Reprieve is a leading international human rights organisation. Our aim is simple: to consign the death penalty and abuses carried out in the name of “counter-terrorism” or “national security” to history, drawing public and political attention to these past harms with a view to preventing them from occurring again.
In our view, you can best judge a society by how it treats prisoners, criminal defendants, and the far-flung targets of an ever-changing counter-terror policy. Reprieve’s staff is made up of courageous and committed human rights defenders. Founded in 1999, we provide free legal and investigative support to people facing the death penalty and those victimised by states’ abusive counter-terror policies – rendition, torture, arbitrary detention and extrajudicial killing.
We fight our clients’ cases in courts around the world; investigate their mistreatment; and advocate on their behalf, encouraging public and political debate of human rights issues.
Reprieve’s main office is in London, UK. Reprieve also supports full-time Fellows, who work as lawyers, investigators and campaigners in the countries in which we work. We work closely with a number of partner organisations in jurisdictions all over the world, who provide access to clients, expertise, knowledge and guidance on specific issues or regions. We work in cooperation with relevant government officials, individual lawyers and human rights defenders, as well as individual, corporate and foundation funders to further the cause of our shared goals.
Reprieve works in close partnership with its independent sibling organisation Reprieve US. This collaboration is mutually beneficial to both Reprieve and Reprieve US as it enables each organisation to work more effectively and take advantage of the strategic locations to increase the impact of our work.
About the Role
Our work would not be possible without the highest levels of governance provided by our Board of Trustees and its Chair.
The Board meets four times a year (normally January, May, July and October). Two Board meetings are in person, and we ask that the Chair attends other events when they can to meet staff and other key stakeholders, including donors.
Day-to-day management of Reprieve is provided by the Senior Management Team.
About You
Our new Chair will be passionate about our vision and mission and will be able to bring inclusive and knowledgeable insight to the Board and the Executive. They will have a keen sense of strategic purpose and an inclusive leadership style that inspires and supports other Trustees, the Executive, staff and key stakeholders to participate. They will be comfortable with challenge and debate and able to encourage that in others whilst fostering a collaborative Board environment. They will be able and willing to act as a figurehead and ambassador, and champion Reprieve’s work through personal networks, social media (if appropriate), and other channels.
They will be willing to lead according to Reprieve’s values and have a passion for seeking justice for the victims of extreme human rights abuses. Responsibilities
Your main duties will include:
- Leading the Board in ensuring that it fulfils its responsibilities for the governance of Reprieve
- Chairing and facilitating Board meetings including giving direction to board policy-making and ensuring that decisions taken at meetings are implemented
- With the Executive Director:
- Planning the annual cycle of Board meetings
- Setting agendas for Board meetings
- Developing the Board of trustees including induction, training, appraisal and succession planning
- Addressing conflict within the Board and within Reprieve, and liaising with the Executive to achieve this
- Liaising with the Executive Director to keep an overview of the organisation’s affairs and to provide support as appropriate
- Being an ambassador and figurehead for Reprieve.

Citizens Advice Merton and Lambeth (CAML) is a local charity dedicated to providing information, support and advice to individuals and families who live, work or study in Merton or Lambeth. We also work to raise awareness and understanding of the challenging issues affecting our clients and communities.
Aim of this role
Assessor volunteers support the drop-in sessions in our offices and outreach. They discuss with clients the issues they have come to us for help with. After this (and with full support from the supervisor), assessors discuss next steps and actions with the client to help resolve their issues.
As an Assessor, you will be a part of the service delivery. You will:
· Complete an induction to Citizens Advice and training for your role
· Help with the drop-in sessions
· Complete full assessments with our clients, following CAML processes and procedures
· Record a summary of your interactions with clients in our Case Management System and consult with the Supervisor on the day regarding the relevant next steps
· Be part of a friendly and supportive charity team
· Develop transferable skills for employment, training or other volunteering opportunities
· Have an opportunity to progress with your training and develop adviser knowledge of some of our key enquiry areas.
Locations
We need Assessors in our main offices in Kennington, Morden and Mitcham and different outreach locations in Merton and Lambeth. All three offices are well-connected to public transport, and the office in Mitcham has a car park.

Our offices are open to the public from 9.30am to 3pm, five days a week. Our volunteers are typically with us for at least one day per week in office. Ideally we ask for a commitment to volunteer with CAML for at least 9 months.

