We are looking for a Fundraising Officer to lead the administration of CCT’s tiered membership programmes, annual and church-based appeals, legacies, and fundraising events. The Fundraising Officer will also support in the creation of marketing materials to support these initiatives.
Following the growth in audience development through online events and digital activity, CCT welcomed younger and international members and increased the number of donations. We have since witnessed decreased retention rates and are looking to implement methods to increase member and donor acquisition and retention.
The role of the Fundraising Officer is vital to maintaining excellent service delivery across our core fundraising programmes and providing strong supporter care.
This role will support the organisational-wide aim to build a collaborative fundraising culture and ensure CCT’s buildings at risk are sustained for the appreciation and benefit of future generations.

Introduction
The Prison Reform Trust (PRT) was founded in 1981 to inform public debate and improve prison conditions and the treatment of prisoners, amidst concerns about a projected prison population of 48,000 by 1984. Fast forward to today, the prison population in England and Wales is almost 87,000 and is projected to rise to 106,300 by March 2027. We overuse prison for non-violent and persistent crime, and we choose to send people to prison for a long time, and it continues to grow.
Our mission is clear. We are working to create a just, humane and effective prison system by influencing decision-makers opinion formers and the public to 1) reduce the use of prison; 2) Improve conditions for prisoners and, 3) promote equality and human rights in the criminal justice system.
Income in 2023 was £2.06 million, with most of our income portfolio reliant on trusts and foundations. We have just been through a strategic development period and as a part of that we have uncovered significant untapped potential for philanthropic and relational based income growth. We are now seeking a newly designed, ‘Head of Fundraising and Philanthropy’ to lead the whole fundraising programme, but with a specific focus on developing the philanthropy and corporate programme to take Prison Reform Trust to the next level.
You will be a seasoned relational fundraiser, have entrepreneurial flair, be creative and have the ability to influence at the highest of levels. Overall aim

About the opportunity
Fundraising is critical to delivering our mission and ensuring we can support as many children and young people facing disadvantage to open doors to their future. The Philanthropy Team as a whole has a combined target income for the current year (2023-24) of £1.83 million (growing to £2.35m as our target for next year), of which approximately £850k is from corporate donors and their foundations, £100k is from individuals, and the remaining from trusts and foundations. We are looking for a Fundraising Manager to work within our passionate Philanthropy Team to help grow our fundraised income and develop and maintain an effective, high-quality funding pipeline. Focussing predominantly on eliciting funding from trusts and foundations, and working closely with the Head of Philanthropy, CEO and Corporate Partnerships Manager, the Fundraising Manager will ensure the effective management of existing funder relations and take responsibility for ensuring Action Tutoring meets its reporting obligations. The Responsibilities

Ensure gifts and donor relationship information is accurately recorded, processed, thanked and reported on in a timely and confidential fashion using Raisers Edge and developing a strong relationship with the Giving Team and other internal stakeholders.
• Communicate effectively and accurately with other entity Fundraising Teams. Support and collaborate with wider fundraising opportunities and to attend all relevant fundraising team meetings to have a rounded understanding of what we are trying to achieve in our fundraising across the group.
• Responsible for keeping updated on relevant fundraising and volunteering best practice, regulations and opportunities. Ensuring you undertake the training offered to you, proactively seek out learning opportunities within the third sector and Christian or Corporate philanthropy networks.
• Other ad hoc projects as they arise. Including but not limited to working with our network to facilitate partnership opportunities with Churches and LYN Hubs, being willing to support with advice for developing their local fundraising. Attending and supporting donor events, ongoing research and improving team and wider working practices.
