The Trusts and Foundations Officer will support the Trusts and Foundations team to meet income targets and develop and maintain relationships with donors and prospects. The role combines supporting the Trusts and Foundations Manager, Senior Trusts Officer, and Head of Fundraising with the maintenance of existing relationships as well as generating their own income from both smaller and larger trusts. The LSO Development department is looking for a knowledgeable and self-motivated individual to join our team as Trusts & Foundations Officer at an exciting time in the LSO’s history. Reporting to the Trusts & Foundations Manager, the role will primarily work within the Trusts and Foundations team to establish and maintain relationships with grant-giving bodies to help meet and grow income targets. As Trusts and Foundations Manager, you will advise, develop and implement a strategy to secure income, and build a sustainable income stream, from charitable trusts, National Lottery and statutory bodies as part of the overall fundraising strategy. You will proactively prospect research to identify potential charitable trusts, National Lottery and statutory bodies funding streams with a view to securing restricted and unrestricted income for core activity and for new programmes of work. You will lead on the preparation of funding bids, planning and managing the process, working with the Director of Communications and Fundraising and/or the Head of Fundraising as appropriate. You will also be responsible for the account management of trust, lottery and statutory grants; ensuring that reporting is on-time, compliant with grant terms and conditions, professional and of high quality.

The Role
Proactively submit tailored fundraising applications to a wide range of charitable trusts, corporate foundations, National Lottery and statutory bodies, to fulfil the team income of c1m.
Continue working with a very warm pipeline, with many bids in progress and over 330k secured already.
Work with the Director of Communications and Fundraising (Director) and/or the Head of Fundraising as appropriate.
Manage and support the Trust and Foundations Officer, who oversees the smaller trust programme, empowering them to develop, grow and contribute to the overall strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage a robust portfolio of prospects and supporters to meet income targets
- Research and identify potential funders for unfunded Sense projects/concepts
- Work closely with key stakeholders, sector partners and leadership to grow pipelines, this includes monitoring of Trusts, Foundations and Statutory funding portals
- Lead on funding applications to a range of Trusts, Foundations and Statutory funders, including coordinating inputs, writing narrative applications and application budgets
- Lead or support the grant management of key Trusts, Foundations and Statutory funders’ grants. This includes: ensuring compliance against contracts, quality assurance, and submission of funder reports
Skill, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Experience of generating income and achieving financial targets in a high value role
- Experience of working with a Trusts and Foundations pipeline, or a Statutory pipeline, making sure opportunities are identified, recorded, and taken forward
- Direct experience of developing and submitting six figure plus proposals for Trusts Foundations, Statutory funders, or equivalent
- Experience of working with Senior Volunteers and/or Leadership to engage prospects and supporters
- Able to write strong, persuasive narrative for six figure plus proposals and reports
- Able to communicate with passion and clarity
- Comfortable representing the organisation and developing new leads and relationships
