We’re recruiting four new Trustees to join the Board of the Centre for ADHD & Autism Support (CAAS), a well-established, financially stable charity supporting ADHD and autistic people across NW London.
We’re looking for people who are passionate about inclusion, mental wellbeing, and building a more neuro-affirming community.
You don’t need to have been a trustee before, we’ll support you with a full induction and ongoing training. What matters most is your commitment to our mission and your willingness to contribute to thoughtful, inclusive decision-making.
We’re particularly interested in hearing from people with experience in:
- HR & Legal
- Digital & IT
- Marketing & Communications
- Or lived experience of ADHD or autism
We also hope that one of the new trustees will take on the role of Chair in the future, so if you have leadership experience and are interested in helping guide the Board, we’d love to hear from you.

About CAAS
CAAS provides an Autism and ADHD Support Service across the 8 boroughs of NW London from our base in Eastcote and offices around London. We offer information, advice, and support to ADHD/Autistic people, their families, and professionals, with the aim of improving quality of life and building neurodivergent-aware communities.
We are incredibly fortunate to be in a sound financial position, with income of around £1.7m per year, and around 40 staff. We offer 60 different services, including personalised one2one support, social groups, psycho-education courses and specialist workshops. We also have a thriving training and awareness raising service, providing ADHD and autism training to statutory services, schools and voluntary sector organisations across NW London.
We’ve grown steadily over the last 25 years, and last year we supported more than 9,000 people, across 18,000 attendances. Looking ahead, our priority is making sure everyone who could benefit from CAAS knows we’re here for them. We’re investing in outreach, inclusivity, and accessibility - breaking down barriers so our support reaches every corner of our community.
In this role, you will join the established (and lovely) Board of Trustees, who provide operational governance for the charity, determine its strategic direction, and help shape a positive, sustainable future for CAAS and the communities we serve.
Most importantly, you will be contributing towards our impact intention, which is that ADHD and autistic individuals, and those who support them, have improved mental wellbeing, are better able to engage with home-life, school, or work, and need less support from NHS/statutory services. Ultimately, we want to help people to thrive.
About The Role
Charities like CAAS can only exist with the help of Trustees, and we are hugely grateful to everyone that volunteers to take on this role. We work hard to ensure Trustees are supported effectively to discharge their responsibilities and feel a sense of pride – and of enjoyment – in being a Trustee of CAAS.
Trustees are responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of CAAS, ensuring that the charity delivers its mission effectively, complies with its legal obligations, and remains financially sustainable.
Trustees bring a range of skills, experience, and perspectives to support the organisation’s leadership and development. We are therefore looking for someone who has a passion for what CAAS is trying to achieve and a willingness to commit to attending our meetings and contributing to our discussions. Some Trustees also bring specific skills sets which provide operational expertise, but this is not a requirement in the role.

Key Responsibilities
Governance and Oversight
· Ensure that CAAS complies with its governing document, charity law, and any other relevant legislation or regulations.
· Contribute to the development and approval of the charity’s strategic plans and policies.
· Monitor the performance of the organisation against agreed objectives and outcomes.
· Safeguard the charity’s assets and ensure proper financial oversight.
· Declare any conflicts of interest and ensure they are managed in line with the charity’s policy.
Support and Challenge
· Provide constructive support and challenge to the CEO and senior leadership team.

Commitment
The Board meets 8 times a year, mostly by video call, and Board meetings are usually around 2hrs in length. Once a year we meet for a longer session, in person, to consider strategic items in more depth.
Trustees will be asked to read a few papers in advance of the meeting, which could take 1-2hrs each meeting.
Trustees are also encouraged to engage with the organisation between meetings, for example attending events, meeting staff, or supporting specific initiatives.
Some Trustees may be asked to take on additional responsibility, if they have a particular area of expertise (such as HR, fundraising etc); if so, they may be asked to commit 5-10 hours per year to support with reviewing policies or providing guidance to the management group.
Initial 1-year term, extended by mutual agreement.Trustee Terms are ordinarily for 4 years, and Trustees can be appointed for a 2nd 4-year term if desired.

Kent Community Foundation (KCF) is looking for individuals to join our Board of Trustees who have a real passion for our county and want to make a demonstrable difference to the lives of people in our communities.
KCF is a professional grant-maker and local philanthropy advisor for Kent and Medway. We have been established for 24 years; distributing more than £60 million in grants to voluntary sector organisations across the county; supporting small charities to be sustainable and successful, and helping major donors maximise the impact of their donations.
Trustees are the volunteers who lead charities and decide how they are run; setting strategic plans, monitoring the performance, impact and sustainability of the charity and overseeing its governance. People of any age and background can be a trustee, and we're looking for people with specific experience to help us support communities in Kent. What does ‘NEUROMANCE’ mean?
To NEUROMANCE means to 'fall in love with divergence'.
The mainstream healthcare system fails our community by labelling neurodivergent+ people 'defective' and 'disordered'.
NEUROMANCERS seek to provide an alternative. Instead, we fall in love with divergence. Our traits are neither 'curses' nor 'superpowers'. We are simply people surviving a society that oppresses and excludes us in the best ways we know how.
NEUROMANCERS is here to support you, at whatever stage of the journey you are on - by providing autonomous, abolitionist, and accessible mental health care, by us and for us.
What is ‘neurodivergent’?
Neurodivergent means 'to diverge from the expectations of neuronormativity'. We use the term neurodivergent+ to include those under and adjacent to the neurodivergent umbrella.
NEUROMANCERS work centres neurodivergent individuals, with particular emphasis on those who are also Black and/or LGBTQ+.
We know that many people who are severely impacted by neuronormativity and ableism may not specifically identify as neurodivergent. Therefore, our term neurodivergent+ acknowledges these extended and adjacent groups.

