Right now, musicians need our help more than ever with concerts cancelled for the foreseeable future musicians right across the UK need help with hardship funding; health and welfare services and business support.

Join us and help make a real difference to the lives of musicians!

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our London team in a Health and Welfare Officer role, in which you will be providing person-centred support and assistance to musicians based throughout the U.K. You would ordinarily conduct home visits throughout the U.K. to musicians requesting support; these visits are currently being carried out via Zoom/phone call, due to Covid-19. In addition, you will assess initial applications for assistance and reports from a team of Regional Visitors, and make executive decisions about what support Help Musicians can offer in respect to individual cases.

You will also be responsible for making grant decisions of up to £1,000, in line with the Health and Welfare team policy. Working closely with the Acting Health and Welfare Manager, you will be responsible for administering our Regional Visiting Service.

The role is offered on a fixed-term basis until end of July next year, in order to cover the need for an additional Officer due to a secondment in the team.

About You

To be successful in the role, you will need experience of:

  • Working in the health and social care sector

  • Conducting home visits and/or assessments for individuals requesting support

  • Managing a large caseload

  • Assessing financial need and offering grants to support individuals

  • Assessing initial applications and making decisions about support packages

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of the health and welfare systems

  • A full U.K Driver’s license is desirable due to a large portion of the role involving travel across the U.K. (subject to Coronavirus restrictions and current ways of working; currently we are conducting visits by phone and Zoom).

  • A good knowledge and understanding of the music industry

This is a fantastic opportunity to join us at an exciting time leading up to our centenary in 2021, to help us achieve our ambitions to provide more support and reach more people than ever before.
