Main responsibilities

Assist the Fundraising Manager with income-generation activity across the organisation.

Surviving Economic Abuse (SEA) is the only UK charity dedicated to raising awareness of economic abuse and transforming responses to it.
Since our founding in 2017, we’ve proudly campaigned successfully for the recognition of economic abuse in UK law and influenced wide-ranging systemic change to transform responses to it. We're now entering an ambitious new phase, and we’re seeking a dynamic, strategic and values-led Head of Income as part of the Senior Leadership Teamto help drive it forward.
This is a critical time for SEA. With a bold three-year strategy now in place, we’re looking for an experienced income-generation leader to oversee and diversify our income streams — across high-net-worth giving, corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations, and earned income through consultancy and training. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Head of Income will play a vital role in shaping the future of the organisation and enabling us to scale our impact.
The Head of Income will lead a talented team, including our Senior Fundraising Manager (trusts and foundations) and Corporate Development Manager (strategic multi-stakeholder partnerships), and collaborate closely with our CEO, Trustees and earned income delivery teams (consultancy and training) whilst also being hands on in relationship development. Your approach will be collaborative, survivor-centred and driven by SEA’s values. By providing purposeful activity to prepare prisoners to successfully reintegrate into the community, we are working to improve prisoner’s skills and well-being. This is key to reducing recidivism.
The Role:
The Fundraising & Events Officer will provide administrative assistance with grants and donor fundraising and the logistics for events. Working alongside the Development Manager and the Founding Director you will support identifying and managing donor opportunities, and the research and support of applications to Trusts and Foundations. It is a diverse and varied role and is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to build a solid foundation in fundraising and events.
This is a results-driven role with the postholder driving planned income growth by establishing, enabling, and inspiring events, building relationships and maximising fundraising efforts. As this is a people facing role, you will be working with supporters over the phone, online, in writing and face to face, with the aim of helping donors receive the ultimate supporter journey.

Fundraising and earned income are fundamental requirements for FCW, and all staff are involved in fundraising and earned revenue activities.
Principal Accountabilities for the Core Job:
- Ensure all the necessary administration to support fundraising including recording all donations and potential contact information on Salesforce, thanking and reporting to all event attendees and donors.
- Assistance in the planning, setting up and logistics of all events including attending events as required (includes occasional out of office and out of hours commitments).
- Establish and maintain donor contacts on the database, and, with the Development Manager, coordinate donor communication and planning.
- Prepare donation quarterly reports and report post event on financial and potential contact outcomes and lessons learnt.
- Build and support our individual giving Champions programme through events and regular communications.

Guided by WA-UK’s objectives and strategic priorities the postholder will:

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
To provide excellent support to the Head of Operations having full regard to the charity’s objectives and priorities at all times, meeting or exceeding the Charities legal, ethical and moral standards. Lead by example by showing the ability to communicate interpersonal skills, problem solve, decision making and time management. To ensure that you work effectively in terms of daily operations. To build a rapport with our clients in a warm and friendly manner and have empathy with our clients’ needs. To quickly identify any problems and ensure each conversation is handled in a compassionate manner.
Developing and leading on the delivery of existing fundraising events as well as developing and delivering future events (which will include overnight stays) Build high value relationships with members and donors, for a wide range of audiences and media, supporting communications and marketing activities, working closely with colleagues across the organisation.
A good telephone manner is essential, together with excellent literacy, verbal analytical and IT skills, coupled with the ability to work to tight deadlines, often under pressure. To be able to show initiative and a ‘can do’ attitude at all times

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fundraising
i. Work collaboratively with multiple internal stakeholders to capture and understand requirements, identify new opportunities or build on existing activity to help achieve income targets.
ii. To data input and maintain events in line with current practices.
iii. To help find volunteers to attend events.
iv. To send out and organise fundraising merchandise and materials for Cinnamon Trust and volunteer events.

vii Have a good working knowledge of charity legislation and work to the Institute of Fundraising Codes of Practice and Fundraising Standards.

Events
i. To be available to attend major events for The Cinnamon Trust, making sure that all holidays are worked round our events diary.
ii. To drive The Cinnamon Trust van and trailer to events.
iii. To promote The Trust at events and always present a positive and professional image.
iv. To make sure the appearance of the stand is always presentable.
v. To manage volunteers at an event and give a briefing at the beginning of the day regarding objectives.
vi To seek any permissions required for an event and complete risk assessments required.
vii To make sure that furniture and other equipment is available at each event.
viii To make sure all materials for an event are event appropriate (eg: could be a volunteer driven event or PP) and well stocked.
ix To account for stock and merchandise for each event and fill out request forms that will be logged against each event.
x. To make sure that any cash taken at an event is kept safe.
xi. To liaise with the PR and Marketing department regarding events and to supply photos and copy for their use. To work with the PR and Marketing team regarding fundraising campaigns and promotions.
