We are a charity based in Kirklees, West Yorkshire with a commitment to working with and supporting children and young people under the age of 25 who are facing disadvantage in their lives. 

A large part of our work involves supporting the mental and emotional health of children and young people including supporting families where this will positively impact on young people’s mental health and well-being. 

We deliver support, services, activities and events from our beautiful buildings and grounds in Mirfield.  The site provides safe and therapeutic spaces which promote wellbeing as well as hosting weddings and events in the Northorpe Barn.

The role

This is a pivotal and exciting new role, with huge scope and freedom to diversify and generate income for the Trust.  You will be responsible for building up a strong and sustainable supporter base by working with a range of funders including trusts, foundations and corporate sponsors, building and maintaining relationships that last.

We are looking for someone with experience in generating income and our ideal candidate will be creative, proactive, dynamic, determined and enthusiastic.  The role requires excellent engagement and communication skills, both to help raise the profile of the Trust (and the important work we do) and to win the hearts and minds of a range potential donors from individuals through to corporate and charitable foundations.

Key Tasks

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all high value fundraising activity, including proposals, applications, and donor interactions, and be able to regularly report this activity back to the Head of Philanthropy.

• Manage a portfolio of low-mid level prospects and existing donors, developing clear strategies to cultivate relationships and secure continued philanthropic support of £1,000 to £10,000. Ensure all donors in the assigned portfolio are provided stewardship and take responsibility for contacts and annual work plan.

• Develop and deliver a programme of cultivation, stewardship and recognition low-mid level donors and prospects, proactively seeking opportunities to improve the chances of securing repeat gifts through bespoke communications and consistent stewardship.

• Support the Head of Philanthropy and wider High Value Team with stewardship and cultivation of donors and key contacts. These activities may include virtual events, stewardship events, proposal development, annual reporting, and direct marketing appeals.

• Ensure the upkeep of a database and filing system for all existing and prospective donors within High Value Giving liaising with the Finance and Administrative team to ensure reconciliation with financial record.

• Work closely with the Philanthropy team and other colleagues to maximise all opportunities and support a dynamic, successful, and professional team

• Ensure that data security is maintained and that legal and regulatory requirements are fully complied with.

• Undertake other tasks, when necessary, to achieve the team’s and the organisation’s overall objectives.

 General

• Managing a complex workload with competing demands and deadlines. The role holder will agree objectives and overall priorities with the Head of Philanthropy but is expected to manage unexpected/unplanned work within overall timeframes.

• The post holder is required to work closely and collaboratively with colleagues within the Fundraising Team to ensure the successful delivery of fundraising activities.

• The post holder will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills as you will need to communicate effectively and sensitively, building strong relationships with existing and potential donors.

Experience

Essential

• Experience with interacting and developing relationships with supporters or customers using a variety of channels written and verbal.

• Ability to communicate in writing and orally in a succinct and engaging manner.

• Ability to deal with information in a confidential manner and respond with sensitivity.

• Ability to work weekends/evenings on occasion to support events and other activities and willingness to travel within the UK as needed to support fundraising activities (most often travel to the London-based officer)

Fundraised income has grown rapidly over the last three years, focusing mainly on income from trusts and foundations. Foundation fulfil its potential.

The Development Director will be responsible for fundraising from all sources, including trusts and foundations, public funders, corporate sponsors and individuals. Reporting to the Managing Director and working as a part of our small, dynamic team of management staff, Chineke!’s Development Director will play a vital role in securing funding for projects including concerts and tours by the Chineke! Orchestra and Chineke! Junior Orchestra, and our Learning & Participation programme. You will work closely with colleagues to gain an in-depth understanding of all projects, including budgets, which will enable you to make applications to carefully targeted potential sources.

In this role you will lead and empower the Executive Team and organisation to deliver high quality services to ensure that patient voices are heard. Role: Programme Officer

Reporting to: Programmes and Partner Manager

Contract Type: Full time, permanent (part-time candidates will be considered, minimum 4 days per week) 

Number of days: 5 days a week (will consider flexible working hours).

