By organising a mixed weekly programme, this role will support the learning and development of young people into the next generation of health citizens. Volunteering for Sense

Sense is a leading disability charity with extensive knowledge and expertise in delivering personalised, creative and flexible support for disabled people with complex needs. Our tailored approach ensures that every person is empowered to live fully at every stage of life.

Due to the nature of the role, we require all applicants to be aged 16 or over. You must have a UK address to volunteer with Sense.

What your role will involve

You’ll get the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of activities, including:

• Welcoming and assisting customers, providing great customer service, helping create a wonderful shopping experience.
• Receiving donated items from the public, thanking them for their support.
• Sorting, steaming and preparing donations for sale.
• Helping to display stock in eye-catching and exciting ways.

The RSPCA has been protecting animals since 1824 and remains the UK’s oldest and largest animal welfare charity. Our Barnsley & District Branch works locally to:

The role of a Branch Trustee

Branch Trustees are volunteers who govern the charity, ensuring we are well-managed and making a real difference for animals. As Treasurer, you will play a key role in overseeing our finances, helping us operate effectively and sustainably.

As Volunteer Activity Lead, you will provide support to people seeking asylum who live in Wakefield through delivering activities that support people’s wellbeing and integration.

We provide support to people seeking asylum in Wakefield while their asylum claims are being considered. Being new to communities, our clients need additional help to reduce isolation and help develop their confidence. We do that by organising activities that keep them busy, engaged and connected with locally available services. Your role is to lead on activity planning and delivery – you will encourage clients to come, design posters, help foster a friendly and non-judgmental environment. You will help with outings and proactively include clients in brainstorming ideas on activities that will make the most positive difference in their lives. Activities to deliver can match your own interests and skills – yoga, conversational English club, sports, sewing, arts and crafts – the list is endless!

Your role is crucial in complementing existing Migrant Help services by helping provide additional opportunities for clients to improve their skills and develop confidence.
