Why we need you

Casework triage volunteers help our caseworkers manage demand at our partner day centres by welcoming people, and assessing what issues they need support with. They then signpost people to other services where appropriate, help them access the day centre facilities, and help caseworkers to prioritise the most pressing guest needs.

When and where

Our partner day centres at the Ace of Clubs, HTB, the Upper Room, and Chelsea Methodist Church all have casework triage volunteers, who volunteer on the same day each week, usually for a 3hr shift.

What experience do I need?

It's the perfect volunteering role if you:

· Have some experience directly working or volunteering with vulnerable people,

· Are confident, friendly, and can think on your feet,

· Want to dedicate half a day weekly to volunteering in a frontline service.

What would I gain?

· Experience contributing to a frontline homelessness service

· Valuable experience for your C.V. and a professional reference

· All volunteers have access to our employer assistance programme, a free confidential helpline.

What will you be doing?

We are seeking a talented Volunteer Writer to help us develop high-quality written content for our upcoming blog. This role is ideal for someone with professional writing experience who is passionate about nature, sustainability, ethical farming, and environmental awareness.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and write engaging blog articles (topics may include sustainability, biodiversity, ethical farming, community stories, and environmental issues)

23rd January – 1st February 2026

We are seeking a volunteer nurse or care manager to join us onboard The Jumbulance for our annual ski trip to the beautiful resort of Niederau, Austria. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide essential support while enjoying time in a stunning alpine setting.

What we provide:

• All travel, accommodation, breakfasts and dinners

Your role:

• Acting as Lead for care, safeguarding, and first aid within the group

• Leading on manual handling and providing personal care as required

• Completing daily checks for medication administration

Essential skills and training:

• Manual handling trainer

• Designated safeguarding lead trained

• First aid trained

• Catheter care training

• Bowel irrigation training

• Buccolam/Midazolam and epilepsy training preferred

This role is ideal for a nurse or appropriately trained care manager who enjoys working as part of a team, supporting others, and using their professional skills to make a real difference.

Before the trip, you’ll review passenger care records with the group leader and complete an initial risk assessment on arrival. During the trip, you’ll carry out morning and evening checks, along with ad hoc support as needed. Outside of these responsibilities, your days are largely your own to enjoy, whether that’s skiing, relaxing at the spa, or joining in with the group’s activities. It’s a great balance of responsibility and fun, and a chance to share an unforgettable experience with a fantastic group of people.