The Administrative & Operational Coordinator Volunteer will provide essential support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations of NEUROMANCERS. This role involves handling administrative tasks, financial coordination, and operational design to improve efficiency across the organization.

The Board of Trustees exists to inspire and guide both the Executive Leadership and the Senior Leadership Team through the application of Choose Love's vision, mission, and core principles, providing inclusive leadership. What is the plan?
The person who is starting the charity up is autistic, has ADHD, CPTSD and also multiple physical conditions that effect daily life and is part of the LGBTQ+ community and has faced a lot of issues in life because of these things.
Living Reasons is being created to fix what we think is a challenging situation that is getting harder to achieve every week, month and year in the current economic, political, environmental and societal landscape. It is not easily defined but we hope the charity objects below will help put context to what we want to achieve, what we can say is that below are the issues we are trying to address, how we do this will change as quickly as society does, but the issues we want to tackle are these:

Could you be the new Chair of CPRE Buckinghamshire (one of the branches of CPRE – the Countryside Charity)? Do you care about your local community and environment?
We have a long and successful history of campaigning on items that matter to the local area – canvassing, prompting and lobbying local authorities, Councillors and MPs. In doing so, we have been able to ensure that the views of the people who depend on, work on and cherish the Buckinghamshire countryside are reflected in local decision-making.
The Chair role will suit someone living in Buckinghamshire or the Milton Keynes area, who has a keen interest in the countryside and is excited by the prospect of helping to direct the future of CPRE Buckinghamshire over the next 5–7 years. It is an exciting time to join our team, as CPRE nationally is celebrating 100 years in 2026; you can be involved in making plans as to how we will celebrate this with the Buckinghamshire community through various events and activities.
You will help to:
- direct our important campaigns, engaging the local community and raising awareness of the issues that the countryside faces
- lead our Trustee board, and recruit new Trustee members
- increase our membership, so that we can continue to do the work we are doing
- expand our team of volunteers, so that we can widen and increase the work that we do
- liaise with stakeholders and partners, and forge new partnerships
- ensure that we as a charity meet our legal requirements, adhering to our governing document, and have the necessary policies and resources
- nurture and shape the future of CPRE Bucks.
We estimate that the time commitment will be around 1 day a week, although this is variable and dependent on activities. You can of course do more if you wish! Our team works and meets remotely most of the time, but occasional travel may be necessary – to attend CPRE Head Office in London, for example.

It is an exciting and challenging time for the international development sector. Vision Action is seeking to appoint two new Trustees, one of whom will serve as Chair Designate, to bring experience, insight, and energy in support of our ambition to increase equitable access to basic eye care services in Ghana, Zambia, and Ethiopia (with plans to expand further).
Vision Action was born in 2022 out of the merger to two charities, Vision for a Nation, an award-winning charity founded by the philanthropist James Chen and operating in Rwanda which developed a unique model for providing basic eye care in under-resourced settings, and Vision Aid Overseas, founded in the 1980s to establish accessible vision centres across Africa. The role of the Board of Trustees is to oversee the direction and activities of the charity, including its policies and procedures, to ensure that they are consistently in accordance with the charitable purposes defined in the objects clause in its Constitution. The Board sets and monitors the strategic direction of the charity, although the implementation of strategy is achieved through the executive team.
Terms of service
For Vision Action the Trustees are Members who have been elected to serve on the Board. Vision Action’s constitution allows for up to 12 Trustees, who can serve a maximum of three consecutive terms of three years. Vision Action is a company limited by guarantee and the Trustees are its legal directors. The Trustee role is voluntary but out of pocket expenses are paid. Trustees are appointed by the Vision Action Board of Trustees annually at the Board meeting following the Annual General Meeting. The time commitment in being a trustee involves attendance at four Board meetings per year, one of which will be an all-day strategy session. Otherwise, Board meetings are usually half a day in the afternoon of a weekday with at least half the meetings online. Papers are circulated for reading in advance. There may be other ad-hoc meetings or online events to discuss specific topics.
Main tasks
Charity Trustees have and must accept ultimate responsibility for directing the affairs of the charity and ensuring it is solvent, well-run and delivering the charitable outcomes for the benefit of the public for which it has been set up. Each Trustee will be expected to join one of the two sub-committees (Finance and Fundraising; and Programmes and Research). The Committees meet remotely at least four times per year, usually timed with or in advance of the board meetings.
General Responsibilities
- Ensure that Vision Action complies with its governing document (i.e. its Constitution and Bylaws), charity law, and any other relevant legislation or regulations.
- Ensure that Vision Action pursues its objects as defined in its governing document.
- Ensure Vision Action applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its objects, i.e. it must not spend money on activities which are not included in the objects, however worthwhile they may be.
- Contribute actively to the Board’s role in the formulation and review of strategy, setting overall policy, defining goals, setting targets and evaluating performance against agreed targets.
- Ensure that all policies are implemented, monitored and reports are acted upon, (including the policies on Harassment and Misconduct, Safeguarding, Recruitment, Child Protection and Anti- Bribery).
- Appoint and support the Co-Chief Executive Officers and monitor their performance.
Additional Specific Responsibilities
In addition to the above, we are looking for a Trustee who can be the Chair Designate and assume the role of Chair in December 2025.

