We are very fortunate to have a great group of volunteers that help us out in various ways: 

• On youth sessions
• On boat trips
• On events and Open Days

We need to formalise our volunteer programme and ensure that volunteers receive the recognition and rewards they deserve. 

What we need is someone to:

• Collate details of our volunteers 
• Ensure they have completed registration forms
• Keep a log of volunteer hours
• Engage more volunteers
• Inform volunteers of when they are needed

The majority of the work can be accomplished remotely but we would like to see you on site occasionally for you to establish a connection with the club and it's everyday operations. 

Rewards are based on volunteer hours completed and can include free kayaking sessions,  annual memberships, narrowboat trips and accredited training.

If you enjoy driving and would love to use those skills to help our cats, this could be the role for you. Our transport volunteers provide vital assistance to our teams and volunteer groups in the local area by transporting equipment, litter, food – and even cats! They have the essential role of connecting our network of volunteers, sites, vets and supporters.

Without the passionate and committed teams of volunteers across Cats Protection, we wouldn’t be able to help the thousands of cats and kittens each year that rely on us for help.

The Vacancy

Do you have a keen interest in current affairs and want to bring your experience of the Methodist Church to support its involvement in ecumenical social justice, policy and political work?

The Joint Public Issues Team (JPIT) is a partnership between the Baptist, Methodist and United Reformed Churches. It help the Churches to work together for peace and justice through listening, learning, praying, speaking and acting on public policy issues.

We are now searching for a new Methodist member of the Strategy and Policy Group (SPG) which oversees the team’s work, and facilitates the working together of the denominations to achieve JPIT’s purposes.

The SPG currently holds five meetings a year, comprising one 24-hour residential with the whole staff team, two half-day hybrid meetings (where members are on site together in London or online), and two shorter online-only meetings.

About You

As one of two Methodist members of SPG, you’ll contribute to the discussions and decision-making of the group, and collectively support JPIT in effectively enabling the Churches to speak and act prophetically and prayerfully on key issues of justice and peace. You’ll need to bring strong understanding and experience of the Methodist Church in Britain, through both local involvement and experience of district or Connexional structures.

This is a rewarding opportunity to play a significant role in the public witness and justice work of the Methodist Church, working with ecumenical colleagues. What will you be doing?

• Researching potential future sources of support including trusts and institutional funders
• Tailoring and submitting applications to grant providers
• Assisting with producing project progress reports with a level of detail suited to the funder
• Investigating other income streams, including digital fundraising, sponsored events (focused on promoting climate-friendly actions) and building more sustainable funding through regular donations

Hillingdon Women’s Centre is seeking to recruit enthusiastic new Trustees to join our existing Board and actively contribute to the existing strength and growth of the charity!

About

Trustees typically attend monthly board meetings, with occasional activities between meetings. The estimated time commitment is around 2 hours per typical month. New trustees will be supported with induction and access to ongoing training, including safeguarding and governance. We particularly welcome applications from women with lived experience of the issues we work on, and from those connected to the communities we serve in Hillingdon and surrounding boroughs. Supporting the Advice Supervisor, giving a warm and friendly greet to visitors to our services, identify what help is needed, direct people to information and self-help resources, book appointments and take enquiries.

What happens at Citizens Advice West Sussex

Our ambition is to reduce health and social inequalities by empowering people through information, advice and advocacy. We help people with all sorts of problems, from employment rights to food vouchers.
We listen and take people through their options so they make informed choices and support them to get the help they need. We advocate for residents, giving them a voice to bring changes to policy, so no one has to face their problems alone.

HIAS+JCORE is the UK Jewish response to refuge and asylum. Our vision is a UK where refugees can live in dignity, in a society free from racism. This work is driven by the belief that the Jewish community should play an active part in empowering refugees to thrive.

Role purpose

The Fundraising Trustee will bring expertise, insight, and strategic guidance to help the charity strengthen and diversify its income. Working with the Board and staff/volunteers, they will ensure fundraising is ethical, sustainable, and aligned with the charity’s mission and values.

Winter Bucket Collection

Do you want to join our movement and defend the right to a safe home? We’re looking for someone who can lead a team of volunteers at events in the community to help us raise money and awareness. The housing emergency hurts everyone. The fight to end it starts here!

The main thing we need you to do is help us fundraise. You’ll be vital to our fundraising efforts for the Winter Appeal by holding collection buckets in public spaces. Your support is not only crucial to our fundraising efforts, but it’s also opportunity to have fun, meet new people and experience some wonderful community spirit while contributing towards our mission. 

You’ll be supporting our bucket collection by helping us to create an energetic and friendly atmosphere to gather donations. You will:

• Support and coordinate the volunteer team on the day at events.

• Deposit cash into Shelter bank account at the end of the event or pass over to Shelter staff member

To enable you to take part in this opportunity we will: 

• Provide you with relevant policies, induction, training and information

• Refund any out-of-pocket expenses in line with Shelter’s volunteer expenses policy

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our Community Fundraising team who can join us at Reading for a bucket collection event in the community to help us raise money during our Winter fundraising period!

Every 11 minutes, this Winter, a family will lose their home. We provide vital services to those at risk, with our emergency helpline, housing rights campaigns, legal and emotional support.

Your role as volunteer:

• The main thing we need you to do is help us fundraise. You’ll be vital to our fundraising efforts for the Winter Appeal by holding a collection bucket for a 3-hour shift at Reading Station.
• You’ll be supported by one of our Community and Events Assistants or Lead Volunteers to help us to create an energetic and friendly atmosphere to gather donations.

Your support is not only crucial to our fundraising efforts, but it’s also opportunity to have fun, meet new people and experience some wonderful community spirit while contributing towards our mission.
