IKWRO –Women’s Rights Organisation (IKWRO) is an award-winning charity founded (as the Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation) in 2002. As testament to its’ success and in response to huge need, IKWRO has expanded and now provides unique and vital support for women and girls from all Middle Eastern, North African and Afghan (MENA) communities who are at risk of “honour” based violence, child marriage, forced marriage, female genital mutilation, domestic violence, sexual violence and other forms of gender violence.
IKWRO provides direct services including advocacy and professional counselling. IKWRO opened the UK’s first specialist Middle Eastern women’s refuge. IKWRO is regularly called upon to share expertise with government, academics, and media and to train professionals from bodies such as the police, social services and schools.
IKWRO has led the recognition of “honour” based abuse and “honour” killing as forms of violence against women and girls. Campaign successes include; the first extradition from Kurdistan-Iraq to the UK of perpetrators of “honour” killing of Banaz Mahmod, the UK’s criminalisation of forced marriage, child marriage, virginity testing and hymenoplasty, as well as the first ever national inspection of policing of “honour” based violence.
This is an exciting time to join IKWRO with the opportunity to help shape and implement the organisations’ new campaigns and communications strategies.
The Campaign and Communications Manager will work under the direction of the Executive Director of IKWRO and will be responsible for drafting and implementing IKWRO’s new campaign and communications strategy to achieve positive systemic legal and policy change, informed by the experiences of the women and girls that IKWRO represents. The role involves lobbying, research, media and communications, networking, events management, engaging with the wider team and the women and girls IKWRO represents to ensure their voices are heard and maintaining and strengthening IKWRO’s leadership in the field. The Campaign and Communications Manager will be both an excellent team player and also have the ability to work independently and manage volunteers.

Job Title: Housing Support Worker

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Housing Support Worker to provide high quality practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic abuse and their children living in our dispersed refuge accommodation in Warwickshire.
You will be forming a team that makes up the Warwickshire Dispersed Safe Accommodation service. This service will provide emergency safe accommodation across Warwickshire with high-quality domestic abuse support, ‘by-and-for’ services for survivors of domestic abuse and their children.
Housing Support Workers will work closely with the Floating Support Workers and Child Support Workers (who provide the personal support to survivors of domestic abuse and their children) to ensure that the emergency accommodation and support meets the whole range of survivors’ needs.
The post holder will be responsible for the Health and Safety and maintenance of emergency safe accommodation units in multiple 1–3-bedroom properties across Warwickshire. This will include the practical set up and maintenance of home furnishings and utilities in each property and the management of the cleaning and replacements required between each use of the accommodation unit.
The post holder will provide support to survivors fleeing domestic abuse around accessing housing benefit for the dispersed accommodation and support survivors with exploring and accessing move on accommodation.
The Housing Support Worker (HSW) will be responsible for ensuring that the properties will maintain Refuge’s accommodation standards and comply with all Health and Safety legislation and requirements
Housing Support Workers will work in partnership with both statutory and voluntary sector partners to ensure that the properties are managed to a high standard and ensure a welcoming approach to all survivors and their children.
As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.

Purpose of This Role:
This is a new, pivotal strategic role to shape future policy and practice in how faith communities support social prescribing for the benefit of local communities. Building on the emerging body of research around the connection between faith and health, this role will take the lead at a national level influencing, shaping and convening partners to unlock and unleash the significant resources of faith groups in contributing towards holistic healthcare delivered within the community.
The purpose of this role is to lead and co-ordinate NASP’s national work on social prescribing with partners across the faith sector and enable a better understanding of how to work effectively with faith communities through social prescribing, and the role that faith and belief plays in supporting good health and wellbeing. Working as part of the Development Team, to plan and execute effective fundraising strategies for Derby Theatre. The role will have a particular focus on copywriting for trusts and foundations, cultivating donor relationships and coordinating and developing Derby Theatres’ Friends scheme. The Development Officer will also deputise for the Head of Development as required.
Key responsibilities
Trusts and Foundations
· Conduct research into possible funding streams for funding priorities.
· Assist in the production of funding reports for existing supporters.
· Update the reporting schedule, to include deadlines.
· Draft applications for small grants (under £15,000) and support the Head of Development in making applications for large grants.

Individual Giving, including Friends Scheme

- Organise, manage and attend supporters’ evenings including liaising with front of house and catering staff, and managing the guest list.

· Support the development and executive teams by preparing briefing notes, and research profiles for the fundraising activity.

About The Hub and Short Breaks service:
For over 20 years Norwood has run a Short Break service called Unity for young people on Sundays and during school holidays. Many families have benefited from this service, and it remains popular with families and local authority commissioners. There is a waiting list of children and young people across Barnet and Herts who wish to access this provision.
That’s why as part of our recently launched strategy, we’re expanding the Short Break Service offering, to support families and young people with a variety of choice and cohort-based opportunities including after school clubs. The opening of the Hub allows the expansion of activities throughout the week, term-time, and during school holidays, evenings and weekends.
With a recent refurbishment, we can now offer a location dedicated to supporting children throughout the week. The building has outdoor space, a sensory room, kitchen, activity rooms and multipurpose spaces which allow children the opportunity to thrive in a bespoke space for them.
The Children and Family Service Department will deliver an ambitious Whole Family Centred, Strengths and Needs Based Model to empower children, young people, and their families. This expert-led coordinated approach underpinned by robust governance and outcome and impact measures will seek to ensure families with a neurodivergent or neurodevelopmentally disabled child can realise their full potential and thrive. The objectives for each team member will be clear, ensuring a meaningful and positive impact on those accessing the services, with consistency in support and communications, and the ability to access services required effectively.
About the role:
This is one of a number of new vacancies being recruited as part of a dedicated team for the further development of the Hub and Short Breaks offering to extend the reach to more children and young people throughout the week.
As the Hub and Short Breaks Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the service, plus take the lead in the growth and development of the service to maximize the reach and opportunities for young people within the community. Essential skills and experience:
- Ability to commit to a full-time role with flexibility, covering the shifts required

The Support and Connect service is delivered in partnership with MIND in Camden, within the NHS Core Team.
