Disability Advice Service Lambeth (dasl) is Lambeth’s peer-led Disabled People’s Organisation. 

You will lead a two-year project contributing to the work of the No Wrong Door partnership – local organisations and local residents working together to ensure there is ‘No Wrong Door’ for Black Disabled people seeking employment, as they can expect excellent support from any organisation. 

We want to change the system, influencing employment support providers and their Commissioners to ensure support for Black Disabled people who are seeking employment is appropriate, accessible and inclusive.

You will have excellent project management skills and use your lived, personal experience of race and disability equity issues to implement change, working collaboratively with residents (Lived Experience Leads), partner organisations and employment support providers. Your role will involve working primarily with Black Disabled Lambeth residents. The project was initially funded to respond to an urgent need for specialist legal advice to assist with asylum questionnaires and has since expanded to support with a range of different advice issues including reinstatement of asylum claims, Asylum Support challenges and appeals work.

The purpose of the Mental Wellbeing Coordinator role is to manage and lead the development and delivery of peer support services via our Grassroot organisation partners in the Mental wellbeing programme addressing health inequalities in the borough of Haringey including managing and supporting our Grassroot organisations to deliver 1-2-1 wellbeing activities a week for their respective communities.

This Mental wellbeing coordinator role is part of the Haringey mental wellbeing programme, which is community based mental wellbeing support service, supporting individuals with moderate mental health problems. This role will also include outreach into the community working alongside the Grassroots organisations to ensure the successful delivery of these weekly wellbeing activities. The Mental Wellbeing Coordinator is to ensure that all services are delivered together in a seamless manner to support service members across the borough.

Job Purpose

This role sits within our new Men’s Minds project, based in Hounslow. The aim of the service is to improve men’s mental health outcomes by developing a mental health network supported and directed by the voices of its members.

This will be achieved through three service strands: 1) Peer support network, 2) Psychoeducation workshops, addressing common needs of men’s mental health 3) Outreach support to raise awareness of men’s mental health and promote this service.

The Men’s Minds Project Coordinator will work closely with the members in shaping the service and ensuring voices of men in Hounslow are heard and acted upon. This service will be staffed with 1 part-time (25hrs per week) Project Coordinator and a pool of peer led volunteers. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the volunteers.

The Role

The role of the Men’s Minds Project Coordinator is to arrange and coordinate a range of psychoeducation, and peer-led workshops which will be delivered weekly. With the addition of attending various community and stakeholder events to deliver the outreach strand of the service.

• Ensure grant holders have effective M&E plans in place and coordinate the review of their reports.

• Facilitate learning and sharing of good practices across programmes and the wider organisation.

Team Support and Line Management

• Line manage members of the Programmes Team (1-2 Programmes Coordinators).
• Oversee the contracting, payments and deliverables of in-country consultants and other suppliers.
• Lead the induction process for new Programmes Team members and other THET staff when required.
• Work with colleagues from across the team to identify areas for improvement and strengthening.

Miscellaneous

• Attend and present THET’s work at UK and international events, including the THET annual conference.

Home-Start Southwark works with families who are pregnant or have children under 5. Our core work is to provide weekly support from a trained peer volunteer or worker empowering families to make changes to improve their lives. The way we support families continues to have relationships at its core – we believe, and our work proves, that the confidence and resilience gained by having someone standing alongside you offering encouragement and support, can make a huge difference to parents and children. Being a parent is difficult regardless of circumstances and many of our families are facing several additional challenges.

Main Purpose:

• Work closely with the Chief Executive to develop and evolve Home-Start’s services in response to changing needs, informing the strategy for our family support and development of services.
• Provide vision, direction, and leadership to motivate staff and volunteers to deliver high-quality services that make a measurable positive difference to children and their families.
• Manage the HSS Family Support Team, coordinating and quality assuring their work.
• Collaborate with multi-agency partners to deliver evidence-based interventions that support parenting and prevent need escalating, including structured programmes and group work.
• Be a Designated Safeguarding Lead for the charity.
