•To build relationships with health and childcare professionals working with families and babies vulnerable to sudden infant death in order to reach and engage those families with advice and support.

•To proactively build and maintain partnerships with relevant organisations particularly those who work with vulnerable families to co-produce and collaborate in developing resources and programmes to reduce infant mortality.

•To build relationships with local professionals in order to support local campaigns to reduce SIDS deaths, sleep related accidents and infections in babies.

•To ensure the Lullaby Trust’s work reflects the public health agenda across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

•To work with the Policy and Research Manager reviewing external health and social documents/policy.

Design and deliver training

•To be lead the Training Team Working Group and chair meetings.

•To lead and work to deliver the training strategy by creating and promoting evidence-based online training packages aligned with public health priorities to a range of professionals working with families and babies vulnerable to sudden infant death which enables confidence to have meaningful conversations with families. 

•Plan, develop and record online webinars and presentations for families and babies vulnerable to sudden infant death and on bereavement support in line with the Training Strategy

•Use national and local data to create and deliver training packages which is responsive to need, SUDI and safeguarding reports and investigations and CDOP themes.

•To meet and liaise with outside organisations to deliver showcase training packages.

•To ensure training is evaluated and adapted/developed

•To work with engagement team to ensure training is promoted.

Create and assist with development of online and printed information resources particularly aimed at those vulnerable to sudden infant death.  

•Assist with checking accuracy of safer sleep info posts on social media and -participating in Q&As.

•Create resources specifically aimed at families and babies vulnerable to sudden infant death.

•Develop resources and tools for professionals working with families to have meaningful conversations and support safer sleep messaging.

•Develop resources for professionals that translate evidence and research into good standards of practice.

•Review and update website text and social media messages on safer sleep in conjunction with the engagement team.

Proactively engage families with Lullaby Trust advice, responding to enquiries and ensuring anyone seeking advice is given a high-quality service in a timely way

•Manage the cover and answer information enquiries including helpline and online, on safer sleep responding within the set guidelines and KPIs for the department.

•Manage and facilitate the Young Parent Panel and New Families Panel in collaboration with other specialist organisations and charities; keeping in contact, recruiting new members, arranging meetings, focus groups and user testing and feedback on resources and activities.

•To be a representative for media work promoting safer sleep advice, including radio, tv, pre-recorded and live media.

•Work with other teams to reach more families including on projects focussing on high risk groups and under-represented families.

•Ensure any safeguarding concerns are actioned in accordance with the organisation’s Safeguarding Policy.

To manage and supervise the Support and Training Officer and the Training Development Officer

•To supervise and set priorities for the Support and Training Officer, following Lullaby Trust processes.

•To provide regular support and supervision to the Support and Training Officer.

•To attend regular meetings of the Lullaby Trust Management Team.

•Deputise for Support and Information Team when needed.

Any other work which relates to the Lullaby Trust’s strategic objectives

•To participate in training and events with colleagues on a regular basis.

•To work with the relevant departments in the organisation to deliver and implement the organisations strategy

•To keep abreast of external research on SIDS and related fields.

For over 21 years, The Pickering Cancer Drop-In Centre has offered free, holistic support to anyone in our community affected by cancer through complementary therapies, talking therapies, art, and our supportive community.

In 2025 alone, we had 1,911 individual visits and 1,021 therapy sessions - entirely through the dedication of our volunteer team. We are currently renovating our new centre, and we want to use it to reach further into our community than ever before. This is the first paid role in our history.

About the Role

As our first Executive Director, you will be the single point of accountability between our Board of Trustees and the day-to-day operation of the Centre - working alongside our (voluntary) Centre Manager and (voluntary) Volunteer Manager to support their roles, not duplicate them. You'll lead our strategy delivery, guide the charity's move into its new home, and oversee a service redesign informed by a fresh programme of visitor, volunteer and community research.

About You

You already know how to do this job - you've held a senior, accountable position in a charity or comparable organisation and can bring that experience from day one. You're confident reporting to a board of trustees, comfortable getting things done, and able to win the trust of a highly experienced, long-standing volunteer team through competence and credibility, not authority alone.

• Financial management – budgeting, financial controls, and reporting to the Board and Treasurer

• Governance & best practice – supporting trustees to discharge their statutory duties; maintaining the policy suite and risk register

● Support the operation of Foodbank’s Welcome Centres and  voucher system – helping develop good-practice, train volunteers, resolve issues and ensure a welcoming service.

● Support the inclusion and development of those with lived experience of food poverty, identifying skills and talents and encouraging their contribution in Foodbank services.

The Cathedral Safeguarding Officer (CSO) is a Liverpool Diocesan employee who is responsible for leading and promoting safeguarding across Liverpool Cathedral, ensuring that safeguarding is embedded throughout its ministry, governance and operations. Working closely with the Dean, clergy, staff and volunteers, the postholder will provide both safeguarding leadership and practical support to foster a culture in which safeguarding is understood by all as a shared responsibility, and the welfare of children, young people and adults remains central to Cathedral life. The postholder will be an active and visible presence within Liverpool Cathedral, working closely alongside the Dean, Cathedral leadership, clergy, staff and volunteers to build effective working relationships and embed safeguarding throughout Cathedral life, while maintaining strong professional links with the Diocesan Safeguarding Team.

Working collaboratively across the Cathedral, the CSO will help ensure that safeguarding policies, procedures and governance arrangements are effectively implemented, monitored and continuously improved. The postholder will maintain robust safeguarding records and oversight of safeguarding data, using information and trends to inform team decision-making, monitor risk, identify emerging safeguarding issues and support the ongoing development of policy, practice and organisational learning. They will maintain strong partnerships with statutory agencies, partner organisations and the Diocesan Safeguarding Team (DST).

The CSO will provide professional safeguarding advice and guidance, support the development of safer working practices, deliver safeguarding learning and development opportunities, and assist with the identification, assessment, and management of safeguarding risks. The Opportunity:

This is a dual-remit role combining ownership of our office environment with high quality support to our Core group.  The Core group is the c.40-person team that brings together the firm’s central support services

The successful candidate will be the person who keeps our single-floor, c.60-desk open plan office running smoothly day-to-day, and who provides reliable ‘EA-type’ support to the CFOO and the heads of the Core group’s sub-teams.  The role is fundamentally service-orientated: you will be the first person colleagues and visitors turn to, and your standards will set the tone for how the Core group serves the organisation.

This is a varied, high-trust role for someone who wants to be the person that makes things work and who has a desire to provide service that delights. It is a fully on-site role based at our Old Street office, five days a week – and that’s by design. As the person responsible for our workplace experience, your presence is what makes the difference. What you will do:

Office Management

• Act as the day-to-day owner of our leased office floor, ensuring it is safe, welcoming, well-presented and fully operational at all times.

• Manage the relationship with the landlord and building management on all matters relating to the premises, including access, maintenance, repairs and building-wide communications.

• Manage relationships with our sub-lease tenants.

• Manage relationships with office-related suppliers (cleaners, maintenance contractors, security, plants and caterers) including contract renewals and service level monitoring.

What you will bring - Qualifications & Experience:

Essential
