The post holder will coordinate and provide information-based sexual health outreach services, testing and brief HIV prevention interventions in commercial venues and at events across London. Interventions will predominantly target people who may be at higher risk of HIV and STI acquisition, particularly amongst higher prevalence communities such as Gay, Bisexual and Men who have Sex with Men (GBMSM), Black African and Trans communities.  This role will involve working within sex on premises venues frequented by GBMSM and would therefore be best suited to someone from that community. This position is only open to applicants who identify as male (Equality act 2010 Schedule 9 Part 1) as the role will involve working in male only venues. 

Programme

The post holder will be a member of the GMI Partnership team, based at METRO, working closely with their counterparts at other GMI partner agencies (Positive East and Spectra). The partnership is the main provider of the London HIV Prevention Programme, a sexual health and HIV testing outreach programme for GBMSM, across the capital. The post holder will be responsible for liaising directly with other contract partners and being a main point of contact for various outreach venue providers.  The worker will form part of the METRO HIV Domain and will support the overall HIV prevention services provided by the charity.

We’re a small charity that brings communities together to create cleaner, connected and safer urban and rural neighbourhoods by tackling the litter problems where they live. Litter-picking brings people closer together, enables neighbours to meet one another other and helps create a greater sense of pride and community in local areas.

Historically, we have delivered litter-picking focussed community engagement projects in London and Birmingham. Our current focus is developing partnerships with community organisations across England to expand our reach and increase impact.

Main duties of the role 

• To provide a pro-active, high-quality administration and support service to the Operational Team, Chief Executive and the Corporate Partnerships team. 

Operational Team: Deals with logistics, processes and day to day functions of our work on the ground with community partners and volunteers.

Purpose of the role:

To develop and deliver an integrated and effective programme of work in Aberfeldy, in line with the mission, vision and strategic plan developed by the our clients Resident Board, specifically:

• Further develop understanding of what activities, support and opportunities people in Aberfeldy see as important for their health and wellbeing.
• Further develop the ABL service to ensure it responds to what matters to the local community, working with members of the community to co-design, develop, deliver, commission and review resident-led activities and initiatives both in the ABL space and other local community venues.
• Develop the ABL space to be a place that fully lives up to the ambition of it being somewhere for people to go and feel welcome and comfortable, a space to which people will want to return and be a part of – a space for the community.
• Motivate, inspire, and lead the ABL team, volunteers, and sessional workers to deliver the service.
• Expand the reach of ABL and ensure members of the local community are aware of it, what’s its purpose is and what it offers.

Responsibilities include:

Leadership, Strategy and Governance

• To be an active member of the Made in Hackney Senior Leadership Team, working together to galvanise the organisation behind our strategic plan.

• To research and prospect future funders.

Donor stewardship & reporting

• To retain current donors and maximise fundraising opportunities, including delivering a programme of appropriate stewardship opportunities with the core team.

Communications

As the Chief Instructor you will be a driving force for the quality delivery of training at the centre. You will lead volunteers and sessional instructors to ensure high quality delivery and manage the day to day training, whilst ensuring the health, safety and safeguarding of all whom you are training. You will work closely with the Centre Manager to support the day to day operations. 

Responsibilities as our Chief Instructor will include:.

• Organising and delivering high quality face to face and virtual training for cadets (and volunteers)
• Supervising delivery of courses by others and ensuring that we adhere to National Governing Body standards and any other existing regulations are adhered to.
• Assisting the Centre Manager to ensure that all activities at the facility are conducted in a safe manner, and that all sessional instructors or volunteers are appropriately briefed, qualified and trained.
• Deputising for the Centre Manager in their absence.

Requirements needed to become our Chief Instructor:

• Experience working with groups of young people.
• Experience of delivery high quality youth and adult training. 
• Understanding and awareness of youth safeguarding and supporting young people’s wellbeing.
• The ability to plan, organise and supervise delivery of training.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Advocate to join our team covering Edinburgh. You will be involved in one-to-one advocacy along with group work across the area; this could be in a clients’ home or other suitable community venue and be home based for telephone referrals and administrative tasks.  Therefore, access to your own transportation and a suitable home internet connection is essential.
