This is an exciting opportunity to join Solace’s Counselling Team.
About the role
The successful candidate will provide a wrap around, weekly one to one therapeutic support, which can be accessed online, over the phone and in person. You will work within a modal that consists of trauma focused, multi-modal interventions with an objective of optimising resilience, facilitating sustainable recovery and support survivors in their journey in post-traumatic recovery.
Who are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified dynamic counsellor who has 150 clinical hours, ideally with prior experience in providing direct and dedicated therapeutic support to women (and all genders for LBI counselling) who have experienced domestic abuse, and other forms of VAWG.

We are looking for trainee volunteer advisers to join our advice team to support people across Ashford, Kent
You will be trained to give advice to clients across channels including face-to-face and telephone.
Volunteers make up around 75% of our workforce. We would not be able to provide such a vital free advice service without them.
What will you do?
• complete an introduction to Ashford Borough Citizens Advice and training for your role
• talk to clients over the phone, face to face, or online to explore what problems they've come for help with
• find information about the clients' problems and help them to understand their options
• support clients to take action to resolve their problems. This might include drafting or writing letters, making phone calls, or referring the client to another organisation
• write a summary of the clients' problems and what action you've taken
• look out for problems' that are common, or are unfair, and write a short report about the problem or a letter to an elected official like an MP, AM or local councillor

Can you spare 3 hours or more a week to help us provide a confidential helpline for people with mild to moderate mental health problems, drug or alcohol problems? You will be part of a dynamic team of volunteers.
We answer calls predominantly from people in Surrey from 9 am to 7pm Monday to Friday:
- Providing listening and emotional support that is confidential.
- We are non judgemental and signpost to other agencies.
- Refer callers into treatment services.
No qualifications are needed as full training will be provided, but you will need a friendly and calm telephone manner with the ability to communicate effectively. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds.
Our next training course is taking place online on 20th April and 27th April 2024.

All our Benefits Advocates play an integral role within our Information and Advice team and last year helped us to identify over £2.5 million in unclaimed welfare benefits entitlement for older people in the county. This money is life changing for our clients; improving quality of life and wellbeing, and supporting local services
We are looking for volunteers who are patient, sensitive and reliable, to assist older people to complete benefit forms such as Attendance Allowance. Appointments are usually in the older person's own home but can sometimes take place over the telephone. Full training and ongoing support are provided by our friendly and knowledgeable team.
Our volunteers will also raise awareness of and promote Age UK Devon services to clients, and record details of any other queries or concerns so that our Advisors can follow up with clients.

• Depending upon agreed actions, Panellists may be asked to dedicate some time to activities within the community, or for the charity outside of the meetings.
• Should exceptional circumstances arise, there may be a need for additional meetings, but this will be a rare occurrence.
• A chair and vice-chair will be elected by the members every 3 years and holders may serve a maximum of 6 years in total in either role.

You will be given a basic induction to the Charity and some basic compliance training to allow you to undertake your role.

Client Support volunteer-Burnley
You will be an invaluable part of the team supporting the Shelter Lancashire hub team deliver frontline services in Burnley and in local community settings. This volunteer role is about developing your knowledge and skills to support local people with a range of benefit, debt and housing issues, providing practical support for clients and helping people to help themselves. You will gain experience of volunteering within a recognised national housing charity, while supporting your local community.

As a client support volunteer your activity could involve phone, online, email and face to face contact (as appropriate) to clients needing help and guidance around a range of housing, benefit and debt issues. This role supports our specialist advice and community work and enables us to offer and deliver a broader range of help to the local community. Range of activities
- Meeting and greeting clients contacting the service;

As a Criminal Justice Dependency & Recovery Volunteer, you will work closely with Dependency and Recovery Coordinators to deliver a range of tailored activities to adult males who are on probation.
Assistingin delivering psychosocial interventions which address drug, alcohol addictions and offending behaviour. You will besupporting the person on probation to achieve their goals around their substance misuse and offending behaviour.
As a Change Grow Live volunteer you will join a supportive team and receive comprehensive training, and guidance to help you to develop in the role. This is an exciting opportunity where you will be making a real difference to the lives of others and gain experience of working with the Dependency and Recovery Project, and Prison and Probation field.
Key Activities:
· Support the D&R Coordinator to deliver recovery focused interventions including drug, alcohol and harm minimisation, offending behaviour, consequential thinking and developing positive coping strategies
· Support in key-working and group sessions
· Work in partnership with and build professional relationships with external organisations, e.g. Probation, Prison and Recovery Services
· Build therapeutic relationships with the people we support
· Empower the people we support to achieve their ‘Action Plan’ goals
· Motivate the people we support to engage in recovery activities within Change Grow Live, Probation and the wider community
· Research and signpost the people we support to Asset Based Community Services e.g. food banks, mental health services, housing, mutual aid
· Remind and empower the people we support to attend appointments and groups
· Input data on to IT systems
· Support the D&R Coordinator at events to promote and provide information about the D&R service
· Collect and collate feedback from the people we support using our services

We have a new volunteer opportunity based at Coventry Probation Office supporting the Change Grow Live Dependency & Recovery team. You will be making a real difference to the lives of others and gaining experience of working with the Dependency & Recovery service and the Prison and Probation service.
We are looking for motivated people who have an understanding of the issues faced by the people we support. You'll be passionate about supporting people to change the direction of their lives, grow as individuals, and live life to its full potential.

Role Description
The Volunteer Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of meals in our kitchen. This includes following recipes, ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are met, and adapting menus to meet dietary requirements as needed. In this role, you’ll work as part of a team to ensure the smooth preparation of lunch for approximately 30-40 visitors at our centre, who have a variety of dietary needs. This role requires a commitment of 3 months.
Lunch preparation starts at 9:45am and lunch is served at 12pm on Mondays and Thursdays.
Person Specification
Essential
- Ability to work efficiently as part of a team.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Willingness to adapt to changing menus and kitchen needs
- Familiarity with food hygiene and safety regulations (preferred but training will be provided)
Desirable
- Experience as a cook in a similar environment
- Experience working or volunteering with refugees or asylum seekers