Westway Trust is seeking a qualified accountant to join as our Head of Finance who will lead on all aspects of the finance function to achieve the Trusts goals.  You will also manage a small team and will offer strategic finance support across the range of activities undertaken by the organisation.

You will have significant experience operating at a senior level within a complex organisation and registered charity, and will possess the right blend and balance of strategic, communication, innovation and people skills.

Key responsibilities of the role include but not limited to:

• Lead, manage and improve the Trust’s finance function and provide accurate, timely and relevant financial reports as required by the CEO, Executive Team and the Trust Board.
• Be the Executive Lead of the Finance Audit and Risk Committee, ensuring timely papers to the CEO and to the Committee and Board as required and liaising with the Head of Governance and HR as required.
• Ensure the provision and reporting of financial accounts, forecasting and large-scale project/programme budgets, estate development plans, and the associated reporting.
• Oversight of the legal and financial statutory processes in line with the Charity Commission and Companies House requirements, including the Annual Audit. Allocating tasks for timely responses and keeping all colleagues abreast of progress.
• Monitor, cash flow, reserves, analysis of performance against the organisation’s annual business plan and dashboard as it relates to the finance function.
• Contribute to the overall leadership of the Trust and to the Trust’s future strategic and operational planning. Support Executive Team colleagues as required on the delivery of cross-team initiatives.
• Line management of the Senior Finance Manager, the Debt Recovery Consultant and the Development Partnerships Lead.

Essential Experience, Skills and Attributes:

• Significant and successful experience of operating as a Head of Finance, ideally in a charity setting.
• A track record of working collaboratively with a team to develop successful internal partnerships and achieve joint success against shared objectives.
• Experience of the finance function and all the associated processes, with strong attention to detail.
• Experience of implementing enhanced reporting tools within financial software, including the ability to coach others.
• Practical knowledge of VAT, including accounting of partial exemption relevant to charities.
• Experience of managing staff and supporting their development.
• Strong interpersonal skills for both workplace and external representation contexts, operating with enthusiasm, flexibility, energy and commitment and demonstrating credibility and gravitas.

As an Area Manager you will give leadership, direction and guidance to the staff of Medaille Trust to ensure the provision and development of a high quality service in line with the Trust’s Mission, Values and Strategy.

You will have a good understanding of the CQC framework relating to Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking.  You will carry out quarterly assurance audits in all safe houses ensuring any appropriate action is taken where necessary.

You will line manage, induct, mentor, coach and support Service Managers.  Additionally, you will ensure that any complaints, grievances and disciplinaries are investigated and responded to in an effective and timely manner in line with Medaille Policies.

Although the post is home based, the post holder will be expected to travel frequently to our safe houses within the South and London areas with some overnight stays.

You must have previous experience in a relevant sector or experience of working with adults that are vulnerable.  Experience of managing staff, carrying out line management, supervision and appraisals is essential.  Additionally, you must have experience of setting up Service User Engagement groups.

The Senior Grants Officer (Business Development) will join ClientEarth’s thriving and growing Business Development team. A key role for securing new grant income, the postholder will play a crucial part in the research and cultivation of potential new funder relationships, and will develop and submit winning funding proposals to trusts, foundations and institutional donors. 

They will manage their own portfolio of prospective funders, and undertake detailed prospect research into the foundation donor market whilst liaising with ClientEarth’s global teams across different programme areas and geographies. Working closely with the Business Development Manager, they will identify potential alignment with ClientEarth’s strategic priorities and inform decision-making in relation to funding opportunities. 

Meet your Manager

In this role, you will be managed by Alex Wright. A fundraiser for over 12 years, Alex previously worked for a range of national music charities and is a trustee of two arts education charities. As part of the Business Development Team at ClientEarth, he manages the cultivation of new relationships with trusts and foundations in the US and securing new grant income. Alex joined ClientEarth in 2024 and is based in our London office.

