The role:

A fantastic new opportunity has arisen at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability for an ambitious and strategic Head of Fundraising to lead and expand the RHN’s income generation and manage and drive a high performing team.

The Head of Fundraising will be responsible for generating income from all fundraising income streams: Community, Events, Corporate, Trusts and Foundations, Legacy and Direct Mail (Donor Development). They will oversee all aspects of fundraising, including developing and implementing the Fundraising Strategy, managing key donor relationships, driving forward any capital appeals and leading a team of fundraising professionals.

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a passionate, positive and highly experienced individual with a proven track record in senior fundraising roles within the charity sector and experience of successful income generation.  Candidates must be skilled on donor stewardship and stakeholder engagement, as well as being a confident and engaging public speaker.  Knowledge of fundraising standards and best practice are essential.

Main objectives of the role:

• Establish fundraising priorities and set fundraising goals in line with the wider organisational strategy
• Achieve the fundraising target and KPIs
• Lead on the organisation of a full calendar of fundraising events and activity and ensure applications are made in a timely manner
• Engage with Fellows, Trustees and volunteers to ensure wider RHN engagement
• Engage with internal teams to ensure the timely promotion of events, activities and to ensure engagement
• Work with clinical service teams particularly those areas fully funded by fundraising, to provide case studies and outcome reports
• To work closely with the Communications team to fully utilise social media and the RHN website for all fundraising events and activities.

St Giles is entering an exciting new phase with an ambitious Voluntary Fundraising Strategy for 2026–2029. We are looking for a talented and driven Fundraising Manager to play a central role in delivering this strategy and helping us:

• Diversify our income generation model
• Increase voluntary income by 15% across restricted and unrestricted funding

This role has a strong focus on Trusts & Foundations, Individual Giving and Legacy, with responsibility for managing and growing income across these streams. You will manage a fundraising income budget of approximately £2.2m, working collaboratively across teams to maximise impact and income.

Key responsibilities

Trusts & Foundations

• Lead on Trusts & Foundations applications and relationship management, working with the Trusts & Foundations Officer and Head of Voluntary Fundraising to raise £2m per year
• Develop and deliver high-quality written applications, presentations and pitches for 5, 6 and 7-figure funding opportunities
• Provide excellent stewardship to funders, including reporting, meetings, visits and events
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to produce strong funding bids
• Work collaboratively with frontline teams to develop service delivery models and budgets
• Identify innovative ways to grow unrestricted income

Individual Giving & Legacy

• Manage and deliver the Individual Giving and Legacy strategy

Campaigns, systems & finance

• Manage appeals, campaigns and events raising £200,000 per year across Individual Giving, Appeals and Legacy
• Maintain accurate records and reporting using ETapestry, ensuring GDPR compliance
• Manage multiple fundraising platforms (e.g. Enthuse, PayPal Giving, Payroll Giving) and continuously improve systems and processes
• Work closely with Finance to set, monitor and review budgets

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

The primary responsibilities of the Trusts and Foundations Co-ordinator are fundraising from and stewarding Trusts and Foundations, achieved by undertaking the following tasks:

1. Delivering the Trusts and Foundations fundraising strategy, with a particular focus on:

• Identification and cultivation:

• Producing lists of prospects to share with the Development Board, via the Director of Development.

• Working closely with colleagues in the Learning & Engagement, Concerts and Marketing departments to build strong, collaborative working relationships in order to source project information to support the development of funding bids.

• Stewarding

• Ensuring timely report development and submission, to maximise re-application rates.

• Ownership of accurate and comprehensive Trust, Foundation and Statutory accreditation in all collateral and online.

• Proactive and consistent conduit between prospects and the Philharmonia, managing invitations to supported projects and ensuring consistent, warm and professional relationship management.

2 Ensuring efficient administration of Trusts and Foundations fundraising, including:

• Managing all Trusts and Foundations pledges and grants on our CRM Tessitura, and ensuring data capture and processing is in line with GDPR and other privacy laws.

Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Trusts & Foundations Fundraiser to cover maternity leave. This is a hands-on and strategic role, offering the chance to lead our fundraising from trusts, foundations, and charitable funders during a key period of growth.

You will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting high-quality funding applications, building and maintaining relationships with existing and developing new funders, and ensuring that our supporter communications reflect our mission and impact. As a core member of our small, passionate team, you will also support wider fundraising and communications activities to help grow the organisation’s reach and income

Key Responsibilities

Trusts & Foundations Fundraising

· Lead all trust and foundation fundraising activity, delivering income in line with agreed targets.

· Identify, research, and cultivate new funding opportunities.

· Write compelling, high-quality applications and cases for support.

· Maintain accurate fundraising records, tracking pipeline, progress, and outcomes.

· Manage relationships with funders, ensuring excellent donor care and timely reporting.

Impact & Storytelling

· Work with our Programme Manager to collect, curate, and present impact data and stories from programmes to support funding applications.

· Work closely with the CEO and Programme Manager to demonstrate the impact of our work.

· Ensure all communications with funders reflect the organisation’s mission, values, and impact.

Collaboration & Wider Fundraising Support

· Work collaboratively with the wider fundraising and communications team to align strategies and maximise opportunities.

Skills & Experience

Essential

· Proven experience in trusts and foundations fundraising or similar fundraising role, ideally in the charity sector.

· Proven ability to secure grants in excess of £30,000 and multi-year funding.

· Excellent writing, storytelling, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate impact into compelling applications.

· Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.

· Strong interpersonal skills, confident in building relationships with funders and stakeholders.

· Analytical mindset, with experience maintaining accurate databases and using insight to inform activity.

About the Role

Young Roots is looking for an experienced and creative Trusts & Foundations Fundraiser to play a key role in securing income that transforms the lives of young refugees and asylum seekers. This is a rewarding role leading Trusts and Foundations income generation with structured support from the Head of Fundraising and Development.
