Social Anxiety Alliance UK is a young and developing charity ideally looking for an experienced Trustee.
It may be possible for someone with a dedication and passion for helping those with social anxiety to apply for this role providing they are aware of the governance issues relating to the role (please read the charity commission document "The essential trustee")
Social anxiety involves an excessive fear of social situations. Sufferers will often fear being embarrassed or worry about being negatively evaluated by others. Anticipatory anxiety and situational avoidance are common, and individuals may endure social situations with a high level of discomfort. The scope of the anxiety may be focused on specific types of social situations or generalised to almost any social encounter.
We are the first UK charity dedicated to Social Anxiety.
What will you be doing
· Contribute towards the good management of the charity by carrying out key responsibilities as follows:
· To ensure that the charity complies with its governing document, charity law, company law, and any other relevant legislation or regulations.
· To ensure that the charity pursues its charitable objects as defined in its governing document.
· To ensure that the charity uses its resources exclusively to further its objects.
· To contribute towards setting the charity’s strategic direction and to evaluate performance and progress against agreed targets.
· To uphold the reputation and values of the charity.
· To commit to read papers in preparation for meetings and attend regular board meetings.

Board meetings and projects
We are a friendly board and we hold our meetings monthly online in the evening, typically on a Tuesday at 7pm to 8:30pm.
We would hope that Trustees can contribute to some other charity tasks and projects as the need arises.

What is an Inventory volunteer?
The RAF Museum has many items in its collection which are not currently on display. Our inventory volunteers will ensure that we have an up-to-date record of all the items in our reserve collection, their purpose and condition, to help us prepare to move from our current store outside Stafford to a new storage facility in Cosford. This is a weekday only opportunity.
This role sits within the RAF Museum’s Midlands Development Programme which will transform our museum and our impact on the local community through a series of phased projects – engaging audiences who may not obviously identify with the RAF story by finding common interests and histories which link them. As part of this project, we are planning a new learning centre, outdoor spaces, collections hub and major exhibition.
What will I be doing?
The Inventory Volunteer role could encompass various tasks, which might include:

- Expand and add new sections to the current website, such as the Projects and Impact sections, showcasing our projects and their impact through stories, videos, and case studies.
- Performance Optimisation: Enhance search engine rankings and overall website performance using expert-level SEO.
- Analytics and reporting: Track and analyse web traffic, sales metrics, and marketing data to measure success, forecast trends, and provide actionable insights to the bus.

People in care homes should have a voice to communicate their needs wishes and wants. Some people need support with this, but don’t have friends and family available to assist them. This means they’re entitled to have support from an RPR and volunteer, who are there to make sure they get the care they deserve. Your role as an RPR Support Volunteer is to collaborate with the VoiceAbility RPR to make sure a person’s views are listened to when decisions are made about their care.
As an RPR Support Volunteer you might:
· Visit people in their care home, to make sure they’re getting the right care and support
· Talk with them about their feelings, thoughts and wishes
· Raise concerns
· Keep detailed notes and records
· Make a real difference to someone’s life
All volunteering will take place Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 17:00. You will need to be over 18 years old and be living in the UK. Please note that there is no opportunity to volunteer at weekends or in the evening.

	Experience in PR, communications, journalism, or media relations, ideally in the voluntary, charity or advocacy sector.

	Understanding of media landscapes, both mainstream and community-based, with an awareness of LGBTQ+ and/or faith-sensitive contexts.

	Knowledge of reputation management and crisis communications.

How much commitment is required?
We are flexible around your own schedule. One average the role will require 2-4 hours per week. The following commitments are in place for all Hidayah volunteers:
- 
	To be available for media requests or to coordinate timely responses as needed. 
- 
	To support Hidayah events through PR activity and promotion. 
- 
	To help with fundraising efforts by securing media coverage for campaigns and initiatives. 
- 
	To check and respond to PR-related emails promptly. 
- 
	To maintain clear records of media engagement and press materials in the organisation’s shared systems (Google Drive).

The Discord Community Manager will play a key role in bringing our online community to life. This role is all about creating a welcoming and friendly space where members will feel comfortable chatting and building connections. By sparking conversations and encouraging interaction, you’ll help turn our Discord into a lively community hub.
 
What are the key responsibilities of this role?
This role will have the following duties, but are not limited to:
- 
	Monitor Discord chats and threads to keep conversations safe, respectful and inclusive. 
- 
	Actively encourage discussion and help keep chats flowing by posting prompts, asking questions and joining in conversations. 
- 
	Maintain a positive presence online, ensuring members feel valued and engaged. 
- 
	Welcome new members, help them get settled and foster a sense of belonging. 
- 
	Share creative ideas to boost participation (e.g. themed discussion days, polls, mini-events, QOTDs). 
- 
	Support or host occasional online community events (e.g. group chats, Q&As, game nights, or discussion sessions) to bring members together. 
- 
	Collaborate with staff and volunteers to share feedback, insights and opportunities for community growth. 
What do we expect from a Discord Community Manager?

- Specialist knowledge volunteer (antiques and collectables)

- Housekeeping volunteer
Key tasks
There is a variety of tasks within the above mentioned roles that our volunteers get involved with, including:
- Welcoming and assisting customers with their purchases, providing them with great customer service and a delightful shopping experience
- Receiving donated items from members of the public
- Sorting, steaming, tagging and preparing donated items for sale
- Creating visually appealing window and in-store displays
- Keeping the shop floor well stocked, clean and coordinated
- Processing sales and serving at the till
- Signing up gift aid donors
- Stock rotation
- Identifying special or valuable items within donated stock

The mission of Proxy by IWI is to provide and encourage an engaged, thoughtful feminist response to mainstream media,
popular culture, legal discord and advocacy.
To be published daily on the web, Proxy by IWI is ambitious, distinctive journalism about the people, ideas, laws and institutions that matter most from a feminist perspective - and beyond. Featuring hard-hitting original reporting as well as smart analysis, provocative argument, and first-person perspectives.
Principal Responsibilities
• Maintain a comprehensive overview of trends and developments on women's human rights globally;
• Must be able to submit a minimum of two (2) articles a month for publication, avg 600-800 words;
• Verify accuracy of facts and obtain supplemental material and additional details from files, reference libraries, and
interviews with knowledgeable sources;
• Organise material and report conforming to specified length, style, and format requirements;
• Interview people in a range of different circumstances as needed;
•Build contacts to maintain a flow of news, for example, police and emergency services, local council, community groups, health trusts, press officers from a variety of organisations, the general public, etc;
• Work closely with the Proxy team to produce concise and accurate copy according to our house style; 
• Research and write feature articles, sometimes for subsidiary publications and supplements;
• Create news content for the Proxy by IWI website.
Requirements
• 4+ years' experience in research and /or reporting;
•Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Flexibility, initiative, and good problem-solving abilities;
• Multicultural experience and sensitivity to cross-cultural differences;
• Desire to work in a women's human rights environment;
• Strong listening skills;
• Excellent writing ability, including the ability to write in different styles and to other people's direction;
• Good analytical skills to gain an accurate understanding of the subject in question;
• Organisational ability to manage multiple projects, often to tight deadlines;
• Creative approach, both in coming up with ideas for new projects and for getting a message across innovatively; 
• Good attention to detail, including the ability to proof-read your own work;
• Excellent written English skills.