Main Duties

• Prospect research and pipeline development - Proactively undertake research to identify, qualify and prioritise new funding prospects/ opportunities to support the build of a pipeline of high quality leads to guide future fundraising efforts; 
• Business Development and Income generation  - Draft clear and compelling written fundraising materials including cases for support, funding proposals, and concept notes;
• Systems and processes - Provide timely and accurate information to the Business Development Manager on funding opportunities in their portfolio and progress with workplan, as requested, to enable accurate monitoring and reporting to the Head of Business Development;
• Understanding of ClientEarth’s programmes and funding needs 

Role requirements

• Fluent (CEFR level C2) in English 
• Experience of working in a fundraising or business development role for a charity, NGO, private or public entity; 
• Experience of drafting compelling and successful proposals for trusts, foundations and statutory institutions and securing multi-year grants, ideally at the six-figure level and above; 
• Experience of supporting the relationship development process with a new donor, from prospect research through to ask.
• Strong project management skills to lead the proposal development process to meet funder deadlines, including stakeholder management; 
• Strong alignment with ClientEarth’s values and commitment to our vision, and mission and equity, diversity and inclusion strategy objectives.

Heritage of London Trust restores the buildings and monuments that tell the story of the city and the people who live within it. Founded over 40 years ago, our mission was to rescue characterful and neglected historic sites all across the city. We focus on sites at risk in areas of least investment - in local communities that most need our help - ensuring a sustainable future for every project we work on. To date, we have restored nearly 800 sites across London.

In 2020 we launched our ground-breaking Proud Places youth programme to inspire and  engage young people with the world around them, helping them develop knowledge and skills now and for the future. We work with mainstream schools across London and are the only UK heritage organisation to specialise in working with excluded pupils, young  people at risk of gang exploitation and young refugees. To date we have worked with 6,000 young people and the programme continues to expand.

As our programme work has grown, so has our team and investment into our fundraising capability. We are now looking for a dedicated fundraiser who will help us build on our relationship based fundraising activity to grow our income. The Head of Philanthropy is a new role reporting to the Chief Executive.

We have a great pipeline of corporate partners, opportunities with charitable foundations and attractive offers for our dedicated group of high-value supporters to experience our work up close. Our Board of Trustees are committed and well connected, many of them are generous personal donors. We steward our supporters through a series of high-quality events such as intimate lunches, VIP behind-the-scenes visits, site based workshops and expert-led conferences.

We are looking for a Head of Philanthropy who shares our ambition and drive and is excited to work closely with a dedicated and collaborative team while enjoying autonomy to build on our great work to date. Based in a vibrant newly developed impact-hub for charities who work with young people, this role will work in partnership with senior peers in communications and programmes, alongside a fundraising assistant and the Chief Executive, who herself was a professional fundraiser.

The role would be suited to an experienced relationship fundraiser looking to step up or into a role with exciting growth opportunities, or could suit an experienced relationship based sales or communication professional looking to pivot their career and make a positive social impact. Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led literacy across a number of prisons. We now have the opportunity to provide a service at HMP The Verne (subject to contract award). Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our literacy programme at HMP The Verne, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.

This role will be prison-based. The purpose of this role is to provide efficient and comprehensive administrative support to the joint directors of development and engagement (D&E), and director of policy and strategy (P&S). This would be an ideal role for a well-organised and enthusiastic candidate who is looking for the next step in their business administration career. The post-holder will also work closely with colleagues in the chair’s, chief executive’s, deputy chief executive’s and other directors’ offices, and will be a key member of a busy, but collaborative, executive support team (EST).

The director of D&E and the director of policy and strategy work across the organisation and with multiple external stakeholders to forward the work of NHS Providers on behalf of our members. The post-holder must be a team player with an ability to work flexibly across the organisation, prioritising and managing their own workload amid conflicting demands and busy work periods. Excellent judgement and discretion, and an ability to promote a positive image to both internal and external stakeholders, are essential.
