Our challenge
The Community Fundraising Team is an integral part of The Charity Fundraising Portfolio, with an income target of £3.6 million in 2024/25 and the team consists of Community Fundraisers based across the UK. Our role is to provide fundraising advice and support to our DIY individual fundraisers, Supporter Groups, Community Organisations and Regional Corporates.

How can you help?
We are recruiting a team of Community Fundraising Volunteers to help us engage with our amazing DIY fundraisers through a variety of Social Media channels, including our Regional Facebook Pages. We aim to inspire, motivate and advise our DIY fundraisers via social media to maximise fundraising opportunities across the UK. To do so, we want to be able to engage with our community in an exciting, informative and consistent way. As part of a team of Community Fundraising Social 
Media Volunteers, you’d help us by:
• Supporting us to develop and manage the Community Fundraising Team Social Media Plan for 2025/26.
• Supporting us to create inspiring and motivating engagement opportunities with our DIY & Supporter Group community, utilising all our Social Media Channels.
• Updating our CRM with details of the Fundraiser, their DIY event & any action taken in response to their contact with us.

You’ll play a vital role in the Community Fundraising Team, helping us provide the best possible experience to our fundraisers.

We’re looking for...
Someone who is passionate about The Charity and our vision. You’ll also need to be: 
• Confident in communicating at all levels, with strong copywriting & social media experience
• Confident with the use of Hootsuite (or similar Social Media software), CRM & MS Outlook.
• Able to identify new opportunities to raise awareness and funds.

internal data protection and disclosure documentation before commencing the role. Volunteers must be over 18.

Do you have some spare time and would like to volunteer with a charity who is doing life saving work? Samaritans Research Ethics Board is looking for volunteers. This work could involve working alongside us on specific projects, joining an advisory group, or taking part in a workshop.

Age UK Notts are seeking individuals who would like to be considered as a volunteer for our Companion Service.

Volunteers will be supporting people remotely, in their own homes and in the community within Nottingham and Nottinghamshire and ideally, we ask all applicants to provide a minimum of 1 hour volunteering a week.

The companion service volunteer can choose to be:

• A companion telephone/video caller                                                               

• A companion within the person’s home

• A companion outside the person’s home

• Or a combination of all three.

Examples of the type of support the service offers include:

• Telephone / video calls for an older person/s on a regular basis at a mutually agreed time for a friendly chat. 

• Supporting an older person/s hobbies and interests or simply chatting with them in their own home on a regular basis.

• Supporting with digital access & building confidence skills & motivation to access the opportunities of the internet.

• Supporting the person outside of their home e.g., by accompanying them on a walk, to the shops, to a café, garden centre, theatre or cinema or other social activities / community groups. 

• Where appropriate, supporting the older person to access other services through information and signposting or referring to the Companion Service Coordinator for support.

We are looking for the following skills/interests:

• Individuals with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of older people who are committed to volunteering on a regular basis.

• Commitment to complete our Volunteer Report Form accurately and regularly. 

• Ability to travel for visits in the local community either by car or public transport for those volunteers who choose to participate in this type of activity.

• Digital literacy for those volunteers who choose to participate in this type of activity.

• Help manage participant and speaker communication (emailing, scheduling reminders, etc.)

• Track sign-ups, responses, and forms in spreadsheets or Airtable

• Support with workshop scheduling and calendar invites

Volunteer Role: Community Outreach Lead

Role Summary

As a Trustee of the Nistad Foundation, you will play a critical role in overseeing the governance and strategic direction of the charity. Chair - Finance and Audit Committee

Community Action Suffolk, CAS is the county’s leading infrastructure organisation for the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector.  CAS is currently seeking a Chair for the Finance and Audit Committee.

The role

To provide effective leadership, the Finance & Audit Committee Chair must have a clear understanding of the committee’s duties and responsibilities; be able to commit the necessary time and be available on urgent financial matters.

 The Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee will be supported by a small committee of trustees and Head of Finance.  Meetings are quarterly and held at our office in Ipswich or alternatively online.

Role responsibilities:

• excellent working knowledge of finance and audit practices and internal control functions and risk management  frameworks
• develop understanding of the organisation and its financial structure
• sound judgement and professional scepticism

The person

 This is a role for an experienced qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar), who shares our vision and has a proven ability in strong leadership, organisational and financial matters. They will be someone who is motivated, pragmatic and demonstrates sound commercial and business acumen and have the requisite business, financial, communication skills to be the Chair the Finance and Audit Committee. Any knowledge of the insurance industry would be beneficial but not essential.

What you will be doing

• Facilitate a weekly online meditation session in a small group
• Plan each session and identify any items needed for the Meditation sessions.
• Lead on the logistics and set up of the session alongside the staff team.
• Inspire and motivate people using the services to attend.
• Keep a record of attendees, provide feedback, and report any concerns to the staff team.

Ignite Youth Future

To increase youth employment and promote inclusive economic growth in Tanzania.

Ignite Youth Future (IYF) addresses Tanzania’s high youth unemployment by equipping A-Level students, university students, and recent graduates with essential skills to navigate the job market. Many young people struggle with career uncertainty, lack of professional networks, and limited access to mentorship. IYF tackles these challenges through career exploration workshops, résumé writing training, soft skills development, and networking opportunities. Additionally, we promote mental and physical well-being to ensure holistic growth. By bridging the gap between education and employment, IYF empowers youth with the tools and connections needed for sustainable careers, ultimately fostering economic resilience and reducing unemployment rates.

IYF tackles youth unemployment by providing career readiness training, mentorship, and networking opportunities. Through structured workshops, we equip A-Level and university students with essential job market skills, including résumé writing, interview preparation, and soft skills development. Our mentorship program connects youth with industry professionals for guidance and career insights. We also facilitate corporate headshots to enhance professional branding. By partnering with HR professionals and companies, we create direct links to employment opportunities. Additionally, we integrate mental and physical well-being programs to build resilience. Through these initiatives, IYF empowers youth with practical skills, confidence, and networks for career success.

Resource Mobilisation Officer

Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)

The Resource Mobilisation Officer will lead and coordinate fundraising and partnership development efforts to support the financial sustainability and growth of Ignite Youth Future. The officer will be responsible for identifying funding opportunities, writing proposals, engaging donors, and strengthening strategic partnerships aligned with the organisation’s mission and goals.
