Youth Leaders work directly with young people in St John Ambulance Badger Setts and Cadet Units. By organising a mixed weekly programme, this role will support the learning and development of young people into the next generation of health citizens. Youth Leaders also help young people develop their confidence, teamwork skills, self-discipline, and generally encourage them to strive to be the best they can be, as well as supervise and support other adult volunteers in their team.

Although half the population experiences a menstrual cycle, the stark contrast in the different realities of girls and women is very real and through storytelling we aim to educate and provide relatable content.

Through sharing stories from girls and women focused on their common humanities. Even though our realities might be very different depending on many factors (physical, geographical, socio-economical, mental etc.) we all share a lot of the same questions, worries, dreams, anxieties, ambitious etc. Making these stories relatable and accessible will educate and inspire and create a movement of girls and women being able to first and foremost understand their own cycle, in order to be kind to themselves.

Podcast Associate

About the role

The Podcast Associate will support the development and delivery of Period Reality’s brand new podcast series exploring menstrual health, gender equity and wellbeing.
You’ll work closely with the Podcast Hosts and the Comms Team to bring each episode to life, from research and planning to editing support and promotion.

What you'll do

• Assist with research and preparation for podcast episodes (topics, guests, key questions and relevant data).
• Support episode scheduling, recording logistics and coordination with guests.
• Help with script outlines, show notes and captions for episode releases.
• Assist with basic audio editing or liaise with editors to ensure smooth production.
• Coordinate with the Comms Team on social media promotion and content snippets.

• Take the lead on designing and running our Neurodiversity inclusivity practices.
• Advise us on how neurodiversity shows up in relation to menstrual health.
• Shape content that speaks to ADHD and mental wellbeing with nuance.
• Suggest tools and resources to make our work more neurodiverse-friendly.

• A therapist, coach, or professional working with neurodiverse people.

This role will take place on a weekly basis for a few hours We will try our best to be flexible around the best time for you, but also need to consider the store opening times and volunteer rota. It could be a weekday or weekend, morning or afternoon, our stores are usually open 7 days a week. We’d appreciate any time that you can spare.

Whilst in the store, you will help with activities based on the needs of the Store Manager.

Tasks you could get up to whilst volunteering could include:

• Serving customers on the till
• Taking stock donations from the public
• Tagging and steaming stock for the shop floor
• Dressing the window displays
• Asking people to join us as a volunteer

Who we are

A community-driven organisation, our mission at Remakery Oxford is to foster a circular economy approach to waste in Oxford. Through creativity, skill-sharing and collaboration, we transform waste into art and function, providing an antidote to fast fashion and single-use culture.

Our focus is to help shift mindsets around sustainability, consumption and top-down mass production.  Through workshops, talks and podcasts, we encourage experimentation, social innovation and education, driving forward the idea that anyone can curate art, function and fashion with minimal planetary impact.

We are seeking a new Chair for the Scottish Workforce Professional Development Board (WPDB). The group has been working for five years to deliver their skills plan for Scotland, and is well established with 12 members from a variety of different stakeholders in Scotland, including employers, education providers and government agencies.

The UK WPDB is the lead on workforce policy, with a vision of growing the attractiveness of working in the sport and physical activity sector and of ensuring that all customers and consumers have a safe and excellent experience.  The Scottish WPDB was established to ensure the successful delivery of UK-wide workforce policy and strategy within Scotland, reflecting the significant differences between each of the home nations in areas such as legal systems, education policy, funding, delivery infrastructure and career pathways.   It has the flexibility to operate in line with the Scottish policies and priorities.

We are looking for an individual who understands the sector’s workforce requirements within Scotland and has an ambitious view for what the future could look like.  You will have a proven ability to drive strategic discussions around workforce policy, and to provide effective leadership to the rest of the Board. 

About us: GT Scholars is a charitable social enterprise that tackles educational inequality by giving ambitious young people the support, skills and strategies they need to achieve aspirations. We run a wide range of programmes that help young people achieve their academic and career aspirations, particularly those from less-privileged backgrounds.
