About the role
Smart Works are looking to appoint a HR Advisor to join our People team at a time of significant growth for the organisation. Working closely with the existing team of two, the HR Advisor will play a crucial role in developing the centralisation of the function for all 11 centres across the UK.

Duties and responsibilities

Our Innovation Team, in place since 2020, aims to support the Foundation to reach more disabled people, and explores a wide range of current and future transport modes and technologies and how they could be made accessible. Flagship projects include grant funding the National Centre for Accessible Transport (ncat), setting up a new model of car club in rural areas, and an influencing initiative targeting Government and industry to ensure the transition to electric vehicles (EVs) is inclusive. The Team has also commissioned a wide range of robust research, including on our flagship intervention, the Motability Scheme, and grant funded partners in the disability sector to do the same.
This is a brand new role based in our Innovation Team, working closely with Communications colleagues, to use our existing evidence base and that of our partners to develop robust policy positions. As a politically neutral organisation that does not currently have a policy function, we want our start to policy work to be rooted in structured research, drawing out themes across transport modes and disability types to tell a clear story about what changes would make the biggest difference to disabled people. We want to do so in a transparent way that prioritises sharing what we know and convening key stakeholders to bring them on a journey with us.

The role
The role is a 12 month fixed term contract and sits in our people team, supporting the charity by providing a professional, comprehensive and proactive recruitment service. Our Practitioner Led Assessment Service is the entry point for our beneficiaries seeking support from the Charity. Our Assessment Practitioners work in partnership with our beneficiaries to identify goals, individual needs and appropriate solutions.
The team provide advice, information and support and work collaboratively with the multi-professional team to ensure our beneficiaries are offered the right support at the right time.
Reporting into the Beneficiary Experience and Continuity Lead you will be responsible for day-to-day management of the practitioner led assessment service, holding a small case load and reviewing and resolving complex cases with the team.
You will work collaboratively with key stakeholders across health improvement and rehabilitation services, to ensure services are integrated, person centred, outcome focused and based on an ethos of recovery.

ICA to meet its organisational objectives - Maintain and develop ICA’s brand in international, national and local markets, ensuring
ICA’s identity is maintained across all communications channels - Oversee the ICA platforms including its website, socials, media and the overall user
experience to ensure that they serve the organisational objectives - Develop and deliver a coherent marketing and communications strategy that promotes
ICA, and enables the institution to meet its income targets - Develop, implement and maintain ICA’s overall digital and social media strategy
- Stay appraised of new opportunities for promoting ICA

required including Arts Council England NPO reporting - Reporting to the Director and Board of Trustees on the strategy and delivery of the ICA’s
business growth with the ability to flex and respond effectively when variances arise - Reporting to the Finance and Audit sub-committee
Team Management
- Play an active and highly collaborative role as a full member of both the Executive
Leadership Team and Senior Leadership Team - Line Manage roles of Senior Development Manager, Development Manager, Audience
and Marketing Manager, Membership Manager, Editions Coordinator, Ticketing &
Membership manager, ensuring person specific objectives are set in line with the ICA’s
strategic mission & KPIs, as well as supporting staff’s ongoing development and

KEY REQUIREMENTS

The purpose of the role
The People Team provide advice, guidance and support to all National Theatre staff, line managers and senior leaders on people policies; terms and conditions of employment; recruitment and selection; performance management; staff engagement; diversity and inclusion; trade union and employee relations; discipline, grievance, and capability processes; and training and career development. The successful applicant for this role will lead on the development and review of employment policies, undertaking benchmarking and researching best practice to ensure the NT has a full range of accessible and inclusive policies. The successful candidate will have the following:

- Experience of working with information, databases and ability to interrogate and analyse data.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks
Strategy and Business Development:
The SERC Manager will be part of the Operational Management Team supporting the Senior Leadership Team through clear strategy and business development by:
- Develop and oversee the strategic development, business planning and operational management of SERC.
- Ensuring SERC is financially sustainable and growing by seeking income generating opportunities to develop SERC business, identifying additional markets and services, and developing and implementing a Business Plan.
- Positioning SERC as the ‘go to’ ecological data evidence provider for the county and leading the marketing and communications to drive this forward.
- Ensuring SERC has capability and resource to achieve commitments through Service Level Agreements, ensuring that SERC is having a positive contribution to planning and policy across the county.
- Overseeing the development and delivery of the Somerset State of Nature Report, analysing and interpreting data to establish trends and identify where action for nature recovery needs to occur as the process for monitoring delivery of the Local Nature Recovery Strategy for Somerset.

Manage a robust data collection and interpretation service by:
- Establishing customer requirements, including researching and monitoring of users’ needs.
- Contributing high quality information and searches to enable effective planning decisions
- Overseeing the work programmes in data capture, entry, management, analysis, interpretation and dissemination to support evidence driven decision-making.
- Negotiate SLAs with key existing and new service users
Responsibility 2: SERC Team Management
Achieve the aims of the Business Plan agreed with SERC Executive Group and Somerset Wildlife Trust through:
- Managing the SERC team in the setting of objectives, considering succession, priorities and work programmes to ensure high quality, efficient and timely delivery of projects and services to users.
- Developing and applying Local Records Centre protocols and policies, meeting the requirements of data users and providers, as well as professional codes of conduct and the promotion of national standards, through achieving ALERC accreditation.
- Keeping abreast of and contributing to political and technical developments in biodiversity data management and make presentations of SERC’s work and national policy development to seminars and conferences.
- Receiving and resolving complaints and representations about SERC services from data users and providers.
- Setting and managing budgets, risks and issues.
Responsibility 3: Develop through Advocacy, Influence and Delivery
Be a specialist and nurture strong relationships by:
- Developing excellent relationships with national and local recording communities and support them to contribute high quality useful data that informs an evidence-led strategy to improve Somerset’s natural environment.
- Coordinating the SERC Executive Group to deliver and monitor an effective strategy for the Records Centre that provides usable data for planners, Service Level Agreement holders and working with Somerset Wildlife Trust, in the provision of a conservation strategy for the county.
- Set data access parameters to secure SERC business model while making data as open access as possible
- Developing secure funding and commercial income streams, and manage SERC project-based work, meeting the aims of an agreed Business Plan and Somerset Wildlife Trust’s strategy.
