Support Dogs trains and provides specialist assistance dog to give 100% reliable advance warning of epileptic seizures; to help children with autism to stay safe and better engage with the world around them. Our disability assistance dogs bring independence and a better quality of life for those with physical disabilities including MS, Cerebral Palsy and Fibromyalgia.

Founded and entirely based in Sheffield our charity operates across the UK, growing significantly over recent years. The demand for our work is overwhelming, with requests for support increasing ten-fold over the past few years. Support Dogs provides all of its services free of charge and relies entirely on voluntary donations for funding.

Funding from trusts and charitable foundations is vital to our charities ability to provide its vital, life saving work. Support Dogs is going through a period of growth and is looking for an experienced fundraiser to provide support to help us to reach further and maximise opportunities as our existing post holder takes maternity leave.

We are seeking an experienced Chief Executive to build on our history and unique strengths whilst at the same time taking us on a journey to the future where we develop services and partnerships that meet the ever-increasing demand for the services and programs that do, and can, deliver.

Our background:

Parents 1st UK is dedicated to enabling quality peer support to flourish during pregnancy, birth and beyond. The evidence is clear - effective and sustainable peer support nurtures the emotional wellbeing of mothers, fathers, partners, and babies, and builds strengths in communities. We work both locally and nationally to achieve this aim.

Our national work: Through an ‘open source’ online community platform, we provide all the resources necessary to set up a perinatal peer support initiative. Freely sharing all the tools that our local programme (Parents 1st Essex) uses in daily practice, from budget setting to volunteer training guides and impact tracking. Working with commissioners and providers, Parents 1st UK also provides consultancy and workshops to help build new perinatal peer support initiatives in communities.

Our local work: Parents 1st Essex currently operates in South and North Essex, delivering perinatal peer support to parents, through 1-1 or group support. Peer supporters engage and develop trusting relationships with parents during pregnancy, continue support through birth and the first few months afterwards.

Alongside this, Parents 1st UK also leads the Essex Peer to Parent Network, a peer support collaborative that aims to develop a hub of good practice across Essex. The Peer to Parent Network employs 4 Peer Support Link Workers who work alongside the local maternity units in Essex, helping parents to access peer support during pregnancy or anytime during the first year after birth.

As the CEO of Parents 1st UK, you will play a pivotal role in restructuring the organisation following a merger with an associated charity during 2023. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering unity, creating operational resilience, and guiding the organisation towards sustained success in delivering vital services to parents, families and our partners.

Chief Executive – full-time, permanent, London (flexible/hybrid)

The Institute of Food Science and Technology (IFST) is seeking a new Chief Executive to lead the organisation through the next phase of its growth and development. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for a highly experienced and energetic senior player to lead a small executive team, along with many highly dedicated and capable Institute members, as we embark on a number of key development projects which will continue to grow our charitable activities and influence in the food sector. The role is a key point of contact and ambassador for the Institute with many senior and influential stakeholders within the food sector and governments.

We are looking for a strong strategic and conceptual thinker, experienced in business and financial management, who can communicate with and influence people at all levels. The role leads a small team and will have significant hands-on involvement in day to day operational matters.

The individual will have attained a BSc or equivalent level, and have demonstrable experience in leadership and people management. They will have a broad understanding of the food (or associated) sector (and preferably experience working in the sector). Ideally, the individual will already have experience managing or running a charity, and so will have a practical understanding of charity governance best practice. 

With multiple activities from publishing through to professional recognition and from scientific and technical events and communication through to supporting the next generation of talent, the Institute is looking for a leader who can work creatively and yet in a focussed way to ensure all these activities are progressed.

Ideally, they will have previously worked for a professional membership body and are likely to have experience in the food sector.

About the role:

• Full-time, permanent. London-based (Hammersmith) with flexible working – the individual will be required to attend regular physical meetings, often in London, but with some other meetings in the UK. This role may also include some international travel. Salary: On application. No agencies.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

As the Trusts and Foundations Executive, you will be responsible for delivering income from a range of donors and prospects, with a focus on trusts and foundations, through growing a successful grants pipeline and inspiring funders to support the Helen Bamber Foundation. You will be managed by our Grants Manager and work closely with the Head of Fundraising to deliver high-quality applications and reports to small and medium-sized Trusts and Foundations, as well as supporting larger donors in collaboration with your team members.

