while building long-term relationships that support sustainable growth. You will lead on developing new opportunities with corporates, trusts and foundations, and professional advisers, while acting as an ambassador for the organisation. Alongside income generation, you will work closely with colleagues across the organisation to connect donors with local causes and ensure funding delivers meaningful impact across Surrey's voluntary and community sector.

The organisation are looking for an experienced relationship-builder with a strong track record in income generation, donor stewardship and partnership development. You will have experience working with corporates, trusts and foundations, donors or other high-value stakeholders, alongside the ability to develop fundraising strategies, manage competing priorities and build lasting relationships. Line management experience is essential, as is the confidence to engage a wide range of audiences and represent the Foundation externally. Most importantly, you will be passionate about supporting local communities and motivated by the opportunity to help grow giving and create lasting social impact across Surrey.

We are currently looking for a Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships to join our Fundraising & Supporter Experience Team.

Job Title: Development Officer

Reports to: Senior Development Manager

Location: Contracted to Breaking Barrier’ office in London, Birmingham or Manchester, with some expectation of travel 

Terms: 5 days per week (37.5 hours) but open to part-time (minimum 30 hours) and flexible working arrangements

Contract: Permanent

Salary:   £28,000 - £33,500 (Depending on the location and experience)

Purpose of the Role

The fundraising team at Breaking Barriers generates income from a range of sources: trusts and foundations, statutory and lottery, corporate and major donors. We sit within the wider Income and Engagement Directorate, alongside communications and public fundraising, and work closely together to drive income and engagement from funders, partners and supporters who share our vision that every refugee can access meaningful employment and build a new life. 

The Development Officer manages our portfolio of small trusts and foundations (grants up to £10,000), securing income and developing relationships from existing donors and new prospects. The role involves writing compelling funding proposals, delivering effective stewardship, and meeting all reporting requirements to a high standard.

Alongside portfolio management, the post-holder co-ordinates our fundraising events programme, ensuring both online and in-person events deepen engagement with our cause. The role also provides active support across fundraising appeals and the statutory, lottery and major donor income streams, including prospect research. The post-holder will also contribute to the operational efficiency of the fundraising team through effective administration.

This is a varied, fast-paced role that will suit someone with strong writing skills, attention to detail and a genuine commitment to our mission. It offers real scope to develop knowledge and skills across a wide range of fundraising disciplines within a supportive and ambitious team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Income generation (60%)

· Manage and develop a portfolio of trusts and foundations awarding grants of up to £10,000, delivering tailored stewardship and relationship management across both warm relationships and cold prospects.

· Plan, write and submit compelling funding applications based on a clear understanding of Breaking Barriers' programmes, funding needs and funder requirements.

· Manage all reporting requirements within your portfolio, ensuring reports are completed accurately and to deadline.

· Undertake research to identify new prospects, gathering relevant background information including funding interests, grant levels and connection points with Breaking Barriers.

· Ensure all income and pipeline activity is accurately recorded and kept up to date in Salesforce.

· Act as the philanthropy lead for the Big Give Challenge Appeal.

2. Fundraising Events and Stewardship (20%)

· Co-ordinate Breaking Barriers' fundraising events programme, working across the fundraising team and wider Income and Engagement Directorate to shape a calendar that inspires and engages funders, supporters and senior volunteers.

· Manage event logistics including venue sourcing, guest list coordination, on-the-day support and follow-up.

· Lead on the development of stewardship materials for philanthropy audiences, including impact updates, newsletters and event collateral.

3. Prospect Research and Fundraising Administration (15%)

· Carry out prospect research to support the major gifts, statutory and lottery fundraising pipelines, producing clear, well-structured briefings for senior colleagues.

· Build and maintain funder profiles, recording prospect activity, research findings and pipeline information accurately in Salesforce.

· Support colleagues in the finance team with gift administration and thanking processes.

· Contribute to the directorate's approach to data quality and CRM best practice.

4. Other Responsibilities (5%)

· Participate in cross-team projects to build a thorough understanding of Breaking Barriers' work and wider activities.

· Undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required within the scope of this role.

Person Specification
Essential

· Demonstrable knowledge of and/or interest in the refugee or employment sectors.

· Experience of writing compelling funding proposals or other relevant persuasive content for different audiences.

· Understanding of the principles of trusts and foundations fundraising, whether through direct experience or study.

· Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesise information and present it clearly.

· Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong attention to detail.

· Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to take initiative and problem-solve.

· Able to build effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels.

· Confident using Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new systems.

 Desirable

· Experience of trusts and foundations fundraising in the charity sector.

· Familiarity with major donor, statutory or lottery fundraising.

· Experience using Salesforce or another fundraising CRM.

· Knowledge of GDPR and data protection principles as they apply to fundraising.

About the Role  

As Funding and Compliance Officer, you will play a key role in managing the full funding lifecycle, from assessing applications through to completion. You will review funding applications, undertake due diligence and present clear, well-evidenced funding recommendations to inform decision-making. 

Working closely with applicants, grant holders, Lloyds Banking Group colleagues and external partners, you will build strong, trusted relationships while providing a responsive and professional service throughout the funding process. You will also ensure accurate administration and reporting through Salesforce, supporting high-quality data and insight across the Foundation. 

Alongside this, you will support safeguarding, risk and wider compliance activity, helping to maintain strong governance and regulatory standards. You will also contribute to improving how we work, using feedback and insight to enhance processes and practice across the team.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Philanthropy Manager to support the delivery of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh's philanthropic strategy and contribute to the growth of its fundraising activity. 