While not essential, experience in the following areas would be an advantage:

1. Terms of Service.
The Chair is appointed by the Board annually for a maximum of 3 consecutive terms. He/she will normally assume his/her appointment at the Board meeting following the AGM in November.
2. Main Tasks:
- To lead the Board in ensuring it fulfils its responsibilities for the governance of Vision Action.
- To ensure the Trustees set and regularly review policy, overall strategy and objectives.
- To undertake a supportive role in achieving Vision Action’s funding target.
- To guide the Co-Chief Executives, to help achieve Vision Action’s objectives.
- To monitor approved strategies and business plans.
3. Specific Duties relating to:
3.1 Ensuring the Board fulfils its responsibilities for the governance of Vision Action:
- To chair meetings of the Board, seeing that it functions effectively and carries out its duties.
- To ensure the Board works within the framework of law, Charity Commission guidelines and management best practice.
- To ensure that the policies of the Board are compliant with its charity objectives.
- To ensure the Trustees set overall strategy and policy objectives and regularly review them.
- In conjunction with the Treasurer, to ensure Vision Action’s financial dealings are prudently and systematically accounted for in compliance with legal requirements.
- Make recommendations on the composition of the Board, with a view to succession, and future Chair.
- To serve as an additional spokesman for, and promoter of Vision Action (Note: The Co-Chief Executives act as the primary spokespeople)
3.2 To ensure Trustees develop overall strategy and policy objectives and regularly review them:
- To incorporate the skills and experience of the trustees and the Co-Chief Executives’ team in the development of strategic objectives and planning processes.
- Identify with the Co-Chief Executives, clear objectives and key performance indicators
3.3 Helping the Co-Chief Executives achieve Vision Action’s mission:
- The Chair should always adopt an attitude of strategic overview and avoid becoming immersed in the day-to- day details of running Vision Action. Such matters are the responsibility of the Co-Chief Executives.
- To support and monitor the work of the Co-Chief Executives.
- To assist in the promotion of Vision Action to a wider audience of potential donors and beneficiaries.
- To undertake a supportive role in achieving Vision Action’s fundraising target.
3.4 Optimising the relationship between the Board, staff, volunteers and other stakeholders:
- In consultation with the Co-Chief Executives, to agree the annual calendar of Board meetings and major events involving Vision Action.
- To thank and encourage Vision Action volunteers, staff and other stakeholders as opportunities present themselves.
- To conduct the annual appraisal of the Co-Chief Executives and agree their annual objectives and performance measures.

Parents Journey UK
After seeing a gap in support for parents of children of “all ages, all stages” of childhood, we are developing a group to become a Registered Charity, Parents Journey UK.
Parenting is rewarding but doesn’t get easier: the challenges just change.
So why should parental support from groups and charities stop once your child has entered school, or enters their teenage years?
While many organisations focus on the earliest stages of parenthood, Parents Journey UK aims to also support parents well beyond those toddler years, whether that be coffee mornings for new parents or social evenings for parents of teenagers. We aim to provide ongoing support through a variety of face-to-face meets and online, with the support of local professionals.
To develop our idea further and start the formal process of Registering a Charity, we are looking for volunteers to become our first trustees.
If you have interest, experience or skills in any of the following, we want to talk with you; and if you don’t have much experience but enthusiasm about this idea, we really want to talk with you:
- Leading our group’s meetings and ensuring they are effective; coordinating the trustees’ group – you could be the Chair of our new charity.
- Coordinating our group’s money, keeping records of finances; ensuring the group complies with our financial rules – you could be the Treasurer of our new charity.
- Keeping accurate administrative records; communicating with other trustees; acting as the backbone of our group – you could be the Secretary of our new charity.
You don’t necessarily need to have done any of these voluntary roles before, as the tasks are easy-enough to learn, and in the early days of forming our charity, will be focused on Registration (and we have assistance with that process). At the same time, as trustees you will be primary in deciding and forming what this new charity does and how it does that. Because of the legal type of charity we are forming, you will not be held liable for the charity’s finances, but expected to take good care of those and of the charity’s activities; training and explanations of trustees’ duties will be provided.
Your skills & abilities that will help us:
- A strong commitment to Parents Journey UK idea, mission and values
- Good communication and teamwork
- Contribution to our strategic thinking and decision-making
- Some knowledge and abilities in social media and marketing would be helpful