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Deputy Trust Executive to work closely with the Director of The Linbury Trust and the Lead Trust Executive of The Headley Trust, to ensure that grant-making is in keeping with the philanthropic vision, values, and ethos of the Trustees.

The Linbury Trust and The Headley Trust are independent grant making Trusts, part of the operating office of The Sainsbury Family Charitable Trusts (SFCT). Established by members of three generations of the Sainsbury family, the trusts’ support for charitable causes for over 50 years represents one of the leading examples of sustained philanthropy in Britain.

With a wide and varied remit, including Arts, Heritage UK and Health and Social welfare, the key responsibilities will include:

• Providing the Trustees with expert professional advice and well-judged recommendations for grant-making, based on detailed knowledge of their sector and comprehensive research and analysis.

• Assisting in the management of grant making operations including assessing applications, conducting due diligence, and ensuring effective grants administration.

About you:

• With experience and understanding of working in areas of activity relevant to the Trusts’ work, you will have demonstrated experience in managing grant programmes with diverse grantees to achieve strategic charitable goals.

• With excellent communication skills, you will be able to present ideas skilfully both in writing and in person and be able to build rapport with Trustees and build strong collaborative working relationships with other funders, expert advisors, NGOs, and grantees.

• You will have strong research skills based on knowledge of the charity sector and be able to successfully plan and manager a substantial administrative workload, with careful attention and be able to effectively prioritise work across both Trusts.

• You will be confident to take initiative and work independently and thrive in working in a complex and diverse environment, but most importantly, you will whole-heartedly support the family’s realisation of its philanthropy and demonstrate commitment to the Trustees’ objectives and grant-making priorities.

For this role, the applicant must have experience of working as an Executive Assistant / Personal Assistant or Senior Administrator within a busy office, educational or charity setting.  A car driver is essential.

You will need excellent communication skills, attention to detail, be able to demonstrate proficient IT skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as being organised, effective and efficient.

This is an exciting and varied role, and the successful candidate will support the Founder and Trust within an expanding and diverse charitable organisation.

The Ruskin Mill Trust Group operates five colleges and associated residential provisions, as well as independent specialist schools. We are seeking a highly experienced Trusts and Foundations fundraising consultant to spearhead the Trusts programme at Dreams Come True. As an excellent communicator, influencer, and relationship builder, you will have a proven track record of successful fundraising in this area: ideally securing between 6 and 7-figure gifts.
The successful individual must clearly understand what is meant by a strong brand / charity proposition and have clear evidence of creating and delivering compelling cases for support, with strong examples of this resulting in successful grants to the value of £50-£100k.
Building upon the current small programme, you will lead on initiating conversations with new funders; quickly building rapport and submitting compelling funding proposals and writing timely reports as necessary. This is the sole Trusts based role within the Fundraising team but works closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation to develop funding projects and applications.

• Crafting Compelling Funding Applications: Collaborate with the CEO to create high-quality, persuasive funding applications. Utilise your creativity and storytelling skills to effectively communicate the impact of our projects.
• Building Positive Relationships: Cultivate strong partnerships with trusts, grants, and foundations. Ensure timely and meaningful communication with funders, including thank-you messages, updates, and reporting.
• Maintaining Records and Pipeline: Keep accurate records of funders and funding applications. Manage the pipeline of submissions and responses to optimise fundraising efforts.
• Prospect Research: Conduct thorough research using trust-finding databases and other resources to identify potential grant makers. Match suitable projects with the most appropriate funders.

Location: Medway/Maidstone area

Contract: Permanent, Immediate Start

Remuneration: Circa £28,000 - £30,000 pro rata

Working Hours: 15 hours per week (including hybrid working); Approximately 1 day per month on-site meeting with the team.

Annual Leave: 28 days (including statutory holidays)