This is an exciting opportunity to help grow philanthropic support for the College’s Global CARE initiative, helping to address healthcare inequalities worldwide through improved access to safe surgery and patient care. 

Reporting to the Head of Development, the successful candidate will develop and manage a portfolio of philanthropic opportunities, building relationships with donors, trusts, foundations, corporate supporters and partners to secure philanthropic funding and long-term engagement. 

This role would suit a relationship-focused professional who enjoys developing compelling funding propositions, building meaningful partnerships and demonstrating impact through effective donor stewardship and communications. 

The role is based in Edinburgh with flexibility for hybrid working. Occasional travel within the UK and internationally may be required. 

You will have experience in philanthropy, fundraising, partnership development or a related field, with excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills. You will be organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities effectively. 

Educated to degree level or with equivalent professional experience, you will be confident developing funding proposals, building partnerships and working collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders. Tall Ships Youth Trust is looking for an exceptional Director of Youth Development & Outdoor Learning to lead and grow our youth development offer at a pivotal moment in our strategy. This is a rare opportunity to combine mission, leadership and commercial thinking in a role that directly expands opportunities for young people, particularly from disadvantaged backgrounds.

You will shape the journey young people take with us, from their first voyage to longer-term development, training, employment and progression opportunities.

Through a combination of outdoor learning and sail training frameworks you will engage educational and youth leaders, apprenticeship providers and sector corporate partners to establish multiple pathways for young people in the UK. You’ll identify and create networks across the UK with education and youth development clients, outdoor learning providers and national organisations that offer leadership and development opportunities for young people. Ensuring that our three-voyage programme and space in between is employed as their preferred option for the personal and social development of the young people that they are responsible for.

This includes trading income generation for groups and individuals, while also supporting fundraising by developing business in geographies and communities that align with geographically restricted funding secured by the Trust.

You will also lead Tall Ships Youth Trust on its journey towards appropriate Kite marks, accreditation and quality marks to establish our credentials in the youth development and outdoor learning sectors.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Philanthropy and Partnerships Coordinator support the development and progression of philanthropy and partnership activity across trusts & foundations, corporate partners, and high‑value philanthropic audiences in the UK. The role is focused on coordination, preparation, prospects research, and pipeline support, enabling effective relationship management and timely progression of opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate and support a targeted portfolio of trusts & foundations, corporate, and philanthropic prospects, assisting with qualification, cultivation, and stewardship activity.
• Support the preparation and submission of trusts & foundations applications, including coordinating inputs, drafting supporting materials, and managing timelines and follow‑up.
• Support donor and partner engagement through effective briefing, scheduling, meeting preparation, follow‑up, and moves management.
• Act as a coordination point between UK, Global Philanthropy, Programs, and Business Development teams to align inputs, streamline processes, and reduce bottlenecks.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date CRM and pipeline records, ensuring donor intelligence, engagement activity, and stage progression are consistently recorded.
• Supporting prospect research and developing profiles when required.
• Support reporting and insight generation, including pipeline tracking, income forecasting inputs, and progress summaries to inform prioritisation and decision‑making 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

• Experience supporting or coordinating fundraising, philanthropy, or relationship-based income generation within a charity or comparable environment.
• Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to analyse and interpret information and data to support decision-making and insight.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing professional-level briefs and materials.
• Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively across teams and stakeholder groups.
• Exposure to fundraising, particularly in major gifts, trusts and foundations, and/or corporate partnerships.
• Understanding of data protection regulations (e.g. GDPR) and their application in donor management.
• Experience supporting donor stewardship activities and relationship management processes.
• Familiarity with working in an international or not-for-profit environment

About the Team

 The High Value Partnerships department is crucial to achieving Shelter’s charitable, raising over £20 million a year through relationship-based fundraising with businesses, high-net-worth individuals, legacy pledgers, trusts. 

This role will sit in a newly formed sub-team of Corporate Partnerships. The Corporate team has been successful in developing high value, long term and sector leading partnerships with companies such as IKEA, B&Q, HSBC UK and M&S.

About Breaking the Cycle

Breaking the Cycle is an access to banking programme for people with no fixed address. Access to banking is a key tool in breaking the cycle of homelessness. Shelter works with the financial services sector, to help them to better serve the needs of vulnerable customers and access basic banking products. 

Breaking the Cycle is delivered with a network of charity partners and local organisations who serve vulnerable individuals, including those who experience rough sleeping, living in temporary accommodation, seeking asylum and surviving domestic abuse, to access a bank account. Through the network we ensure more people access the help they need to become financially included. 

Breaking the Cycle is currently delivered in partnership with HSBC UK. In October 2025, HM Treasury announced an ambitious new Financial Inclusion strategy and identified Breaking the Cycle as a key programme to achieve their objectives. This will result in a significant expansion of Breaking the Cycle to an additional 5 major high street banks on a 12-month pilot period.

 About the role

Reporting to the Senior Partnership Manager (Breaking the Cycle), this role will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the Breaking the Cycle programme. The Executive will be responsible for the day-to-day management of two financial institutions, management of existing charity partners and onboarding new charity partners, as well as monitoring due diligence and safeguarding procedures. This role is fundamental to ensuring the programme runs smoothly. 

You will:

• be proactive with great attention to detail, 
• be comfortable working with data and Microsoft Excel 
• be highly process and data driven, with the ability to spot opportunities to drive efficiencies,
• have strong relationship-building skills,
• be a confident communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders 

You may have experience related to, or a background in, partnership/account management that will help you to deliver partnerships and build strong, productive working relationships. Experience in data management would also be valuable.

You will be well organised with the ability to prioritise and work efficiently with confidence to work independently and as part of a project team.
