Job description

The Health Foundation is an independent charity committed to bringing about better health and health care for people in the UK. The new REAL Centre (Research and Economic Analysis for the Long Term) is starting a new research and funding programme to provide new evidence and analysis that will help health and social care policymakers consider the long-term implications of their funding, design and delivery decisions.

The Centre will become a hub of expertise for independent, objective and impartial evidence, analysis and methods relating to long term issues about the health and care system. It will comprise of an in-house team of economists and analysts at the Health Foundation, supported by commissioned work and academic research.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a data manager with a passion for engaging with top quality research and a desire for improving health and care. The Centre is looking for a data manager to support our in-house research and our partnership work outside the organisation. The successful applicant will work on the management and architecture of the secure, patient-level data sets used by the REAL Centre.

The successful applicant will be a proficient coder (preferably in R/SAS) and help to ensure that quality controlled, standardised, cleaned datasets are available for quantitative research by the REAL Centre analytical team. In addition, they will engage with other data mangers across the foundation, ensure the data is used securely and help investigate the potential and use of new data.

The successful candidate will be able to work both collaboratively to deliver joint projects and to provide technical mentorship to the growing team of analysts in the REAL Centre.