Little Village is a baby bank: a simple idea with a big impact on the lives of families living in poverty in London. Our work is vital: more than one in three children in the capital live in poverty, with profound impacts from educational disadvantage to reduced life expectancy. We invite community donations of pre-loved baby and children’s items, passing them onto families who need them and saving them from landfill. Meanwhile, our guidance and signposting service provides tailored, one-to-one support, delivered with warmth and understanding.
Families either visit a Little Village hub, or items are packed with care and delivered to their home. But it doesn’t stop there. We also connect families into a wider network of support, helping them to build and extend their own ‘village’.
Thanks to the generous donations of loved items, precious time and money, in 2023 Little Village was able to support more than 8500 children. But the demand for help still outstripped our capacity to respond week on week. This role will play a crucial part in helping us to ensure stock is where it needs to be in order to reach more children with the things they need.

We’re looking for a qualified accountant who can:

Key tasks
- Identify all interpretation needs by both conference delegates and language interpreters for all elements of the conference: main plenary sessions, some breakouts sessions, social spaces, and interactive zones.

We are seeking an experienced sound designer to lead the planning, setup, and operation of all audio elements of the 44th World Scout Conference, which is taking place at London Olympia from Monday 29th November to Friday 3rd December 2027 (with 2 days set-up and 1 day de-rig either side), to ensure an outstanding integrated experience for both in-person and online participants.
This is a key role in our team, combining technical sound design with strategic thinking around user experience and accessibility — across both physical and digital platforms.
With around 1600 delegates expected from across the globe, this high-profile international gathering demands a seamless, accessible, and engaging hybrid experience that embodies the values of World Scouting while using the best of modern event technology.
Please note, while this is a volunteer role, there will be some associated personal cost during the conference period for example, for transport and accommodation.
Key tasks
- Develop a detailed sound design plan including speaker placement, microphone needs, playback systems, and redundancy planning.
- Liaise with the selected AV supplier and venue technical staff to ensure all onsite equipment and infrastructure is appropriate for our needs and ready.
- Support live-streaming and recording requirements, including multitrack recording or feed splitting, as required.
- Oversee the rigging, setup, and testing of audio systems.
- Coordinate live sound during the conference plenaries.
- Coordinate audio support for breakout sessions and ancillary spaces as required.
- Work with the Team Leader to ensure that all elements are provided within the allocated budget, ensuring accurate forecasting and cost control.
- Identify opportunities to streamline services or combine resources with other operational areas to stay within financial parameters.
- Act as the point of contact for audio coordination & delivery for all sound systems.
- Manage event technical crew members: voluntary and contracted

About the role
We are looking for a culturally aware and detail-driven Catering Lead to oversee all aspects of food and beverage delivery, ensuring an inclusive, high-quality, and logistically seamless experience for participants and event team members with diverse dietary, cultural, and religious needs.
Working closely with Olympia London’s in-house catering and the wider conference delivery team, you will design and manage a catering plan that reflects global diversity, sustainability, and hospitality excellence during the five days of the World Scout Conference, including a welcome/opening evening reception and informal dinner and closing celebrations formal dinner.
This is a strategic and delivery-focused role, requiring an understanding of the practicalities of delivering an effective catering approach that meets the needs and requirements of all delegates and event team members attending the World Scout Conference in 2027, which will take place at Olympia from Monday 29th November to Friday 3rd December (with 2 days set-up and 1 day de-rig either side).

This is a key role in our delivery team, combining excellent catering knowledge for large scale events with a diverse audience with strategic thinking around user experience and accessibility.

Key tasks
- Develop a comprehensive delegate catering strategy, including daily lunches, mid-morning tea and afternoon coffee breaks, receptions and side events (as needed), event team catering, and VIP functions (as needed).
- Plan service layouts and crowd flow to handle large numbers smoothly and reduce wait times.
- Collaborate to develop menus that are culturally appropriate, nutritionally balanced, and globally inclusive, suitable for delegates representing over 170 countries.
- Champion variety and cultural sensitivity, including religious food customs/observations.
- Contribute to setting up a robust system to collect and manage dietary requirements in advance.
- Ensure strict allergen management and compliance with food safety regulations.
- Oversee catering delivery on-site, managing schedule adherence, quality control, signage, delegate experience, and issue resolution.
- Ensure the catering plan aligns with the event’s sustainability goals.
- Identify opportunities to streamline services or combine resources with other operational areas to stay within financial parameters.
